Since site:mysite.com *** -sljktf stopped working to find pages in the supplemental index several years ago has anyone found another way to identify content that has been regulated to the supplemental index?

Not sure how accurate this is but:

https://www.google.com/search?q=site:site.com&start=990&filter=1 (if any pages are in supplemental index, would say "In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the ### already displayed.")

        https://www.google.com/search?q=site:site.com&start=990&filter=0 (shows omitted results)

difference in # of results = pages in supplemental index.

          Chris,

Since my first language is Russian, I have access to the information on Russian SEO websites and forums.

Here is the tool they use: http://xseo.in/indexed

          This is how it works:

          1. Google for site:yourdomain.com to see how many pages of your website are indexed total.
          2. Google for site:yourdomain.com/& to see how many pages are in the main index.
          3. Then you subtract the first number from the second number to find out your supplemental index.

I am not pretending that this method is correct, but this is just what is popular over there and can be one of the additional methods that can be used to get some additional insights on the SEO health of your website.

            Thanks Slava

I had to learn a few words of Russian to figure out how it works, but it is a very interesting product.  While I don't think we will ever know exactly whats in the main vs the supplemental I think these results are close to what I thought, based on all the other methods I have tried.

            Chris

            • My beta site (beta.website.com) has been inadvertently indexed. Its cached pages are taking traffic away from our real website (website.com). Should I just "NO INDEX" the entire beta site and if so, what's the best way to do this? Please advise.
