Hello! Sam from Moz's Help Team here! So -  after being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. However, there are a lot of factors which can affect our ability to find and index links to your site. It's important to note that we are always adding new data to our index, but it may take some time for us to discover backlinks to your site based on factors like crawlability of the referring pages, quality of the links and the referring pages, and more. If you are not seeing links that you know you have, you may want to make sure that they can be indexed. It is also a good idea to check to see if we've indexed the page on which that link is found. If we haven't indexed the referring page yet, you won't see your link in our index. You can also add links to Link Tracking Lists. Once you add a link to your tracking lists we will add that page to be crawled. As long as it is accessible to our crawler, you should see the link in our index as soon as we can index those pages. Lastly, I have a great guide here with some things to check around why we may not have found your links yet: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/moz-isnt-finding-your-links If you'd like any further information, please feel free to pop us an email over at help@moz.com. We do also have a great guide to Domain Authority just here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority

Hi, No, MOZ does not have any option to disavow links and you should not be worried about disavowing links in Moz. Instead, disavow them from the Google Search Console because Google is the search engine that ranks your site according to proper linking.

Hi, Great question, Link Explorer and the Links tab of Moz Pro Campaigns are both tied to our Link index, which is constantly updating. After being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. When discovered or lost links are found, we'll update our database to reflect those changes in your scores and link counts. We prioritize the links we crawl based on a machine learning algorithm to mimic Google's index. This does not mean that DA and PA will change with every data update, though; it will only change if we find new link data for a respective site. I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly when your DA will update it depends on when we find new equity passing backlinks to your site. You can read more about our new Link Explorer tool and our index here. You can also read more about how our Link index compares with our competitors here https://backlinko.com/best-backlink-checker Feel free to reach out to help@moz.com with any further questions

Hi snjaoieiw, To get a detailed answer from Moz staff on what DA is, you might consider searching the Q&A forum. In short, though, it is a Moz metric (not a Google or Bing metric) that takes into consideration the number (and quality) of backlinks your website has. That said, have you been working on building up high quality backlinks? -Zack

  • You can add 5 campaign in SEOmoz for tracking your competitors, but: If you change competitors, you lose any historical data for any (old) competitor you replace you can't add more competitors to a campaign once an initial limit has been set, so I couldn't go from 3 to 5 competitors in a campaign I updated recently

  • Hi Robert: I just subscribed to Ahrefs and see all the links that are missing in MOZ. Oddly, when I set up a link tracking list on MOZ, 4 of the 6 missing links got indexed within a week. Overall, I find ahrefs to be a better tool. Only think I don't like about it is the lack of a Question and Answer section.

  • Hi, i need help. Spam score is currently 63%, I did this (you successfully uploaded a disavow links file (dosavow links.txt) containing 46 domains and 315 URLs.) How much should I wait to change? URL: https://www.neueabnehmen.de/

  • Hi Scott, As I've said before, having a lot of noindexed pages is not an issue.  What you should focus your efforts is in finding any mistakenly noindexed page. And yes, Yoast has a config that makes archive and tag pages noindex. Hope it helps. Best luck. GR

  • Hi there, The URL structure will remain the same? If so, in the .htaccess file of the subdomain, you should add the following after the RewriteEngine On: RewriteEngineOn RewriteCond%{HTTP_HOST}^shop.domain.co.uk$[NC] RewriteRule(.*)https://www.domain.co.uk/$1 [R=301,L] this should do the trick to redirect https://shop.domain.co.uk/product-category/great-merchandise/?product_order=desc to https://www.domain.co.uk/product-category/great-merchandise/?product_order=desc I hope this helped

  • Ok, I made a quick test of your robot.txt file and looks fine, https://www.threecounties.co.uk/robots.txt Then I made a test https://httpstatus.io/ to check the status code of your robot.txt file and show me 200 status code (So it's fine) Also, you need to make sure that your robot.txt file is accessible for the Rogerbot (Moz crawler) This day the hosting providers have become very strict with third-party crawlers This includes Moz, Majestic SEO, Semrush and Ahrefs. Here you can find all the possible sources of the problem and recommended solutions https://moz.com/help/guides/moz-pro-overview/site-crawl/unable-to-crawl Regards

  • Overall, always use what the most naturally sounding anchor text is in a content-heavy link, or for navigation purposes best describes what the page is about. But, from an SEO strategy standpoint I would say that the anchor text "places to visit in Morocco" is a stronger choice. Hope that was helpful!

  • I'm seeing something very similar, except the inbound links are all for my site (not a competitor.) This isn't intentional, and I can't figure out why/how it's happening. Did you make any progress on this? Every link is showing the exact same Shopper Approved review (identical text.) The only difference is that the query in the search box is unique. "https://search.aol.com/reviews?q=..." There are over 600 of these inbound links, all linking to (1) our homepage, and (2) our Shopper Approved page. Both are followed links. Any ideas? I'm going to reach out to Shopper Approved and see if they have anything to say, but I have a feeling that'll be a dead end.

  • Very late respond, but as I see this post is still getting viewed maybe this can help somebody else DashThis works great for seo, digital marketing and social media automated reporting. You just have to plug-in your sources and you're good to go! Your reports update themselves automatically whenever you need it to. You can also clone your reports from a client to another just by changing the source...everything will update with the right data.  It’s integrated with over 30 different sources (Google Analytics, Adwords, Moz, Ahrefs, and a lot more). You can even schedule automatic email dispatches of your reports so that the system does the work for you. You can explore some more details about our SEO reporting tool features We’re an easy-to-use but powerful tool, but our true strength is our customer service. We’ve been known to get up in the middle of the night to help someone on the other side of the world… because they’re already in the middle of their work day and we don’t want them to wait for anything! There is a multitude of tools like ours (for different needs, budgets, etc), and a quick search can get you at least a dozen. Most offer free trials (ours does), so it’s important to get a feel for the tool to make sure it’s what you want and you feel comfortable with it. But, again, ideally, it should almost be like a “set-it-and-forget-it” kind of thing! Disclaimer: I work for DashThis - but I wouldn’t love it any less if I didn’t! Renee

  • Be very careful about changing hierarchy or structure.  It does have an effect on where the pages rank. Any pages that are ranking well (i.e. position 0 to 5) don't even touch them, in fact anything on the first page I would be slow to alter without very good reason. Anything that is on the second page or worse you haven't got a lot to lose, so restructuring probably would make sense.

  • Hi Mouse DA is only a metric which MOZ came up with - it doesn't exist outside of MOZ and is only a suggestion of the comparative strength of the domain (or page if it's PA). It's a combination of on-page SEO elements, content and backlinks. If you create the best possible themed content on every page, including the homepage then this is the first part of increasing DA. Acquiring backlinks from high authority sites, the higher DA the better but even sites with a lower DA can help if they are relevant to your industry and are of good quality. (no follow links can also be tracked by Google so don't just discount them - a balance of 75%/25% is recommended so it doesn't look contrived) If you are chasing a higher DA because a higher manager has instructed you to ask him/her why! lol It doesn't automatically guarantee more visitors! You might be better setting up a content sharing strategy through blogs and Social Media! Regards Nigel
