Is it a problem to use a 301 redirect to a 404 error page, instead of serving directly a 404 page?
in webmaster tools 404 are going gradually down for desktop and now suddenly going up for mobile for pages that are not linked to for months.

International SEO: What to do when you're using a ccTLD and want to go global
Hi Jimmy, Great to hear from you. My initial reaction is that it might be trickier to rank with the .co.uk, as well. Context wise, I hope this helps... this would be for a B2B website that sells into various countries, including the likes of Spain, Italy, Germany, as well as China, Vietnam, Thailand and more. Primarily we'd be looking to rank for our brand name in various different languages, e.g. simplified Chinese, Thai, German, all from a .co.uk. My initial suspicion is that a .co.uk may be trickier than getting a .com or country specific TLDs ranking (e.g. brandname.cn brandname.de), especially with Baidu which doesn't seem to have a lot of love for .co.uks. Based on this, would you stick with .co.uk, go global with a .com or country specific with ccTLDs for each target market? Holly

Can panda penalize News publisher sites?
Matt Cutts has a couple of things to say about news websites. One is that keeping a developing story on one webpage and updating it is a way to have a news page that can build rank. Another is that news websites that are authoritative and/or do their own original writing can do well. Here are the links to the two relevant videos. (Kind of old, I know.) http://youtu.be/9FrzDyRqsY4 http://youtu.be/mtbNpeYP_OM We have news on our website (not at all the major focus - just as a handy reference for users) and it is also valuable to us because Google news picks it up, but since those pages weren't getting traffic after the day the news story appeared, I started removing old ones to be on the safe side. (Though that might not be workable for a site whose main focus is news and needs to keep living archives.)

How long until competetive link metrics show up?
It's after the 28th and there still isn't a single piece of information in the screens for competetive links in any of my campaigns.

Wondering why PR hasn't increased?
I agree with all the opinions voiced here. PR isn't really relevant any more. With all the algorithm changes from Google, it can be tough to keep up. I always suggest following Matt Cutts' blog and video channel. Any time there is even the hint of a change, he usually mentions what is going on at Google. He is currently on leave, but his blog and video channel provides great information!

Cant delete pages in MOZ for On grade pages
Hey there, I'm sorry that you are having trouble deleting reports from the on-page grader! Reports that are automatically generated based on your rankings can't be deleted from your campaign, but any URL/keyword combination that you have added manually should just disappear as soon as you hit the delete button. If you aren't seeing that happen can you please email us directly at help@moz.com with examples of the reports you are trying to delete so that we can investigate further? I look forward to hearing from you there soon. Chiaryn Help Team Ninja

Finding out Who has high DA\PA and getting a backlink
Keep in mind that Domain Authority is a Moz metric, and not a metric that the search engines use for ranking. It's correlated with how well things tend to rank, but shouldn't be used as the final judgment for a link. Chapter 7 of the Beginner's Guide to SEO at http://moz.com/beginners-guide-to-seo deals with links and can give some good ideas of how to get started.

Google indexing nofollow links
When you say "link profiles" it leads me to believe that you are using Open Site Explorer or some other SEO Tool. No SEO tool can crawl every page on the web, which is why the link may not show up on some client's backlink reports. See if it is reported in Google Webmaster Tools or if the page is indexed by Google. If the page is indexed, you know Google is aware of the link.

Is the Google Local Descriptor compatible with MOZ Local?
Thanks for clarifying things. The fact that Google is not an actual partner, despite the fact that you use them as an option validate listings, seems to be the key here. We'll try it the way you suggest, manually changing after validation (in the few situations where the client insists, or there are valid reasons for adding the level of detail).

Should I built a microsite for client's new service or add a new section to an existing new website?
Exact match/partial match TLDs have been losing weight for a while now. They're still somewhat important, but is it important enough to fragment your efforts? The hyphenated stuff should be right out, especially for what you're considering. Without knowing the main site you're working on, I can say that you should focus on one property. If you were a general, would you rather commit your resources to two fronts, or one? It sounds like you would head down the road of constantly new domains. Don't do that. That approach is a disadvantage for both your client and yourself. Not only would there be diminishing returns on your efforts, there would be diminishing returns from The Googles algorithm. It sounds like you're going to have to fight the decreasing weight of a partial match or exact match domain to begin with. Focus on one property. Make a new section. You will probably save on development time. No one on the face of the planet saves on content time.

Problem creating campaign
Hey There, Sorry that you are running into this issue with your campaign! Unfortunately, we can't track a site at specific path such as .html, so that may be why you are running into this issue. You should be receiving an error when you try to input that URL, and I am having my engineers look into why the error isn't showing correctly. In order to track www.sweetlimeuk.com/index.html, you will actually need to create the campaign using the URL sweetlimeuk.com. You will receive a notice that this page redirects to the index.html page, but you can just select "No, track the redirect" to move past that. Here is a screenshot: http://www.screencast.com/t/xjJK4h7mhKxq I hope this helps! Please let me know if I can help you with anything else. Chiaryn Help Team Ninja

Value in adding rel=next prev when page 2-n are "noindex, follow"?
I don't see an upset for keeping rel=next prev, I see only an upside. Google doesn't have to listen to the noindex tag, although they almost always do. Furthermore, adding the rel=next prev tag only makes your code even more correctly developed, and since Google isn't the only service that looks for tags like this I would feel more comfortable with it present. From an accessibility standpoint, it makes sense to have the rel=next prev tag.

After 301 redirects average rankings went down a little. Any idea?
I just did a similar migration Oscommerce to Magento, because the site was so big took a while for Google indexed all the new URLs even with the 301. We lost a little bit of traffic in the first 3 weeks but in the forth week we recovered the same traffic we had before the new site went up and in the following weeks we just kept growing. Right now we have 20% more traffic. The drop in ranking it's normal right after a big migration, when Seomoz became Moz they also saw a few weeks of drop in the organic traffic. I wouldn't worry too much about it yet. Just make sure your on page optimizations are well done in the new website and wait for big G complete your new website index.
