Hello! Sam from Moz's Help Team here! So -  after being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. However, there are a lot of factors which can affect our ability to find and index links to your site. It's important to note that we are always adding new data to our index, but it may take some time for us to discover backlinks to your site based on factors like crawlability of the referring pages, quality of the links and the referring pages, and more. If you are not seeing links that you know you have, you may want to make sure that they can be indexed. It is also a good idea to check to see if we've indexed the page on which that link is found. If we haven't indexed the referring page yet, you won't see your link in our index. You can also add links to Link Tracking Lists. Once you add a link to your tracking lists we will add that page to be crawled. As long as it is accessible to our crawler, you should see the link in our index as soon as we can index those pages. Lastly, I have a great guide here with some things to check around why we may not have found your links yet: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/moz-isnt-finding-your-links If you'd like any further information, please feel free to pop us an email over at help@moz.com. Hi, No, MOZ does not have any option to disavow links and you should not be worried about disavowing links in Moz. Instead, disavow them from the Google Search Console because Google is the search engine that ranks your site according to proper linking.

Hi, Great question, Link Explorer and the Links tab of Moz Pro Campaigns are both tied to our Link index, which is constantly updating. After being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. When discovered or lost links are found, we'll update our database to reflect those changes in your scores and link counts. We prioritize the links we crawl based on a machine learning algorithm to mimic Google's index. This does not mean that DA and PA will change with every data update, though; it will only change if we find new link data for a respective site. I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly when your DA will update it depends on when we find new equity passing backlinks to your site. You can read more about our new Link Explorer tool and our index here. You can also read more about how our Link index compares with our competitors here https://backlinko.com/best-backlink-checker Feel free to reach out to help@moz.com with any further questions

Hi snjaoieiw, To get a detailed answer from Moz staff on what DA is, you might consider searching the Q&A forum. In short, though, it is a Moz metric (not a Google or Bing metric) that takes into consideration the number (and quality) of backlinks your website has. That said, have you been working on building up high quality backlinks? -Zack

  • Sorry to be so late to jump in here. If you're still having odd numbers, email help@seomoz.org and they'll be able to look at your account and give you a better answer about what is happening. Thanks!

  • Sorry for the late reply here. The help desk is the best place. That said, there was a known problem with UK rankings, but I think it's taken care of. Do contact them if you have any more trouble regarding this.

  • A bit of a late response here, but yes, there is usually a reworking of things at each update. Rand has said that it's best to use the metrics to compare your site to a competitor each time, rather than your site to itself over time.

  • http://apiwiki.seomoz.org/w/page/25141119/Linkscape%20Schedule "Our goal is to update the data at least every 4 weeks." There's an update due on the 18th, also worth following SEOMoz on Twitter/Facebook as they tend to post an update once Linkscape has been updated.

  • Right now, there's not a way, though it is on the list of eventual features. There's more information in this help desk thread at http://seomoz.zendesk.com/entries/20199538-is-there-a-way-i-could-add-another-user-to-access-my-pro-account

  • I have the same exact problem and I could not find a way to prevent them from being crawled so I came to a path with 2 decisions, attempt to redirect or fix these pages, or document them and ignore the warnings. I chose the 2 path just because it made more sense.

  • Hi Wes. Nick is right. Two steps for you to take: 1. Send an e-mail to help@seomoz.org and share the specific example 2. Check the site again on Wednesday. An OSE update is expected at some point on Tuesday and you should notice link changes for your sites by Wednesday.

  • There's lots of competition. I think it was beaches real estate (toronto, canada). Everyone else in the list had data. The one in the first position didn't though.

  • Thank you, Kate. Yes - that's exactly what I was after. A good, thorough explanation of the challenges involved and a response we can all use, not just the original poster of the thread. Thanks again - much appreciated. Mark

  • Traffic Travis has a nice  and easy to use free windows app that does what you want (for low volumes). http://www.traffictravis.com/  you'd be better off using a proxy service with it though.

  • OpenSite explorer is based upon the Linkscape crawl of the web. Linkscape crawls the top 25% of web pages on the web, not 100% of the web. Generally speaking, if your link is not in the top 25% of web pages, it does not have any value anyway so OSE is a great source of link information. The process to crawl the web and work through the data takes about a month. The next Linkscape update is expected to go live on Oct 18th (next Tuesday). I would suggest checking OSE again on Wednesday for your link. My greater concern is you are not able to view the link in Google WMT. If a page is buried too deeply in a site, Google may not crawl it. Also if a site has certain issues it may not be properly crawled either. Can you share some examples of a couple links you are not seeing in Google WMT?

  • Thanks, Ryan. My entire site is https. I 301 any http request to the https version. That works fine. I also 301 any non-www to the www version. That works. I'm not currently doing anything special with the trailing slash (or lack of). I guess I should 301 anything with a trailing slash to the non-slash version, rather than serve up slash and non-slash each as status 200. Appreciate the guidance...

  • My pleasure. I think it will really benefit the whole Q&A experience. The good guys like EGOL, Ryan and Alan that are answering all the time can focus on creating really strong answers for unique questions and the users looking for answers get visibility of the existing strong answers straight away. EGOL's point above was valid as well. The search for the Q&A itself is a bit weak and it could do with looking at other factors along with some weighting for good answers. The metrics to apply this weighting like the staff endorsements, good answer and thumbs are all there to make this possible, just needs a bit of back end wizadry. Cheers Marcus

  • I would 301 and not rel canoncial. Less chance of error or things getting out of hand. Also, its the correct way to canonicalise urls. The rel canonical tag is for different situations (sorting order etc)
