When Site:Domain Search Run on Google, SSL Error Appears on One URL, Will this Harm Ranking
Hi Kingalan, Feel free to mark the response as good / thumbs up / answered. To answer the other question. Should you have an SSL, last year I would have said no if you don't collect any user information. However, today my answer would be a little more murky. Google recently announced they are in fact factoring HTTPS in their algorithm as a ranking factor. To have HTTPS you would then need a SSL, to get an SSL you then need a dedicated IP address (you may already have one). If you are not hosting your own website you then have to pay for SSL and possibly the dedicated IP in addition to the normal hosting cost. The benefit right now, probably wouldn't be immediate as this is a relatively new announcement. However, if you think about why Google would incorporate it into a ranking factor you really understand that it makes since. To get an SSL you have to verify your domain with a trusted 3rd party, and have a dedicated IP, these 3rd parties are competing for your money so they often offer fraud insurance which looks good to users (which is what Google cares about). Now that last part of the statement can be expanded on to a full blown article, as Google makes nothing from users and everything from businesses. Suffice to say, in the end Google wants to serve the best user experience results, and if a website goes through the process of getting an SSL all other things being equal that website should rank higher. Hope that all makes sense and is helpful. Don

UK Times Pay wall effect on links?
I think that only works for the google news bot but does not work for general crawling and passing pr, But I could be wrong. But if Martijn is correct, the question is does the uk times allow google bot allow access to that page. A quick test would be search for a line of text from the article and see if google links to the correct page. If it does not get a hit then either google has not crawled that page yet or can't crawl the page. And if its been a few weeks and it still can't get a hit in google search then it most likely that its not crawlable ( as is a big site you would expect a normal page to have been well crawled in that time frame) Side note: I think it would be a good test for someone to setup a paywall page which links to a page with no other back links and see if google can pick that page up ( maybe give it anchor text of a load of jibberish and see if that page ranks for that jibberish)

Php 301 redirect
Hi, Not meta tags. If no other way, You should do it with PHP header() function. <code>header("HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently"); header("Location: /somelocation");</code> But you need to add some conditions to determine if the page should be redirected. For example to redirect /example.html to https://www.new-domain.com/example you need to write something like: if (isset($_SERVER['REQUEST_URI']) && parse_url($_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'], PHP_URL_PATH) == '/example.html') {header('HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently');header('Location: https://www.new-domain.com/example');exit();} It can be a lot of code, if you need to redirect many pages. In this case, You can try to use PHP 301 Redirect Generator - https://www.301-redirect.online/php-header-location-generator

How to improve your CTR?
Hmmm. Sometimes it just seems to go like that. And, yes, I suspect Adwords may be the cause. I experience something similar with a certain location based keyword that is ranked #1 and have to use Adwords to get the required clicks. And yet, another similar location keyword we target can achieve the same click throughs at a lower ranking without Adwords.

Is Link Weight Lost Moving from HTTP to HTTPS?
According to Google's saying on 301 redirect link dilution, you should lose some of the weight carried by those links. However, as Google just revealed that HTTPS sites get a slight, minimal in fact, chance to do better in search results, HUNDREDS of sites are moving to SSL. Of all the pages that I've been tracking and reading, there was no change at all in rankings by switching to HTTPS, anyway is too soon to assume conclusions, the statement was released last week, so all those sites I am reading about are just "too new" in HTTPS to take conclusions. My guts tell me that these 301 should act the same way as any other 301 does (diluting some of the link weight), or it could be yet another way to cheat Google, but will see what happens. I myself moved my site over the weekend to HTTPS with 301, haven't see any change, but I guess what I can loose in the 301 redirects can be gained by using SSL?

Google Remarketing Targeting
It's absolutely possible to exclude converted visitors from remarketing in Google Adwords. We do it every day, it would be the best to connect your Google Analytics account to your Google Adwords account. By doing this it will make it possible to use your segments as remarketing lists. This will make it possible to create a segment for converted visitors and use it as an audience within targeting to exclude them.

Adwords: Decrease mobile bid for only certain ad groups?
I have used conversion optimizer a few times, and each time, it basically destroyed everything. Enhanced CPC sometimes makes things MINIMALLY better. I think conversion optimizer would work better if I had ads that were long-running, but I tend to be constantly pausing things and changing things.

The way to solve this is actually using both Canonical and hreflang tags in all the pages that have duplicates. I remember answering a similar question that I am sure you will find it useful here: http://moz.com/community/q/custom-hreflang-tags-in-wp-using-with-yoast

I know lots of people who have two domains in same sector on the same server. If there content is unique and very different and they are not heavily interlinked then I would be comfortable with that.

Does nofollow link has any effect on link building
Hi, In additional to having a natural link profile, nofollow links have other benefits ,aside from thinking SEO, such as driving traffic and getting more brand visibility for your website. If you're getting more traffic from visitors who wants to learn more about your site, even if it's a nofollow link, it's definitely beneficial to your business. In SEO regards, by getting more traffic and these visitors spending more time on your site might give Search Engine a signal that your site is relevant and brings value to your visitors. However, nofollow links can still affect your link building if you're doing some black hat tricks with it such as commenting in every article. You might get a manual penalty. You can learn more on how nofollow links affect your ranking here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QSEqypgIJME That's my 2 cents.
