Hello! Sam from Moz's Help Team here! So -  after being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. However, there are a lot of factors which can affect our ability to find and index links to your site. It's important to note that we are always adding new data to our index, but it may take some time for us to discover backlinks to your site based on factors like crawlability of the referring pages, quality of the links and the referring pages, and more. If you are not seeing links that you know you have, you may want to make sure that they can be indexed. It is also a good idea to check to see if we've indexed the page on which that link is found. If we haven't indexed the referring page yet, you won't see your link in our index. You can also add links to Link Tracking Lists. Once you add a link to your tracking lists we will add that page to be crawled. As long as it is accessible to our crawler, you should see the link in our index as soon as we can index those pages. Lastly, I have a great guide here with some things to check around why we may not have found your links yet: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/moz-isnt-finding-your-links If you'd like any further information, please feel free to pop us an email over at help@moz.com. We do also have a great guide to Domain Authority just here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority

Hi, No, MOZ does not have any option to disavow links and you should not be worried about disavowing links in Moz. Instead, disavow them from the Google Search Console because Google is the search engine that ranks your site according to proper linking.

Hi, Great question, Link Explorer and the Links tab of Moz Pro Campaigns are both tied to our Link index, which is constantly updating. After being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. When discovered or lost links are found, we'll update our database to reflect those changes in your scores and link counts. We prioritize the links we crawl based on a machine learning algorithm to mimic Google's index. This does not mean that DA and PA will change with every data update, though; it will only change if we find new link data for a respective site. I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly when your DA will update it depends on when we find new equity passing backlinks to your site. You can read more about our new Link Explorer tool and our index here. You can also read more about how our Link index compares with our competitors here https://backlinko.com/best-backlink-checker Feel free to reach out to help@moz.com with any further questions

Hi snjaoieiw, To get a detailed answer from Moz staff on what DA is, you might consider searching the Q&A forum. In short, though, it is a Moz metric (not a Google or Bing metric) that takes into consideration the number (and quality) of backlinks your website has. That said, have you been working on building up high quality backlinks? -Zack

  • Yeah that sounds like the easiest/best option. Thank you for your answer John.

  • Just a minor clarification - you can use both rel=prev/next and rel=canonical, IF you have something like search filters. Then, the canonical would point to the unfiltered current page and the rel=prev/next would point to the filtered paginated pages. Yeah, I know, that made a lot of sense. Let's say your page is: http://example.com/stuff?page=2&sort=price ...then you might have It's more than a little confusing. Definitely check out that JavaScript issue, though - it might be that bots aren't seeing what people are seeing, and that could be very dangerous.

  • Hello and thank's for reaching out to us! This is Abe on the SEOmoz Help team. It appears as if those sites have not been indexed yet by Open Site Explorer, meaning we have not captured that sites information yet or they could be blocking us from finding them. This would be why you are seeing "no data". We try to capture as much information as possible with every update but there are absolutely sites we have not pulled in yet. With our next update, you have a chance of this information updating. Here is the calendar that shows our Linksapace update schedule: https://seomoz.zendesk.com/entries/345964-Linkscape-Update-Schedule (the next is set for June 12th). I hope this information helps.

  • I understand the difficulties in tackling this problem. Indeed PR is not a reliable factor to base an algorithm on. Given the size of the index any extra check will take lots of time (money), if you ever get to incorporating a good spam algorithm this would be a great addition. For now, I will look at MozTrust more often. Thanks for the replies, I appreciate it!

  • a trick to  not get personal results is to add &pws=0  to the end of the search url eg https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=keyword&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official**&pws=0**

  • This question is a bit intricate. With AJAX content like this, I know Google's Full Specifications https://developers.google.com/webmasters/ajax-crawling/docs/specification indicate that the #! and ?escaped_fragment= technique works for their crawlers. However, Roger is a bit picky and isn't robust enough yet to use only the sitemap as the reference in this case. Luckily, one of our wonderful users came up with a solution using pushState() method. Click here: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/create-crawlable-link-friendly-ajax-websites-using-pushstate to find out how to create crawl-able content using pushState . This should help SEOmoz crawler read AJAX content. Let me know if this information works for you!

