Old site to new WordPress site - Client concerned about Yahoo Ranking
Thanks for the comments. I would agree but he told me he has been paying someone to help him work with Google to remove the penalties. He said he wished he would have talked with me first because I gave him the same advice you would have given. He said that Google finally got back with him and said his site should be on the "up and up" soon. Thanks for sharing.

Redirection Problem
Hi Carl, You should be able to do this with one rule: Options +FollowSymLinks RewriteEngine on RewriteRule (.*) [newdomain.co.uk] [R=301,L] Give this a shot and see if it works. It should direct http://www.olddomain.com/villa_rental.php to www.newdomain.com/villa_rental.php and so forth. Cheers, Jane

Localised results always been returned for a query, how do you handle this?
Thank you everyone, lot of interesting information. We'll take the approach suggested by Miriam of building up organic authority slowly and we're already on with Adwords (this site is only 5 months old so it was the obvious choice over the winter). I'm also going to follow Rob's advice and focus on a few local areas based on Analytics to try and get a bit more visibility until we build up some domain authority. Thanks again, Rodney

Do Wikipedia links add value?
If you have good content on your site, there's a good chance that someone will add a link to your site from WIkipedia if it's appropriate for the topic. That happened to me and my site, and I can tell you that the links from Wikipedia helped: and I even see traffic from Wikipedia. I wouldn't be concerned whether or not the links are going to hurt your site: they will help establish trust. If your business is established enough and is a public company, for example, there's a good chance that you either have a Wikipedia page for your company or you should start creating one. You'll need plenty of neutral informational type of mentions (news articles, etc.) that establishes your business's credibility. One important thing to note here is that Wikipedia is a part of the Knowledge Graph, and it's important to get your site/business/link mentioned in the Knowledge Graph. Wikipedia is one way, but you can also participate in Freebase, which will help, as well.

Editing Community Profile not possible
Hi there! Thanks for writing in to Q&A! I ran a few tests adding your new website, and I have a troubleshooting idea for you! When you add your new site, make sure there are no spaces before or after the actual URL. I tried adding your site with spaces, and I got the same "There was a problem saving your custom URLs" error. I hope that helps! If you're still having problems, shoot us an email at help@moz.com! Have a fabulous rest of your day! Erin

I'm not canceling my MOZ subscription, but just so I know: if I want to cancel my MOZ subscription, can I do this per month, or per year?
Hi Sophie, You can cancel at anytime. If you need to cancel twice in a year, that's fine - and you can reactivate later. You'll still receive access to the tools for any amount of time you paid for. So for example, if you cancel 5 days after your last billing cycle, because you already paid for the month, you'll still have full access to the tools for the full month. Hope this clears things up. (let me know if it doesn't) Cyrus

403 Error on WMT but not on MOZ?
Hi Adam! Thanks for writing in to Q&A! Let's dive right into this nitty gritty! There are a lot of reasons you could be seeing these data discrepancies. If you're seeing more GWT errors, it could be because they have 'discovered links' through different means. Moz starts with your home page and uses recursive crawling to find pages on your site. We keep crawling until we stop finding unique links, or until we hit your page crawl limit. Bottom line, when we crawl your site your homepage is the only seed. We know that Google uses multiple seeds, so it could be possible Google is indexing more pages that way. 403 errors are agent specific. There's also a possibility that on a server level you're blocking WMT from crawling, but not rogerbot. I looked into your account, and it looks like we're only crawling about 3,500 pages. Also, we generally limit our crawls to about 200 links per page. When I looked into your account, I saw that in most cases you had well beyond 200 internal links per page. We have a few different options moving forward. To help you further I need examples of the following: -specific URLs that show GWT errors, but don't show errors on Moz. -a link hierarchy from that URL that goes back to your homepage. I want to respect your privacy, so if you'd like to take this conversation offline, please email us at help@moz.com! I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions! Have a great rest of your Thursday! Erin

Bot or Virus Creating Bad Links?
Appreciate the different responses. Sounds like not much to do but keep an eye on it and see where it goes. May have to disavow a bunch of links, but if that is the worst of it, then not too bad. Thanks!

GA reporting strange/inaccurate landing pages?
We had the same issue with one of our client's reports so I did a little digging and came across this post from Jaymerica Industries. They have some good info as to why this may be occurring. http://www.jayratkowski.com/cart-top-google-analytics-landing-page/

Noindex pages being indexed
Thanks for taking the time to look at the site. Not sure why the code is coming in the wrong place it is using a magento seo plugin so will need to chase them up on that. Just searched a random selection of pages and the code seems to be in the header section on all of those, so it seems there are some pages not playing nicely. I would like to index the product pages but there are over 250,000 items pulled from the merchants and no chance of writing that much unique content so I feel safest to noindex them all. The main traffic strategy will be to use content which will promote items, such as fashion advice pieces etc. In the example you give, that seems to be a problem with the categories, will check that out, thanks for pointing it out.
