    Hello! Sam from Moz's Help Team here! So -  after being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. However, there are a lot of factors which can affect our ability to find and index links to your site. It's important to note that we are always adding new data to our index, but it may take some time for us to discover backlinks to your site based on factors like crawlability of the referring pages, quality of the links and the referring pages, and more. If you are not seeing links that you know you have, you may want to make sure that they can be indexed. It is also a good idea to check to see if we've indexed the page on which that link is found. If we haven't indexed the referring page yet, you won't see your link in our index. You can also add links to Link Tracking Lists. Once you add a link to your tracking lists we will add that page to be crawled. As long as it is accessible to our crawler, you should see the link in our index as soon as we can index those pages. Lastly, I have a great guide here with some things to check around why we may not have found your links yet: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/moz-isnt-finding-your-links If you'd like any further information, please feel free to pop us an email over at help@moz.com. We do also have a great guide to Domain Authority just here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority

    Hi, No, MOZ does not have any option to disavow links and you should not be worried about disavowing links in Moz. Instead, disavow them from the Google Search Console because Google is the search engine that ranks your site according to proper linking.

    Hi, Great question, Link Explorer and the Links tab of Moz Pro Campaigns are both tied to our Link index, which is constantly updating. After being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. When discovered or lost links are found, we'll update our database to reflect those changes in your scores and link counts. We prioritize the links we crawl based on a machine learning algorithm to mimic Google's index. This does not mean that DA and PA will change with every data update, though; it will only change if we find new link data for a respective site. I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly when your DA will update it depends on when we find new equity passing backlinks to your site. You can read more about our new Link Explorer tool and our index here. You can also read more about how our Link index compares with our competitors here https://backlinko.com/best-backlink-checker Feel free to reach out to help@moz.com with any further questions

    Hi snjaoieiw, To get a detailed answer from Moz staff on what DA is, you might consider searching the Q&A forum. In short, though, it is a Moz metric (not a Google or Bing metric) that takes into consideration the number (and quality) of backlinks your website has. That said, have you been working on building up high quality backlinks? -Zack

  • Hey Bill, Dave here from the Help Team! If you are finding these in Site Crawl, you can also find the referral link, which is where we found these 404 links.  Using that referral link might help you track down where in the source code these links are being found if you wanted to remove them.  Hopefully that helps to clarify!

  • As far as I understand this, to your browser and to Google, they're the same page (this really seems to only apply to the homepage, other pages "/" really matters a lot). I would not worry about changing the canonical, in fact it's technically the 'right" location of the page. When it comes to the HTTP docs, a request to the root needs "/". All modern web browsers add it back in for you even if it's not there. This is I believe why the canonical is set as it is there in yoast. I covered this in a blog as someone asked this at Pubcon this year in a keynote. http://www.winstondigitalmarketing.com/yoast-homepage-canonical-correct-include-trailing-slash/

  • ANAL, but from my understanding of the US laws (LinkedIn vs. hiQ Labs) and having worked on SerpAPI.com, if the data is public, it's in your rights to scrape it.

  • Hey there! Without knowing the example keywords you're looking at, it's hard to check on these, but I can certainly speak to how Moz calculates the Difficulty score! We look at the Difficulty scores of the top 10 rankings sites in the Google SERP. If you're looking at Keyword Explorer, you can head to the SERP analysis section of a keyword report to see exactly which sites those are. If you're seeing something odd with the scores, feel free to reach out to us at help@moz.com with a few keyword examples and we can take a closer look! For more details on how we calculate our metrics, check out this article in our Help Hub.

  • In the situation outline by the OP, these pages are noindexed. There’s no value to clutterig up crawl reports  on these pages. Block rogerbot from non-critical parts of your site, unless you want to be alerted of issues, then don’t.

