Creating a Landing Page with a Separate Domain to Control Bounce Rate
I fully agree with Egol - the moment you start "manipulating" traffic just to please Google, you're taking the wrong direction. I can maybe work for a few months, even years, but in the end it's always a bad strategy. The only valid strategy is trying to figure out how to please your visitors, and traffic & Google will follow. It's not always easy to cope with the pressure for to change things, because your competitors are doing it that way, or because you have certain targets, but you'll win in the long run.

Guest Blog post best practice considering time/energy
Thanks for the answer guys. I would agree guest posting like all other tactics might not work is abused or over-done. But is the strategy is only post the unique articles ones, how much of it can be borrowed into another article while still maintaining it's "unique" factor? ex: 0% 50%, 80%, etc.

Anything new if determining how many of a sites pages are in Google's supplemental index vs the main index?
Thanks Slava I had to learn a few words of Russian to figure out how it works, but it is a very interesting product. While I don't think we will ever know exactly whats in the main vs the supplemental I think these results are close to what I thought, based on all the other methods I have tried. Chris

301 redirects in Wordpress vs. making old posts that you no longer want your audience to see private.
You can delete it as long as the 301 redirect still occurs. 301 signals to search engines "hey, this page has permanently moved to this new location so whatever signals you had for this page, send over to the new location and ignore any content on the old url" So be sure to set your 301 redirects at the server level (via htaccess on Linux or via IIS on Windows servers) if you plan on deleting the page. I know yoast SEO plugin has an option to redirect to another page in their settings for the post/page (in this scenario, you wouldn't delete the post/page).

Google certification
I agree. Google should make the tests very difficult and require a very high score for a person to say that they are "certified by google". The test is easy and only 75% is needed to be "certified". Do you want a person who does not know 25% of the facts running your $20,000 per month campaigns. That means that they are blowing $5000 per month. Google needs a kick in the pants.

Similar Several Articles or One Article
I would write one authoritative article that is the best on the web for this topic. It would have lots of high quality photos and be clearly divided into subheadings so that a person scanning can find what he is looking for. An article that immediately impresses people with images, breadth and length has a better chance of being shared than a large number of articles that cover only snippets of the topic. Long articles also pull in nice amounts of longtail traffic because they have a huge diversity of words on a page.

Measure the impact of SEO on a relaunch of a page
You could also track the average position & the keywords in the Landing page report of GWT - as GWT only keeps data for the last two months - you could download the data on a regular basis and check if there is an impact (keywords used to get to the page / avg. position) As mentioned by Chris - you can also use the Google Analytics Landing page report and check if there is an increase in organic traffic on the page and if other vital parameters (like bouncerate, time on page, pageviews/visit,...evolve in the right direction) rgds Dirk

Does alt tag optimization benefit search rankings (not image search) at all?
Hi Rosemary, As Ryan and Travis already mentioned, Alt Text is definitely treated as UI/UX optimization. However, to my knowledge, i wasn't aware that Google removed Alt Text as a ranking factor. Although it maybe not be on the top of the list of ranking factors, but it is definitely something that provides Google knowledge on what your page and/or image is about. I'm currently working with an agency and alt text is one of items that were suggested to optimize so I would suggest to continue optimizing the alt text. Hope this helps.
