Hello! Sam from Moz's Help Team here! So -  after being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. However, there are a lot of factors which can affect our ability to find and index links to your site. It's important to note that we are always adding new data to our index, but it may take some time for us to discover backlinks to your site based on factors like crawlability of the referring pages, quality of the links and the referring pages, and more. If you are not seeing links that you know you have, you may want to make sure that they can be indexed. It is also a good idea to check to see if we've indexed the page on which that link is found. If we haven't indexed the referring page yet, you won't see your link in our index. You can also add links to Link Tracking Lists. Once you add a link to your tracking lists we will add that page to be crawled. As long as it is accessible to our crawler, you should see the link in our index as soon as we can index those pages. Lastly, I have a great guide here with some things to check around why we may not have found your links yet: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/moz-isnt-finding-your-links If you'd like any further information, please feel free to pop us an email over at help@moz.com. We do also have a great guide to Domain Authority just here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority

Hi, No, MOZ does not have any option to disavow links and you should not be worried about disavowing links in Moz. Instead, disavow them from the Google Search Console because Google is the search engine that ranks your site according to proper linking.

Hi, Great question, Link Explorer and the Links tab of Moz Pro Campaigns are both tied to our Link index, which is constantly updating. After being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. When discovered or lost links are found, we'll update our database to reflect those changes in your scores and link counts. We prioritize the links we crawl based on a machine learning algorithm to mimic Google's index. This does not mean that DA and PA will change with every data update, though; it will only change if we find new link data for a respective site. I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly when your DA will update it depends on when we find new equity passing backlinks to your site. You can read more about our new Link Explorer tool and our index here. You can also read more about how our Link index compares with our competitors here https://backlinko.com/best-backlink-checker Feel free to reach out to help@moz.com with any further questions

Hi snjaoieiw, To get a detailed answer from Moz staff on what DA is, you might consider searching the Q&A forum. In short, though, it is a Moz metric (not a Google or Bing metric) that takes into consideration the number (and quality) of backlinks your website has. That said, have you been working on building up high quality backlinks? -Zack

  • Hi Anthony, Just checking to make sure that this is resolved. If it hasn't sorted itself out, please email help@seomoz.org and open up a ticket. Do let them know which Google site / which country you're targeting. Thanks!

  • Hi Nick, major thanks! That sounds like a great way forward and I'll file a reconsideration request! Luckily, the drop only showed for some internal landing pages and not the domain in general. Cheers from Germany and another thanks, Tobias

  • Hi everyone! We had another question open up about the same topic and our VP of Engineering, Kate left a detailed response. I wanted to add a link to it here as well so if anyone came across this question they'd see the response as well: http://www.seomoz.org/q/forcing-an-update-revisited Thanks!

  • Ok - here is the thing, I get the phrases using this API call http://lsapi.seomoz.com/linkscape/anchor-text/www.howdyhonda.com%2fblog?Scope=phrase_to_domain&Sort=domains_linking_page&Cols=2 But I got only three results from this URL - [{"apprid":4889793452,"appt":"howdy honda"}, {"apprid":4889793667,"appt":"schedule test drive"}, {"apprid":4889793108,"appt":"calculate payments"}] But the results that I see in Open Site Explorer are much more than these three results. Why am I not getting all results from OSE using this API call?

  • I wish there was a nicer solution to that, but that's the least painful way.

  • SEOmoz provides CSV downloads for lots of the reports. You'd have to delete some SEOMoz verbiage and add your logo. I've had to subscribe to Raventools for better private labeling reporting though. I wish I didn't need raventools and could just use SEOmoz though.

  • I see what you are thinking but take it as an investment, if you calculate witch keywords convert you will be able to rank for them. SEO takes time and why put a lot of work into ranking for bad keywords? And if the keywords dont convert you could look into that and change the page so that you do convert. SEO is just wasted time if you dont convert! Site structure, navigation and user experience should come first. Adwords is great for finding you and then position spesific pages to rank.

  • There is a theory that spiders give more credit to domains linking to yours that aren't hosted in the same place. The idea is that these other domains are probably not owned by the same company and being used to create link farms. So when you look at your competitor's link map, removing the same c block can possibly give you an idea if they are creating a bunch of sites themselves for link building.

  • Hey Laurent, The mozbot is different from the Linkscape Index, so while we are able to crawl a website or domain, it's a different set of sources that comprise the Linkscape Index. Check out that message I wrote above for the reason your site's links might not be indexed yet. Hope this helps explain! Let me know if you have any other questions that aren't addressed in that message I wrote above. Thanks Laurent!

  • Can you share the URL of the competitor's site? Alan is correct that one possible cause is a site could not be indexed by OSE, but that is not the case in this situation. That would only apply to a new site or a site with very low DA. The site you list with the problem shows a PA of 49 so it should be listed in OSE. My next thought is perhaps the site is fully flash based or otherwise has a bad navigation design. If we could see the site we could offer better feedback.

  • I am not aware of any existing tool which performs this function. Stephen's reference contacted me and offered to build such a tool, but my client was not prepared to pay the expense of having a custom tool created. There is such an incredible array of SEO tools on the market that I mainly wanted to inquire if such a tool happened to already exist. I don't see a lot of value in the tool, but wanted to ask as per my client's request. Thank you for following up.

  • Yeah I had read that, I just wasn't sure why our page was so much lower than the others, especially ones that didn't even seem to have any particularly strong links back from anything that looked particularly authoratitive.