  • Hi, You are welcome. No looks good. Don't exaggerate it with the density. What I gave you was just an example. You should do a proper Keyword Research. Maybe the most convenient keyword combination would be Sodium Bisulfate Pool Chemicals. But what you did now is already better than before. You should try to get some good and authoritative links now. That is going to strengthen your page and help you to be ranked better. Linkbuilding should be done regularly over time. Avoid to get 10 links in the next 14 days an then nothing for the next 365 days. Thats not good that looks very unnatural! To check how things are going you can use the campaign manager of MOZ. Its easiest and a very good tool. I guess you want to appear on Google Pakistan, so set it up for that URL. You will get regular reports how things are going. I would wait at least a 1-2 weeks for the next time to check again. Cheers, Cesare

  • In addition to OSE, ahrefs or SEMrush are awesome tools that can be used to reverse engineer a competitors link profile. If you haven't already done so, you may also want to review Rand's whiteboard Friday about getting your first 50 links to make sure you're got all the low hanging fruit before diving into other kinds of link building.

  • Hi James, You're right. In these situations, DA will not help you assess how valuable a link is. If you want to use a metric to help you assess the quality of a link from a subdomain, PA is a much better metric to look at. However, I always take DA/PA with a grain of salt. Cheers, David

  • I am using prerender to cache/render static pages to crawl agents but MOZ is not able to crawl through my website (http://www.exambazaar.com/). Hence it has a domain authority of 1/100. I have been in touch with Prerender support to find a fix for the same and have also added dotbot to the list of crawler agents in addition to Prerender default list which includes rogerbot. Do you have any suggestions to fix this? List: https://github.com/prerender/prerender-node/commit/5e9044e3f5c7a3bad536d86d26666c0d868bdfff Adding dotbot: prerender.crawlerUserAgents.push('dotbot');

  • Hi Richard, Interesting question. Google will for sure know where your IP address is located. To get the search results for your keyword combination like somebody sitting in Kansas City KS you could use the "Ad Preview and Diagnosis" Tool in AdWords (under Tools). You can also chose the location, e.g. Kansas City/KS the language/device the search query would be executed on. (Once you could simply set the location of your query on the bottom of the Google search page but this times are gone now.) --> I can confirm that your customer appears in the local pac (3rd) and organic Serps (2nd) for the above keyword combination. I am sitting in Switzerland and checked it with the Ad Preview and Diagnosis Tool in AdWords. The MOZ data might not be accurate yet for your client's website. Do you have a campaign for that client? MOZ should have crawled the site actually. It usually crawls a campaign site all 7 days but you can also initiate a crawl manually. If you don't want to have search results that are taking account of your behaviour/browse history/preferences, etc. you can switch that off actually. Go to google.com on the bottom right - Settings - Search Settings - turn off 'search history'. Hope this brings you a step forward. Cheers, Cesare

  • Yes, you can return multiple rich snippets for the same query. With SERP features, there are also several different ways to appear on the SERP for the same query. Videos, Photos, Q&A's, etc. Your mileage will vary based on how well you rank for the term, the features that are currently present, and your sites authority on the subject.

  • If this is helpful at all - if I do a search for the keyword you specified in an incognito window, your client ranks 6th for me (I'm in the UK) - I don't work in your industry, so I think your client is simply ranked quite well for this search term in Google. In Bing they rank 14th for me.

  • Hey Flyyazp! I'm Michael, the video guy here at Moz and I'm happy to chime in and offer some assistance. The camera we use is a Canon 5D Mark III with a 24-105mm lens. Igor is right, camera technology has jumped forward quite a bit since 2012, so you can pass on looking for a camcorder and go straight for a nice DSLR, even a used one if it's right for the budget. If you're just shooting a person standing in front of a whiteboard you don't need to spend the extra cash on a brand new camera with 4K technology, unless you need that feature for other videos you plan to make. An important feature you're going to want on any camera you buy will be a headphone jack which will allow you to monitor the sound input to the camera. Here is a video of me talking about how I light Whiteboard Friday and lighting features I recommend regardless of the brand you buy. In addition, our friends at Wistia made a nice little video here that will walk you through some tips for shooting video with a DSLR camera. Our mic is a Sennheiser lavalier our presenter is a Rand Fishkin (super rare). I hope this helps!
