Hello! Sam from Moz's Help Team here! So -  after being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. However, there are a lot of factors which can affect our ability to find and index links to your site. It's important to note that we are always adding new data to our index, but it may take some time for us to discover backlinks to your site based on factors like crawlability of the referring pages, quality of the links and the referring pages, and more. If you are not seeing links that you know you have, you may want to make sure that they can be indexed. It is also a good idea to check to see if we've indexed the page on which that link is found. If we haven't indexed the referring page yet, you won't see your link in our index. You can also add links to Link Tracking Lists. Once you add a link to your tracking lists we will add that page to be crawled. As long as it is accessible to our crawler, you should see the link in our index as soon as we can index those pages. Lastly, I have a great guide here with some things to check around why we may not have found your links yet: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/moz-isnt-finding-your-links If you'd like any further information, please feel free to pop us an email over at help@moz.com. We do also have a great guide to Domain Authority just here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority

Hi, No, MOZ does not have any option to disavow links and you should not be worried about disavowing links in Moz. Instead, disavow them from the Google Search Console because Google is the search engine that ranks your site according to proper linking.

Hi, Great question, Link Explorer and the Links tab of Moz Pro Campaigns are both tied to our Link index, which is constantly updating. After being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. When discovered or lost links are found, we'll update our database to reflect those changes in your scores and link counts. We prioritize the links we crawl based on a machine learning algorithm to mimic Google's index. This does not mean that DA and PA will change with every data update, though; it will only change if we find new link data for a respective site. I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly when your DA will update it depends on when we find new equity passing backlinks to your site. You can read more about our new Link Explorer tool and our index here. You can also read more about how our Link index compares with our competitors here https://backlinko.com/best-backlink-checker Feel free to reach out to help@moz.com with any further questions

Hi snjaoieiw, To get a detailed answer from Moz staff on what DA is, you might consider searching the Q&A forum. In short, though, it is a Moz metric (not a Google or Bing metric) that takes into consideration the number (and quality) of backlinks your website has. That said, have you been working on building up high quality backlinks? -Zack

  • Hi there! Thanks for reaching out to us!  I am sorry to hear that you had to explain the way our data appears.  You are correct in that our universal rankings does not show your result's "rankings" visually on Google.  The reason we classify them this way is because this is inline with Google's policy regarding video results, more specifically if they appear in a 3 pack then we will not consider them as "organic."  Although it is completely understandable that visually it is every bit as "organic" as it can appear.  We have taken steps to list those universal rankings by giving them a "between x and y natural results" as a way of showing their results visually. With that said we really appreciate feedback and feature requests; they help us decide what parts of our software development to prioritize. Here's the feature request forum we use to collect ideas: http://seomoz.zendesk.com/forums/293194-seomoz-pro-feature-requests You can vote for features you'd like to see and suggest your own, both of which help our product team in deciding what to build next. Add your request there and hopefully we'll see it come to fruition sometime down the line. Thanks again, and best of luck! Peter Moz Help Team.

  • Hi Ravi Basically, you want to instruct the web crawlers to visit only one version of the site.  You can do this my adding the following code into your .htaccess file: RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www.your-domain.com$ RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.your-domain.com/$1 [R=301] Obviously replace "your-domain.com" with whatever your URL is. That code will make sure you are redirected to the www. version of each page.  I'd ensure that every on-page link on your website links with the www. version for consistency, in order to avoid unneccesary redirects. Alternatively, if your site is running WordPress, installing the Yoast SEO Plugin will do this process for you automatically. Hope this helps.

  • Answer from Screaming Frog! The reason the SEO spider is crawling these URLs, is due to incorrect relative linking on the site from the login URL. It's actually when the spider crawls the login page, http://www.website.com/login?returnurl=%2F which then leads to this URL http://www.website.com/Home/ctl/SendPassword?returnurl=http:/www.website.com/ and then this /home/ sub directory URL http://www.website.com/Home/ctl/page/dogs.aspx which links to http://www.website.com/Home/ctl/page/page/dogs.aspx and so on and so forth. This is the path to the incorrect relative linking (attached for you). To stop this, you can correct the incorrect relative linking, or easier, simply exclude the login page.

  • Hello Neil! Thanks for reaching out to us. Right now our API does not have the ability to pull historical data. The post you mentioned that Pro members could access historical data, meaning they can use the Moz Pro tools to view historical data, not necessarily the API. We apologize for the confusion. The good news is that we are hoping to add this functionality to our API in the near future. The ability to pull historical data with the API is absolutely in the works. While we do not have an ETA, you can absolutely expect this soon. Sorry for the confusing verbiage in this post. I will make sure that we adjust this to better reflect our current functionality.

  • My favorite article on this subject is Maile Ouye's "To Slash or Not to Slash" in the Official Google Webmaster's blog. While you might be able to initiate a 301 redirect for the scenario you mentioned: www.domain.com/page/ versus www.domain.com/page  , it's worth noting that Maile says: "If both slash and non-trailing-slash versions contain the same content and each returns 200, you can:.....Rest assured that for your root URL specifically, http://example.com is equivalent to http://example.com/ and can’t be redirected even if you’re Chuck Norris." Rarely does a Googler state something that clearly.   Definitely one of my favorite quotes from the Webmasters' Blog!

