Hello! Sam from Moz's Help Team here! So -  after being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. However, there are a lot of factors which can affect our ability to find and index links to your site. It's important to note that we are always adding new data to our index, but it may take some time for us to discover backlinks to your site based on factors like crawlability of the referring pages, quality of the links and the referring pages, and more. If you are not seeing links that you know you have, you may want to make sure that they can be indexed. It is also a good idea to check to see if we've indexed the page on which that link is found. If we haven't indexed the referring page yet, you won't see your link in our index. You can also add links to Link Tracking Lists. Once you add a link to your tracking lists we will add that page to be crawled. As long as it is accessible to our crawler, you should see the link in our index as soon as we can index those pages. Lastly, I have a great guide here with some things to check around why we may not have found your links yet: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/moz-isnt-finding-your-links If you'd like any further information, please feel free to pop us an email over at help@moz.com. Hi, No, MOZ does not have any option to disavow links and you should not be worried about disavowing links in Moz. Instead, disavow them from the Google Search Console because Google is the search engine that ranks your site according to proper linking.

Hi, Great question, Link Explorer and the Links tab of Moz Pro Campaigns are both tied to our Link index, which is constantly updating. After being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. When discovered or lost links are found, we'll update our database to reflect those changes in your scores and link counts. We prioritize the links we crawl based on a machine learning algorithm to mimic Google's index. This does not mean that DA and PA will change with every data update, though; it will only change if we find new link data for a respective site. I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly when your DA will update it depends on when we find new equity passing backlinks to your site. You can read more about our new Link Explorer tool and our index here. You can also read more about how our Link index compares with our competitors here https://backlinko.com/best-backlink-checker Feel free to reach out to help@moz.com with any further questions

Hi snjaoieiw, To get a detailed answer from Moz staff on what DA is, you might consider searching the Q&A forum. In short, though, it is a Moz metric (not a Google or Bing metric) that takes into consideration the number (and quality) of backlinks your website has. That said, have you been working on building up high quality backlinks? -Zack

  • Hey there, The first thing I'd definitely do would be (1) **creating unique content **on the main pages. Then, you want to start (2) writing relevant articles for your industry. After that, you will have something to link to from other websites. Without that, they wouldn't have any reason to link to your site. Of course, they could always link to your homepage but the back link profile should be diverse to look naturally, not only the homepage. At this point, you can start (3) reaching out to other websites in the way you found out in the videos and the training sessions you've had. Hope it helps. Cheers, Martin

  • Awesome, thank you, George! Luckily we're already doing a lot of this stuff, e.g. we agonized last week over a list of 400+ redirects It's helpful to know what to expect as well - I'll be sure to work these items into our pre/post-launch planning.

  • What framework does your website use? WordPress? Just install Yoast SEO if it does and you will be set. This will integrate the social apis. You will also be able to validate your site for pinterest and google search console among others.

  • Thanks Martijn for the reply. I didn't notice , my question was incomplete. My query, Moz crawled our website pages upto 258, where  we have on website more than 15000 pages. Why Moz crawler is failed to do so to report whole website pages issues. Or what actual our website has been facing issue, & prevent Moz not to crawl those pages as well. Rann

  • Hi there! I agree with what you're saying—the more and more paid ads on a page, the harder is it to generate clickthroughs from the organic results. While a lot of people click the ads (usually without even realizing it's an ad), there are still some people who were told growing up to never click the ads, and thus always scroll down to the organic results. While these opportunity/potential scores do seem really high in comparison with what you're seeing on the actual SERP, I would still considering optimizing a page for your desired keyword because yes, it's not ideal to be lower than all those ads, but 2) you NEED to show up in the organic under those ads if you want to generate any sort of clickthroughs. Good luck!

  • James, Thanks. I do often find significant differences in the 'www' data vs. the 'non-www', but I also understand that the Google Juice can flow from one to the other - but I think it has to do with how the 'A' record is set. What's the optimum here? How SHOULD an 'A' Record be set? Is there a difference if I want to maximize results in search? Should it be different if I want to maximize SEM? • Dear Linda, Thank you again for your quick answer. I know the question broad and it is. My questions is "what are the keywords that my target segment (say Spanish speakers in Mexico aged 13-18) use the most in Google search". This is indifferent to the topic and the idea is to understand the topics that they are interested in. Is there a way? Many Thanks,

  • Thank you for your help with this! I've only ever built one site using WordPress though - and that was for me & it didn't need to rank. It's a small company I'm doing this for, and their keywords aren't too difficult to rank for.  But none the less, I want to choose the best option for them. Is there any coding involved in using these themes? I can code a little but not a lot. Any more light you can shine on it would be greatly appreciated.

  • While Page Authority is a primary factor in measuring Keyword Difficulty, the scales are not 1:1 such that you could simply compare PA to KD and know your likelihood of ranking. However, the speaker is certainly heading in the right direction with the thought process. What I would recommend is finding what keywords the page, or pages like it, on your site already rank in the top 3 for. Create a list in Keyword Explorer of those keywords and then look at the Average Keyword Difficulty which is shown on the Keyword Explorer Lists Dashboard. You can then use that number to determine if a keyword is worth going after because you know that your page is capable of (or not capable of) ranking for terms that difficulty. I made a video of the process using Google Search Console to find the keywords here... Good Luck!

  • Hello, Whichever version of the site you want to display, (www or non-www) I would set this in the google search console as the preferred domain. You may also want to check that in your .htaccess file you have the proper redirects. One to make sure all links are redirected to https and another to make sure all links are redirected to www or non-www, whichever version you have set in the google search console. If different versions of you URL are accessible, this may be why you are seeing these issues.

  • It's best practice to include +/-100 word Category Descriptions above your product listings. Adding a useful and robust "buyers guide" below the products is also extremely helpful. I'd be less concerned about "duplicate content" warnings from crawlers if your pages are ranking well. We get plenty of warnings from DeepCrawl for pages that are ranking in the top 3 for highly competitive terms.

  • I agree with Elliott and Oleg's answers, it is better to measure performance with changes in organic traffic to the landing page that you are optimizing.  With all the personalization and increased importance on device and location, it is very difficult to measure a 'true' ranking. However, if you are set on tracking rankings, I would recommend (and use) the following: - Search Analytics Report in Google Search Console: Unfortunately only shows 90 days worth of data but it is free and will provide you data on your site's average ranking position (Avg. Position). You can adjust the filters to see the average ranking position for a specific query (or query set) or individual landing pages. - SEMRush: Personally, my favorite keyword tool (no offense Moz!). This will require signing up for a paid subscription (as the free subscription does not take you very far) but you will be able to track individual keyword rankings in 'projects'. Their least expensive plan ($99.95/month or $999.40/year) allows you to track up to 500 keywords and will provide you with organic visibility trends, individual keyword rankings (over time), average position, estimated traffic, ranking distributions, landing page reports, and more. If you are willing to spring for the 'guru' package, you can look up historical ranking and search volume data as far back as January 2012. - Moz Rank Tracker: Another great tool for tracking keyword performance over time. If you are willing to upgrade to Moz Pro, you will be able to track rankings here. What I like about Moz's rank tracker is that it allows you to track rankings against specific competitors, it allows you to track both mobile and desktop rankings side by side, and you also have the option to track keywords nationally or in a specific location. I am also a fan of the SERP features report, great for identifying featured snippet and instant answer opportunities that you may not have known were there. Moz is offering a 30 day trial, may as well give it a shot! Hope this helps, good luck finding the tool that is right for you!
