Hello! Sam from Moz's Help Team here! So -  after being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. However, there are a lot of factors which can affect our ability to find and index links to your site. It's important to note that we are always adding new data to our index, but it may take some time for us to discover backlinks to your site based on factors like crawlability of the referring pages, quality of the links and the referring pages, and more. If you are not seeing links that you know you have, you may want to make sure that they can be indexed. It is also a good idea to check to see if we've indexed the page on which that link is found. If we haven't indexed the referring page yet, you won't see your link in our index. You can also add links to Link Tracking Lists. Once you add a link to your tracking lists we will add that page to be crawled. As long as it is accessible to our crawler, you should see the link in our index as soon as we can index those pages. Lastly, I have a great guide here with some things to check around why we may not have found your links yet: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/moz-isnt-finding-your-links If you'd like any further information, please feel free to pop us an email over at help@moz.com. We do also have a great guide to Domain Authority just here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority

Hi, No, MOZ does not have any option to disavow links and you should not be worried about disavowing links in Moz. Instead, disavow them from the Google Search Console because Google is the search engine that ranks your site according to proper linking.

Hi, Great question, Link Explorer and the Links tab of Moz Pro Campaigns are both tied to our Link index, which is constantly updating. After being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. When discovered or lost links are found, we'll update our database to reflect those changes in your scores and link counts. We prioritize the links we crawl based on a machine learning algorithm to mimic Google's index. This does not mean that DA and PA will change with every data update, though; it will only change if we find new link data for a respective site. I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly when your DA will update it depends on when we find new equity passing backlinks to your site. You can read more about our new Link Explorer tool and our index here. You can also read more about how our Link index compares with our competitors here https://backlinko.com/best-backlink-checker Feel free to reach out to help@moz.com with any further questions

Hi snjaoieiw, To get a detailed answer from Moz staff on what DA is, you might consider searching the Q&A forum. In short, though, it is a Moz metric (not a Google or Bing metric) that takes into consideration the number (and quality) of backlinks your website has. That said, have you been working on building up high quality backlinks? -Zack

  • Howdy. Is the website accessible through a browser? All DNS propagated? How about robots.txt blocking? If none of these is the issue, and website has been live for couple days, then there is something wrong somewhere. Email at help@moz.com - they'll help you out Cheers:)

  • hi and thanks for the feedback i realised yesterday when i was reviewing your messages that the page i mentioned is actually quite new compared the rest of the site. I guess it will take time for the links to filter through.

  • Hello, I took a look at your site. It does come up when you search the company name, NWI Chiropratic, but maybe not for key terms that you want to rank for. I would say this is because you have not optimised any of the pages for specific keywords or location. Take the SERVICES page, the title is: Services — NWI Chiropractic The description is: Chiropractic care in Northwest Indiana. Our location is in Schererville and near Dyer, St. John, Highland, Munster, Griffith, and Merrillville. Neither of those relate to each other, nor to the content on the page. That particular page is full of images, with no alt tags and it has no writing on it what so ever, no introduction to what the services are or where the company is. Instant information should be available at the top of the page for mobile users. Google is having a hard time understanding your page is about, and will not reward you if you haven't tried to help the end user. Also consider providing a lot more valuable content on the website, and getting relevant and quality back links. You were probably lucky for a bit, as it was a new site.

  • I have two metrics..... Links that you didn't try to get and are delivering genuine traffic today.   These are from people who really like your site and are willing to give you their visitors.  Give thanks when you get these types of links.  Pay attention to where they are coming from, what type of content they are landing on and their context on the linking site.  Make more of that type of content and make it even better.  Find out what you can do to give help to the generous people who give you these links.  They are your fans and can become your strongest allies. Links within your own site that people are clicking to discover your best and most relevant content to what they are reading.   If you are not promoting your own best stuff, nobody else is going to do it for you. This is a free and powerful way to cultivate fans and allies and get people to engage your website.  Google is watching.   Make more of these links and be sure that every page on your site has some.  Use high quality images and words that elicit the click.  Test different images and words.  Make these immediately upon publishing a new page.

  • Hello, We are looking into this same issue with Shopify, we've recieved intermittent 803 and 804 error notifications from Moz on a Shopify store. Specific to these errors Shopify put forward a possible cause and we were wondering if this is correct or not. The thread on Shopify is located here: https://ecommerce.shopify.com/c/ecommerce-marketing/t/crawl-errors-337539#comment-351993 Their suggestion on what the issue may be is as follows: "I've been having a read through of this thread and one possibility for the 803 errors showing up on MOZ is that they may not be able to use SNI (Server Name Indication extension). If they don't use SNI then it would make sense that Shopify stores with an SSL certificate would pull up errors like that. We can't help troubleshoot MOZ's service directly, but that could be a good place to start with some of these errors." Would you be able to offer any feedback on this being the cause of the errors? Thanks!

  • Hi Jon, Your response is now over 2 years old and the issue is still there. When I switch between ranking for UK and GB, I get different results. For example I have 2.24% viability for GB and 2.36 for UK. Can we standardise on one so we can focus our efforts?

  • Like Chris has alluded to, they are very different tools, Hubspot from what I know and have played with is a CRM solution aimed more at the sales cycle and used to help you develop a single customer view and enable automated interactions, yes it include some metrics but mostly sales related from what I've seen. Moz on the other hand Is more for your SEO development and provides metrics on how your site performs and develops. if funds allow, I would also look to have both tools as part of my armoury... Hubspot for the wider marketing automations, journeys and sales and Moz for your sites development to help support your CRM marketing.

  • Hi Matthew, Thanks for the detailed answer. Some good advice here, but I can't say I agree with everything. In particular, it's a pretty broad statement to say that Social marketing has nothing to do with SEO. We know Google uses social media to discover new content, social shares are highly correlated with rankings, and Google has incorporated many SEO-like features into Google+ that have implications across the broader algorithm. Also, social signals are greatly incorporated into personalized results and local SERPs. There's a few other points. But I guess we both agree to learn as much as you can and question conventional wisdom. We agree more than we disagree.

  • Hi There! It is a bit difficult for me to tell from this post exactly which URL that you are referring to, but I took a look at your full site crawl and narrowed it down using the page title "Astronaut Costumes", per the code you pasted above. Of the two pages with that title, http://www.interstellarstore.com/toys-and-costumes/astronaut-costumes and http://www.interstellarstore.com/astronaut-costumes, neither is being reported in the site crawl or the page optimization reports as missing the meta description. (Page optimization actually reports that the meta descriptions are too long.) However, I definitely see that there are a large number of other pages in your crawl that are reported as missing the meta description. For the handful of those I checked, it does look like that error is being reported correctly. It looks like you've submitted a support request to our help team, so it would be very helpful if you could follow up there with specific examples of pages that are reported as missing the meta description, but that actually have the meta description in the source code so they can look into this further for you. We look forward to hearing back from you there soon. Chiaryn
