Howdy Moz Fans,
When using a Facebook Pixel Integration plugin it sticks a small pixel on all your pages.
Who votes that you should "no follow" this link? Interested to hear opinions on this.
Example destination it sticks on the page is
Not a major issue, but it does flag up about 3000 times on Screaming Frog as it doesnt have a image alt....

Google bang on about including rich content! You would think that they would see value in users of a website being able to directly view reviews from their own avenue! Hey ho, I guess it sits in the Google + card... maybe it will happen in the future!

I guess I was wondering if the MOZ Bot only followed pages that were in the sitemap. It was generated by Screaming Frog I have trusted it to include all relevant pages!
I have put in a more detailed description in the response below. Overall I need to investigate further but i'm satisfied that the sitemap has not caused the drop!

To elaborate.
There were about 80,000 pages and I used canonical, no index, and redirects to clean up a rather large mess of filter URL's and dup content.
That dropped the pages to about 14k. Then I submitted the sitemap last month and now the crawl only found 4k pages.
Further investigation is needed on my behalf but I wanted to double check that this sudden drop was not because of a sitemap! Thanks for clarifying that!

Yes there has been a big clean up of pages. There were over 80,000 to begin with. I managed to get that down to about 14k but then last month MOZ bot only crawled about 4,000 pages.
I was just a bit worried that the sitemap generated by Screaming Frog was incorrect and therefore that was the reason for the drop.
I was referring mainly to the MOZ site crawl. I guess I was worried that the MOZ bot only followed the sitemap!
There were loads of filter URL's and all sorts going on so it's a bit of a spiders web!

So I went for the Rel-Canonical option and also no indexed the filters and it worked a treat! No loss in rankings at all and site showing organic growth!

Have you set up a Google + account? - https://www.google.com/business/
Set one up and fill in all your company details, photos etc.
then verify your domain on it.
Also get a your address verified by having a Google postcard sent (or sometimes you can do it via a landline)
Then get a couple of reviews.
Get the above sorted and it should show up in no-time!

Yes,
Google have been trying to stop people gaming their "local search" feature.
People are listing their business as "somewhere customers can visit" with opening hours etc, when in fact it is a home address or they are not at that address at all.
I had a client that didn't give Google the information they wanted when they called and they deleted their Google + listing that had 100+ genuine reviews! I had to ring Google and we had to take pictures of outside and inside the office to prove they were at that address.
It is now listed again! PHEW
Google are being quite aggressive with their approach so I would make sure your listing is accurate and staff are ready to answer any questions about your location and business hours.
I understand what you are asking here! It is not reported to have a major impact as far as I am aware.
I would be more inclined to point out the importance of having a good redirect strategy and also understanding how you tell Google you have moved domains within the search console.
I have had very successful experiences with moving a site to a new domain, but make sure you tick all the boxes so you don't lose your current rankings.
I have experienced something similar this year - it's not something I've seen before.
Everyday it can change. One day my client is number 5 for "keyword" - the next day it has gone.
This has been happening for about 3 months now.
I am putting faith in Google eventually settling down and keeping them on the first page. It is a very difficult one to explain though and I don't have the answers.
This is not about having a better SEO strategy - this is about something I'm calling GHOST RANKINGS
Anyone else seen this .. and what happened?
P.S I'm am incognito when I check. I also track it in MOZ rankings. I have also got people to check from different locations - this is not the reason!

Sounds a very tricky one!
You could look to use an index-sitemap.xml so you can list all of your separate subdomain-sitemaps. that way you'll only need to submit one single sitemap.
I would recommend looking at Screaming Frog to help you do this.