  • Hi Jimmy, Thanks for writing in with a great question. In regard to the "noindex" meta tag, our crawler will obey that tag as soon as we find it in the code, but we will also crawl any other source code up until we hit the tag in the code so pages with the "noindex" tag will still show up in the crawl. We just don't crawl any information past that tag. One of the notices we include is "Blocked by meta robots" and for the truthbook.com campaign, we show over 2000 pages under that notice. For example, on the page http://truthbook.com/quotes/index.cfm?month=5&day=14&year=2010, there are six lines of code, including the title, that we would crawl before hitting the "noindex" directive. Google's crawler is much more sophisticated than ours, so they are better at handling the meta robots "noindex" tag. As for http://truthbook.com/contemplative_prayer/, we do respect the "*" wildcard directive in the robots.txt file and we are not that page. I checked your full CSV report and there is no record of us crawling any pages with /contemplative_prayer/ in the URL (http://screencast.com/t/hMFuQnc9v1S) so we are correctly respecting the disallow directives in the robots.txt file. Also, if you would ever like to reach out to the Help Team directly in the future, you can email us from the Help Hub here: http://www.seomoz.org/help, but we are happy to answer questions in the Q&A forum, as well. I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Chiaryn

  • None of the link databases you use will have the quantity of links that webmaster tools has. You can use multiple sources to try and build the best possible picture of yours or competitors link profiles.

  • ah that makes sense, then second point is why are they not ranking for any of the 30 keywords listed if their site has been optimized for them, ahhhh competition competition, thank you I will check out links

  • Thanks for getting back to me Peter. I think that my question didn't come out clear, sorry! I've attached an image of the issue I'm seeing. Basically, SEOMoz gives one ranking, then tells me another when I hover over the local dot. I didn't mean there was a discrepancy between what SEOMoz gives, and what  I find when running queries. Maybe the picture will better demonstrate. Sorry, I removed the names because this is for a client. Thanks again, Tyler Si4oO5m

  • Hi there, Thanks for reaching out to us! I think that's a great idea to have bulk submission with Rank Tracker.  Unfortunately we do not have that feature built in so you can just submit that volume of keywords to accomplish that task.  We would love to hear about how you like that feature to look like in our feature request forum: https://seomoz.zendesk.com/forums/293194-seomoz-pro-feature-requests.  There you will in touch with our project owners and if your request gets enough love, we will build it! In the meantime, here's a few things I can suggest that can save you some time: Utilize the track feature, which will allow you to track 50 keywords at anytime.  So you can use this for your active keywords and never have to enter them again. If you have a slot to spare, you can create a campaign just to do bulk submissions.  Currently in our campaign tool, once you set up the campaign, we will allow bulk submissions up to 15 keywords at a time into the manage keyword section of the settings. If you have a big list of keywords, this might save you a little time. you can just create a new campaign, once you finished setting up the campaign, follow the above method. The reason is when a new campaign is initiated we do an instant pull of the rankings of the keywords you input during that time.  This process can be time consuming as you would have to delete and create a new campaign every time you do bulk submissions. Hope that's helpful, please let us know if you have any questions! Best, Peter SEOmoz Help Team.

  • Hi! Sorry to hear that you're running into this issue.  I just logged into your account and was able to run a test report for www.seomoz.org.  I'm also seeing that you have 2 of your 5 advanced reports remaining for the day.  Can you tell me if you're still running into problems and if so, answer the following questions for me? Were you logged into your SEOmoz account at the time you tried to run these reports? Were there specific URL's that you were having difficulty with? What OS and Browser is this on? Are you having this problem on multiple browers? And have you tried clearing your cookies/cache? I know that's a lot of questions, but they're help us figure out what's going on Thanks!
