  • When it comes on keyword, Moz is the best choice. It's great for gaining a deeper insight on website and competitors. It’s been separated into the Keyword Overview Tool, the Keyword Suggestions tool, and a SERP analysis tool. For our divorce lawyer keyword. We used Moz Keyword Explorer. It's very helpful. The Keyword Overview tool is undoubtedly the most useful. It shows top ranking keywords, a distribution chart and the ability to see all of their keyword rankings. For a free tool, it doesn’t get much better than this. Keyword Suggestions is straightforward. The Monthly Volume column and has both volume ranges and more precise selections. Overall, the keyword explorer is an awesome tool that’s perfect for beginner’s looking for a low cost keyword research solution.

  • There is no set number for ranking. You can have 100,000 backlinks, but if they're from sites like how to sell your house or for model airplanes, they won't help at all. You want links from relevant sites, and you'll want to get the other sites a reason to link to you, usually in the form of good content on your site.

  • An increase in DA takes time. As the backlinks you have created will get indexed and then their link juice transfer to you and then the DA may increase slowly. So it's a lengthy process you have to wait.

  • There are a few ways of looking at this. It also depends how old the other post is, how many links it has (plus many more factors). One angle is to link out from the post that is ranking (https://www.clickboarding.com/18-jaw-dropping-onboarding-stats-you-need-to-know/) to the blog post targeting "employee onboarding process" - ideally using the keyphrase as the anchor text. However, in my opinion, you might be better incorporating the blog post which targets the keyphrase into the page that is already ranking. There is a lot of crossover in the content and the stats, so it might make sense to merge them and avoid confusing Google. Just make sure you 301 redirect the post targeting "employee onboarding process" to the stats post if you go down this route.

  • Well the keyword checker device is down, I could additionally endorse gear that you might want to find a tutor to test out: Open Site Explorer and their new Twitter tool FollowerWonk.

  • Hi Nathan, If you have no-indexed your pages, it is perfectly normal to then see no-index flags. They aren't necessarily an issue if you are expecting them to be there. Cheers, Andy

  • Hi there! We have not made any changes to our DA algorithm and we do update DA scores when our link index updates, which is regularly - we do not have set cadence but if link building is taking place, you should see a change in your DA score. Of course, there are other variables that go into a Domain Authority calculation and more information can be found here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority If you have further questions, please email us at help@moz.com

  • Hi there, Sam from Moz's Help Team here! To understand how to improve DA (Domain Authority) it can help to get some insight into how we gather our data, which I'll include below. Sorry in advance for the long message! To calculate DA, we index the web by following links using a crawler. Our crawler is built on a machine-learning based model that is optimized to select pages like those that appear in our collection of Google SERPs. We feed the machine learning model with features of the URL like the backlink counts for the URL and the PLD (pay-level domains), features about the URL like its length and how many subdirectories it has, and features on the quality of the domains linking to the URL and PLD. So, it's not based on any one particular metric, but we're training the crawler to start with high-value links. In terms of improving your Domain Authority, with the information above in mind, it's best to look at both you on-page SEO to make sure you've covered the basics. Then you also want to look at your off-site SEO and building more links more links to your site. There are lots of different areas of Link Building to explore, from patching up broken links, improving your internal link profile, and good ol' fashioned content creation. Here is a great video by our founder Rand which goes over some easy link building tactics to get you started. I hope that helps to start you off! Let me know if you have any other questions :]
