Hello! Sam from Moz's Help Team here! So -  after being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. However, there are a lot of factors which can affect our ability to find and index links to your site. It's important to note that we are always adding new data to our index, but it may take some time for us to discover backlinks to your site based on factors like crawlability of the referring pages, quality of the links and the referring pages, and more. If you are not seeing links that you know you have, you may want to make sure that they can be indexed. It is also a good idea to check to see if we've indexed the page on which that link is found. If we haven't indexed the referring page yet, you won't see your link in our index. You can also add links to Link Tracking Lists. Once you add a link to your tracking lists we will add that page to be crawled. As long as it is accessible to our crawler, you should see the link in our index as soon as we can index those pages. Lastly, I have a great guide here with some things to check around why we may not have found your links yet: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/moz-isnt-finding-your-links If you'd like any further information, please feel free to pop us an email over at help@moz.com. We do also have a great guide to Domain Authority just here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority

Hi, No, MOZ does not have any option to disavow links and you should not be worried about disavowing links in Moz. Instead, disavow them from the Google Search Console because Google is the search engine that ranks your site according to proper linking.

Hi, Great question, Link Explorer and the Links tab of Moz Pro Campaigns are both tied to our Link index, which is constantly updating. After being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. When discovered or lost links are found, we'll update our database to reflect those changes in your scores and link counts. We prioritize the links we crawl based on a machine learning algorithm to mimic Google's index. This does not mean that DA and PA will change with every data update, though; it will only change if we find new link data for a respective site. I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly when your DA will update it depends on when we find new equity passing backlinks to your site. You can read more about our new Link Explorer tool and our index here. You can also read more about how our Link index compares with our competitors here https://backlinko.com/best-backlink-checker Feel free to reach out to help@moz.com with any further questions

Hi snjaoieiw, To get a detailed answer from Moz staff on what DA is, you might consider searching the Q&A forum. In short, though, it is a Moz metric (not a Google or Bing metric) that takes into consideration the number (and quality) of backlinks your website has. That said, have you been working on building up high quality backlinks? -Zack

  • So glad I could help clear things up! :] Each domain is only counted once, so a domain could have 3, 10, or 100 links to your site, but it would still only count as one linking root domain.

  • Hi there, Thanks for reaching out to us!  I can certainly understand the need to have the UI be in your specific language. While we do our best to work on other versions of our tools, the only language version that we current support is English.  Our reports however does allow you a certain degree of customization including the content in english, you would just have to create a custom report and fill in the text in your language for the benefits of your client.  This report is custom and you would have to create it in our UI to have it sent out.  For your information, you could check out our awesome help hub at: www.seomoz.org/help/custom-reports. Hope that helps!  Let me know if you have questions Best, Peter SEOmoz Help Team.

  • The crawler is looking at all of the content on the page, including the navigation, header, footer, source code, etc. and seeing that much of it is the same between the pages. I looked at the Mortar Hats and Christmas Joyful Gathering pages, and counted up the raw text words on each page. Mortar Hats had 622 words, and the Christmas page had 633 words. Of that, there were maybe 15 words that were different on each page. The crawlers can't  look at images, and to them, the pages look quite like each other.

  • It's probably because a large portion of each page is identical when you look at the source code. There are only a couple of dozen words that are different between the pages, and all of the rest is identical. The crawler can't see images and tell that there are different items on the different pages.

  • Thanks for the question! Let's break this down: Equity-Passing (formerly follow) - Typically links which pass value from one page to another, including followed, 301, and meta refresh links Non-Equity Passing (formerly nofollow) - Typically links that are nofollowed or don't send value (rel=nofollow , meta nofollow, off screen, 302, RSS feed) Only rel=nofollow  - Links that have the rel=nofollow attribute Only Follow - Links that don't have the rel=nofollow attribute, but still may not pass equity (i.e. 302 links and meta nofollows would be returned) Only 301 - Links that are only specifically 301 links Hope this cleared things up for you Best, Sam Moz Helpster

  • Great suggestions by John. I would also check your other visitor-source stats: direct traffic and other [besides SEs] referrers, and correlate with other real-world activities and events. This relates not only to the possibility of other new backlinks, but also to any other marketing efforts you (or your client) may have been doing in, or before, the months in which your SE traffic dropped. If visitors are finding your site easily by other means (news items, collateral handouts, etc), your number and percentage of search-based traffic may drop.

  • It is usually a mix of our crawl timing and a quantity/quality trade-off. We try to filter out some low-quality links. Crawl timing has been faster recently, though (maybe 2 weeks), so generally that's only a short term issue. There are cases, though, where a link might not be crawled or counted - nofollow, bad headers, no crawl paths, etc. I've seen Yahoo Directory and DMOZ links, for example, that were buried so deep even Google didn't crawl them. Unfortunately, it's really tough to tell without seeing the site in question. If these are very recent links, then it's just an issue of time. If these links have been around for a month or more, then this could be a quality issue or a technical issue with the link.

  • It could be that SEOMoz hasn't updated their index since you started ranking page one.  I could be incorrect (and please, anyone, correct me if I am) but I believe they work off of their own index that updates periodically rather than using Google's live index.

  • I'm having a similar problem with a site that has popped up as a #1 ranking - all of the links in their profile are really spammy.  I've reported to Google webspam a few times and just focusing on a building better links for us. I think a "more" exact match domain has been at the root of this
