Hello! Sam from Moz's Help Team here! So -  after being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. However, there are a lot of factors which can affect our ability to find and index links to your site. It's important to note that we are always adding new data to our index, but it may take some time for us to discover backlinks to your site based on factors like crawlability of the referring pages, quality of the links and the referring pages, and more. If you are not seeing links that you know you have, you may want to make sure that they can be indexed. It is also a good idea to check to see if we've indexed the page on which that link is found. If we haven't indexed the referring page yet, you won't see your link in our index. You can also add links to Link Tracking Lists. Once you add a link to your tracking lists we will add that page to be crawled. As long as it is accessible to our crawler, you should see the link in our index as soon as we can index those pages. Lastly, I have a great guide here with some things to check around why we may not have found your links yet: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/moz-isnt-finding-your-links If you'd like any further information, please feel free to pop us an email over at help@moz.com. We do also have a great guide to Domain Authority just here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority

Hi, No, MOZ does not have any option to disavow links and you should not be worried about disavowing links in Moz. Instead, disavow them from the Google Search Console because Google is the search engine that ranks your site according to proper linking.

Hi, Great question, Link Explorer and the Links tab of Moz Pro Campaigns are both tied to our Link index, which is constantly updating. After being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. When discovered or lost links are found, we'll update our database to reflect those changes in your scores and link counts. We prioritize the links we crawl based on a machine learning algorithm to mimic Google's index. This does not mean that DA and PA will change with every data update, though; it will only change if we find new link data for a respective site. I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly when your DA will update it depends on when we find new equity passing backlinks to your site. You can read more about our new Link Explorer tool and our index here. You can also read more about how our Link index compares with our competitors here https://backlinko.com/best-backlink-checker Feel free to reach out to help@moz.com with any further questions

Hi snjaoieiw, To get a detailed answer from Moz staff on what DA is, you might consider searching the Q&A forum. In short, though, it is a Moz metric (not a Google or Bing metric) that takes into consideration the number (and quality) of backlinks your website has. That said, have you been working on building up high quality backlinks? -Zack

  • Hi Ryan, You can learn more about MozRank and MozTrust at the following pages: http://www.seomoz.org/learn-seo/mozrank http://www.seomoz.org/learn-seo/moztrust The most basic reason why google.com doesn't have a perfect 10 for MR and MT is because no site does. Mozrank is the global link authority and importance of a site independent of a specific query. Those sites with a higher MozRank are likely to rank higher than their lesser ranking counterparts and not even google.com ranks #1 for every keyword possible in a search engine.  PA/DA are directly related to how well a site will rank in Google.com using a variety of different metrics. Read about Page Authority and Domain Authority here: http://www.seomoz.org/learn-seo/page-authority http://www.seomoz.org/learn-seo/domain-authority Definitely,  check out those links though to learn all about these different metrics.

  • Hi Kostas A quick note that Sha isn't a staff member and doesn't have visibility into your campaign (though she's an awesome part of our community and we're so happy to have her here!). For this it's probably time to email help@seomoz.org and see if they can shed some light on what happened. I'm an associate, but don't have that type of view into your account either. The post that she's referring to with details about the crawl outage is at http://www.seomoz.org/blog/crawl-outage and we're keeping it updated as we have more information. Also, keep an eye on the SEOmoz Twitter account, as we'll post there when there are updates to the post. Keri

  • Not at all.  I guess my feeling here is that there is a sort of untapped social graph defined by blogrolls.   If it were simple to harvest them upon visiting a blog (e.g. this blogger recommends...) one could do a stumble-on-steroids approach to a niche.

  • Hi, there are more factors that play into ranking then on-page optimization. In the 2011 ranking factors, you can see that Page Level Link Metrics and Domain Level Link Authority all play a larger role then on-page keyword usage. To give you an example, Geek Squad ranks in the first few results for "computer repair" but they score an F for on-page optimization. (imagine our frustration) Getting high quality links from powerful domains, and getting links with powerful anchor text can account for your situation. I am curious as to why your page isn't optimized for those specific keywords? Did you do this intentionally?

  • Hi Stuart, This is a known issue with OSE. Linkscape doesn't quite know what to do with downloadable files and is falsely listing some of them as links. A Linkscape engineer has some more details on this Q&A post at http://www.seomoz.org/q/how-are-our-competitors-getting-these-inbound-linking-domains. So sorry for the confusion, and we are working to get this taken care of.

  • Hi Mike, The only way to limit the content included in a campaign is to choose "subdomain" when you set up the campaign. So, the only way to limit the campaign to just one page, would be to create a separate subdomain with just that one page in it, but I am curious as to why you would want to do this anyway. The errors highlighted by crawl diagnostics are largely easy to identify (or irrelevant) in a single page. If the page you have been working on is live, then you can check it using the On-page Report Card for the specific page. To do this: Once inside your Campaign, choose On-page and then the blue Report Card link at the top of the page. Select the primary keyword from your list (any loaded in your campaign) and type in the URL of the page, then generate your report. While the Report Card is primarily about optimization for the chosen keyword, it will also highlight things like URL & Title length, number of internal and external links, meta description etc Hope that helps, Sha

  • The question is...how can a person find that page from the site? Go to the main site: http://www.turbodieselregister.com. What is the least number of clicks by which you can get to the page with your link from the main page? The more clicks, the deeper the page, the less valuable the link. An exception would be if there were links to the page directly, but we already determined there are not.
