  • What I'd recommend (both as a long term SEO and someone who's used Moz for years), is first book an onboarding session with Moz. I've been using the Moz suite for many years, but recently booked one, just out of curiosity really! (and to see if I had any knowledge gaps with regards what the Moz tools can do). Don't expect strategy advice from Moz, of course, but sitting through a short onboarding session will really help you get to grips with the Moz tools and: Mean you need to pay a consultant for less time training on Moz's tools (so your money can be directed more to strategy & advice, rather than learning the tools) As you'll be a bit more comfortable with the Moz tools, you'll likely understand what the consultant you hire is talking about better Without meaning to be rude to anyone, you'll also find it easier to spot those who can and cannot help you. I'm not pitching for the work or anything here btw (am booked out solid with project work for the next few months, so couldn't even if I wanted to!), I just though the above might be a good way forward for you.

  • Hi there - Sam from Moz's Help Team here! It would be great if we could take a deeper dive into this - would you be able to pop an email over to help@moz.com along with the name of the listing in question? Thanks very much - looking forward to assisting you!

  • Thanks for getting back to me.  This is the link. https://moz.com/local/details/JTI1NUIlMjUyMkxlb3MlMjUyMHByb3BlcnR5JTI1MjBkZXZlbG9wbWVudCUyNTIwbHRkJTI1MjIlMjUyQyUyNTIyY3cxMiUyNTIwMWhyJTI1MjIlMjUyQyUyNTIyTGVvJTI1MjdzJTI1MjBQcm9wZXJ0eSUyNTIwRGV2ZWxvcG1lbnQlMjUyMEx0ZCUyNTIyJTI1MkMlMjUyMlVuaXQlMjUyMDIlMjUyMiUyNTJDJTI1MjJDVzEyJTI1MjAxSFIlMjUyMiUyNTJDJTI1MjIwNzkzODYxMzk0OSUyNTIyJTI1NUQ= I will also e mail moz as requested. I realise that replicating the exact information is important and this is why I'm trying to make sure that there are no inconsistencies. Thanks again, Jennifer

  • Hi gygnyc! Have you purchased a paid Moz Local account? If not, I would go ahead and do that and you will be able to provide Moz with the correct URL for your Facebook page. Sometimes it takes a little while for Moz local to pick up on the listing -- even if you provided them with the exact URL. I would give it some time, continue to monitor it, and then if it still does not pick up the Facebook listing I would reach out directly to the support team. Hope this helps!

  • I totally hear where you're coming from. Unfortunately, I don't believe this is a feature our system will allow us to support. I'll make sure to mention your feedback to the team, though. If it were possible, it would be a great feature to include.

  • Hi there! Google Analytics would provide site traffic data, but to import listing data you would need to use Google My Business. If a Google My Business page is your verified source for your listing information, you would update that page to edit your NAP data. Moz Local should detect the change and update your listing dashboard within a week! For non-NAP updates, you can use the pencil-shaped 'Edit' button to the right of your listing. I hope that helps!

  • Thanks Lisa! To elaborate, NAP changes (name, address, phone, website) must be made through our verification partners, which are Google and Facebook. These are sources we use to verify the quality of the location data submitted to Moz Local. You can see which verification partner a business location is using right in the dashboard as seen here. Once the change is made on Google or Facebook, Moz Local will automatically detect the change and resubmit the corrected information to our partners. Non-NAP changes (social links, images, etc) can be submitted through the Moz Local dashboard. If you're not making any changes, then there's no need to resubmit since all data is re-submitted to our partners every 1-2 weeks, automatically. You can verify this by looking at the accuracy metrics in your dashboard. To be extra thorough, if you're making a change to your NAP, you can add the old business information to the "alternates" feature in the duplicates section. Though we will push the corrected listing information to all of our partners, this can be a way to be extra sure your old NAP information isn't popping up as a duplicate elsewhere online. Hope this helps!

  • Hi there! Tawny from Moz's Help Team here. If you've already marked that duplicate to request removal, you've taken all the necessary steps toward closing the duplicate. Now it's just a matter of waiting for our partners to accept our data submission and correct the information they're displaying. Unfortunately, there's not a lot we can do to speed them up on that front. For now, your best bet is to wait it out - it could take anywhere from a week to a month or more for our partners to accept our changes. I know that's not an ideal timeframe, but we're at the mercy of the data submission process. If you're concerned about how long the update is taking, you can always write in to help@moz.com and ask us to take a look for you.

  • Hey Stu! In a case like this we recommend purchasing a listing for the new company (xy) overall. We have tools that allow you to enter alternate names/addresses/phone numbers for the old listings that will help us identify, update, and/or remove them. If you already have an existing Moz Local listing for company x or company y, you can shutter those listings, but we do not recommend buying new Moz Local listings for outdated company information. You only need one account to manage this new listing! Also, please be aware that we expect updates through Moz Local to generally take 8-12 weeks, so if you're looking for immediate effects by purchasing the new listing right before the company merges, there may be some lag time before the listings are updated.

  • Hi Jackson! Kristina from Moz's Help Team here. I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with your paused listings this morning. I'm afraid we experienced an issue with our connection to Google which has already been resolved and our engineers are in the process of un-pausing all affected listings. Paused listings have no impact on what we have already distributed to our data partners. When this situation occurs under normal circumstances (deleted Google page, street address hidden), this would only prevent you from making new changes or updates. I had a chance to peek into your account and was able to verify that your listing is active again. I apologize for any inconvenience. As always, you can reach out to our team directly if any issues of this nature pop up again in the future by sending a note to help@moz.com. Sorry again for the trouble on this one - I hope you have a great day! -Kristina

  • I have a few listings that are not recognizing our Google + pages even though they have been verified. Should I just wait for them to be re-crawled or is there someone to reach out to?

  • Hey Not always easy to answer these questions in general terms. Your national keyword indicates how relevant you are for this product / service / widget for non local search queries. Your local keywords indicates how relevant you are for this product / service / widget for local search queries. If you have lots of local competition then you may be stacked behind others that are closer to a given location in the search query (or the user could be closer to the competitor than to you). Lot of assumptions here. Lot of moving parts as well. Location targeted. Organic or pack results. Location of user conducting the search. Local intent behind these keywords. Caveat - It is often hard to advise on these issues with all the information but in a very general way like this it is incredibly hard to give truly accurate and insightful guidance. Hope that helps! • Hi Scott! Kristina from Moz's Help Team here. Thanks for reaching out, and sorry for the trouble! Here's a short video with more information on how a Google+ page needs to be set up: https://seomoz.wistia.com/medias/izmwe6t66p. And here is a written-list of the criteria for those sources that will enable us to validate your listing: The name, address, and phone number (NAP) listed on the page must be an exact match with the listing in Moz Local. The primary phone number listed must be a local number, rather than a toll-free number. The business must not be listed as a “service area business”. A service area business displays with the street address being hidden, as well as the listing not being surfaced through the Google Places API (which is where we pull the listing details from). The listing must be verified by postcard. As a note, it may take a couple days after the postcard verification process for the listing to be available through the Google Places API. The listing must be completely searchable through Google Maps, with the full NAP listed correctly. If you're still encountering issues after taking a look at those factors, then I'm certainly happy to investigate; I would just need you to shoot our team an email at help@moz.com including the name, address and phone number of the Moz Local listing, as well as the Google+ page for that listing, as you've provided here. I hope this helps!  -Kristina