  • Hi Christopher, scribe SEO now scribe content  http://scribecontent.com/ I think does the best job of giving you keywords that you can actually apply to the content on your website. This tool was originally designed only for WordPress however it has evolved into something that can be used on all websites. I believe it gives you the most relevant answers and by far is my favorite keyword cool. I have listed some more below and I hope they are of help to you. I like the built-in keyword tool here at Moz but I can give you quite a few more. http://pro.moz.com/tools/keyword-difficulty http://ranktracker.moz.com/ http://analytics.moz.com/pro/research_tools When used together they make a very powerful combination. http://www.spyfu.com/ Compete: Compete offers three main features Keyword referral, Site referral and Compare sites. Keyword referral tells the most recommended domains for certain search terms and queries. In site referral, you tupe in a domain to find out the most referred phrases or search terms. And, in compare sites, you type in 2 domains to know the comparison for keyword referrals. With compete, you do gain a lot of insight on how your competition is faring but it doesn't give you ideas on how to take advantage of the data you get. In case you don't have other alternative analysis tools and you do not mind paying up, its good enough. Else, don't. Like the other gentleman said http://www.wordstream.com/seo-keyword-tool Digital point's Keyword suggestion Tool: Digital point's Keyword suggestion Tool incorporates the results of both Overture and Wordtracker's free tool. When you type a phrase, say 'Search Engine Optimization,' and press enter, the site returns two tabular lists of both Overture & Wordtracker information. When you think about it, there couldn't have been a better tool as no keyword is better than the one that brings in most traffic as Overture's tool shows daily results while Wordtracker's free tool shows results of every 6 months. Again, as it feature's Wordtracker's free tool, the results are limited. if you utilize hubspot http://www.hubspot.com/ you are all set Raven tools spider mate Word Tracker's Free Tool http://tools.seobook.com/keyword-tools/seobook/ http://searchenginewatch.com/article/2096246/Successful-SEO-Tactics-Keyword-Selection ** Sincerely,** ** Thomas**

  • Hi Cladio, Mozscape doesn't include every link on the web, but it does usually include links that are likely to most influence your rankings. Links on large directory sites, or on pages beneath several layers of navigation, often don't get included. It's similar to how Google may not crawl/index pages very well on DMOZ - it's a large important site, but there simply isn't enough link juice to spread through all the pages. (that said, our engineers are working on updates so fewer important links get dropped from the index) Here's how Moz Help Team manager Aaron Wheeler explained it to a customer: "Linkscape focuses on a breadth-first approach, and thus we nearly always have content from the homepage of websites, externally linked-to pages and pages higher up in a site’s information hierarchy. However, deep pages that are buried beneath many layers of navigation are sometimes missed and it may be several index updates before we catch all of these. If our crawlers or data sources are blocked from reaching those URLs, they may not be included in our index (though links that points to those pages will still be available). Finally, the URLs seen by Linkscape must be linked-to by other documents on the web or our index will not include them."

  • Looks like you missed "http://" in some URLs so the browser is treating them as relative links.  There are more. On this page: http://www.boxtheorygold.com/blog/?Tag=Business+Leader and others like it, I found several URLs that start with "www." which is your problem.  This page has a relative link on the anchor text "keep on improving"

  • Great question Jonathan! Unfortunately there is currently no way to run an export in the KWD tool when multiple keywords are submitted in the same query. I can see this being a useful feature though. I believe this has been requested in our Feature Request forum before, but I recommend heading in there and either submitting a new request or voting up the existing one. Our Product team checks this regularly and uses it to plan our future roadmap. If there's enough interest, we'll hopefully see it added soon Let us know if you have any other questions and have a great day! Best, Sam Moz Helpster

  • Sorry, I meant two "a"'s. Interesting that Google gives the same number of links for both (link:www.seaaroundus.org and link:seaaroundus.org) when I do it (157).  But OSE has very different numbers for them Yes, it does need a redirect.  But I can't do that, since I don't control the site.  Just am doing some analysis and wondering which URL for Sea Around Us to use. Thanks.

  • Thank you Wesley for your comment on the other thread about the Panda. We have decided to put back all the pages in the index and in the meantime try to differentiate and thick them more. Our traffic was down too much as well as our business was suffering too much that we couldn't keep up. As for the bounce rate, that is pretty much from all our sources. Direct traffic has actually an higher bounce rate right now (58%), and used to be better in the past (38% in 2009), but on the Google side it is now 46.33% whereas used to be 57% in 2009. Referral traffic is about 50% bounce rate and used to be worse in 2009 at 53%. Please, note that in 2009 our business was going great. 2009 was the best year ever and we always take it as the reference the reference year. I am aware that we need to get that down furthermore, but it is hard to understand how to do it. If I look at our website, I don't see anything misleading or anything for which users can be scared away, but maybe I need someone that can think more "out of the box". I really appreciate your help and brainstorming! All the best,
