Hello! Sam from Moz's Help Team here! So -  after being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. However, there are a lot of factors which can affect our ability to find and index links to your site. It's important to note that we are always adding new data to our index, but it may take some time for us to discover backlinks to your site based on factors like crawlability of the referring pages, quality of the links and the referring pages, and more. If you are not seeing links that you know you have, you may want to make sure that they can be indexed. It is also a good idea to check to see if we've indexed the page on which that link is found. If we haven't indexed the referring page yet, you won't see your link in our index. You can also add links to Link Tracking Lists. Once you add a link to your tracking lists we will add that page to be crawled. As long as it is accessible to our crawler, you should see the link in our index as soon as we can index those pages. Lastly, I have a great guide here with some things to check around why we may not have found your links yet: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/moz-isnt-finding-your-links If you'd like any further information, please feel free to pop us an email over at help@moz.com. We do also have a great guide to Domain Authority just here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority

Hi, No, MOZ does not have any option to disavow links and you should not be worried about disavowing links in Moz. Instead, disavow them from the Google Search Console because Google is the search engine that ranks your site according to proper linking.

Hi, Great question, Link Explorer and the Links tab of Moz Pro Campaigns are both tied to our Link index, which is constantly updating. After being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. When discovered or lost links are found, we'll update our database to reflect those changes in your scores and link counts. We prioritize the links we crawl based on a machine learning algorithm to mimic Google's index. This does not mean that DA and PA will change with every data update, though; it will only change if we find new link data for a respective site. I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly when your DA will update it depends on when we find new equity passing backlinks to your site. You can read more about our new Link Explorer tool and our index here. You can also read more about how our Link index compares with our competitors here https://backlinko.com/best-backlink-checker Feel free to reach out to help@moz.com with any further questions

Hi snjaoieiw, To get a detailed answer from Moz staff on what DA is, you might consider searching the Q&A forum. In short, though, it is a Moz metric (not a Google or Bing metric) that takes into consideration the number (and quality) of backlinks your website has. That said, have you been working on building up high quality backlinks? -Zack

  • Hi there! Just jumping in in case anyone else stumbles on this thread, you can now find keywords a site is ranking for using Keyword Explorer which is included in your Moz Pro subscription. You can read more on our blog and on the Help Hub https://moz.com/blog/keyword-explorer-identify-competitive-keyword-opportunities https://moz.com/help/guides/keyword-explorer/ranking-keywords Cheers! Jo

  • Thank you! Yep - I redirect the .html files to the https domain to as specific a page as possible. Its good to know that I don't have to factor in the CNAME or A records into the issue. It sounds like I am doing the right things from what you say - yet I do have some redirect chain warnings in my Moz crawl.

  • Hi Roman, I get that, I am just not seeing why moz crawler even found links such as these to throw a 404. I donot think these rss feeds existed on my site at any point. So i would like to find why they are coming up as 404 and fix it properly without redirects. Thanks,

  • One more sidenote - you can also use inbound link auditing tools like Moz Open Site Explorer, AHREFS, or especially Cognitive SEO to collect as many of your incoming links as possible, then filter them for which ones 404 and then you'll know which external pages contain the broken incoming links. CognitiveSEO is especially well set up to do this, but it's not a cheap tool (Does have a free trial though). Hope that helps? Paul

  • Hi YGF, Congratulations on launching your new site. As others have mentioned in this thread, MozRank is a predictive popularity "score" that comes from Linkscape, the SEOmoz link index of the Internet. The short answer to your question is: in order to get MozRank, make sure you earn good, high-authority links to your site. Linkscape generally finds most important links on the web in 30-60 days, but sometimes it can take longer. This is especially the case if the links are buried beneath layers of navigation or not well linked to. Just so you know, MozRank is a predictive metric based on, and similar to PageRank. Earning MozRank in itself will not help your site to rank, but there is a correlation between sites with high MozRank and ranking potential. The highest correlation with ranking potential is actually Domain Authority. Regardless, keep working to build high quality links to your site, and they should show up in Linkscape soon. As soon as they are in Linkscape, new MozRank calculations are automatically made for your site. The next update is scheduled for April 10th. You can find the update calendar here. Hope this helps. Best of luck with your SEO!

  • Ideally you would indeed change the title to Sweaters Page 2. Most CMSs have this type of functionality or plugins that will allow it. The best way would be to add a plugin or functionality that will let you use a template for this type of thing, so when your code recognizes it is on Page X, it automatically appends " Page X" to the title you've set for Page 1. If you don't address this issue, Google may have more trouble deciding which page is more valuable and thus which to show - page 1 of your category or page 47. Obviously you know you will always have a Page 1, but the number of additional pages will vary, so typically you spend more time optimizing Page 1 and thus want it to be the one that ranks higher. You can handle it with a canonical so pages other than 1 list Page 1 as the canonical, but then you have fewer total pages indexed and able to show.

  • Alexa and DA are completely synthetic attempt by third-parties to try to guess what search engines might think of a website. Alexa, in particular, is a totally unreliable way of measuring the influence of most sites. If these measures have changed significantly, but with no change from your site's own data (e.g. Analytics, Search Console, careful rank testing etc) then it's far more likely that the third-party tools are having problems, not your site. Put another way - those third-party tools are hints. If they indicate potential problems, you'll need to assess actual website performance to determine if there's a real problem, or if the 3rd party tools are misreporting. Hope that makes sense? Paul

  • We own (or have a membership) in all SEO tools just to understand who is doing what. SEO powersuite is a cool set of tools (website auditor, rank tracker, seo spyglas and link assistant) which are used as client software (not SAS). They follow different approaches and have a good understanding on SEO and how to rank well. These tools will help you, even if you have other SEO tools. They run promotions where you can get huge discounts, for example 70% and you pay only 200 USD for their base package and you might think or have the impression that it is a one time payment. But this is not true and a subscription update is many times more expensive than to buy a new license. Basically the bad point with them is that they cheat you with subscription updates you are forced to do to run the software. They have many forced updates, for example the cloud update or the "software Search algo updates and Maintenance plan". To update a single product (of the 4 or 5 products they have) cost 477,60 USD for 12 months as regular price (means you have to pay 4 x 477,60 USD = 1910,40 USD for a 12 month update). The 1910 USD is just for "professional edition", on the "enterprise edition" it is probably many times more expensive. As their pricing policy is they offer some "friendship discounts" but still the pricing policy of bringing people in with 299 USD for the products and than making very expensive forced update plans is not what I prefer. Their software is not bad but in the end you can have MOZ or Semrush for the same price or even cheaper. (PS: You can find some of their pricing here https://www.link-assistant.com/prices.html#search-algo-updates but keep in mind that you have to buy all the packages for all the products)

  • I have a ton of Tumblr blogs but their links don't show in any of the tools. I'm hoping that the footer and header links count for something, and that Moz and the other tools just don't spider them because in general it's not worth it. One of my tumblr blogs has a page authority of 39, so it's nice to think of that juice floating around my web properties, but I may be wishful thinking.
