  • Hey there Chris! When you search for a business in our Check Listing tool, the results are populated by existing local listings out on the web. If you’re seeing two distinct verified listings, one from Facebook and one from Google+, it’s likely because their NAP (name, address, and phone number) data does not match exactly and they’re being treated as possibly separate listings. To get them to combine, you’ll want to make sure the NAP data matches. It’s hard to know which pages exactly these are without taking a look at the search results for the business you’re querying, so if you have additional questions about the Check Listing tool (and for the sake of data privacy) I recommend writing in to us at help@moz.com!

  • Hi Chris! Sorry to hear you're experiencing trouble with your Best of the Web listing. This sounds like it might be a technical snafu or an update issue with that specific partner. I'd definitely recommend reaching out to us at help@moz.com so we can investigate this issue and make sure your listing information has been pushed out to all our partners! Thanks! Lisa

  • Moz Local currently only supports the purchased management of US and UK business listings (source: https://moz.com/help/guides/local). So won't work for Zimbabwe - sorry. Dirk

  • Hi David, I was wondering if you can help me with a similar dilemma. I am technically a service area business, but we do have a location in each city/area that we service (to house the equipment and vehicles). I would like to use Moz Local and do the right thing on Google, do I list myself as a SAB or a chain? I would rather be listed as a chain since it seems easier on many accounts but I don't want to "game" the system in anyway.

  • HI Pamela Dmitrii is correct. Our listings are $84 or £84 per location per year. Can you show me a screenshot of where you see $50? If you are finding it from an older articles, we did originally price local at $49 before October of 2014.

  • Hi Scott I'm afraid campaigns cannot be forced to update and the change you made will not take affect until the next weekly update. For one-off data you can run for rankings you can use moz.com/researchtools/rank-tracker For link metrics you can view them directly on moz.com/researchtools/ose Link metrics only update when a new index is released. If you have room, you can create a new campaign which will run a rush collection of initial data. You will need to make sure your information is submitted during the setup before it is completed. Any changes made after will be queued up for the next week. Hope this helps!

  • Hi rosemontmedia The check listing tool is a search tool, so it will rely on the response Facebook and Hotfrog provides when we are querying for the business information. Each time you generate a listing report, this is a live query. If no results are found, this means the data is not available in their respective API's. Hotfrog doesn't have the best API as many listings fail to appear in our searches. For Facebook, you will want to make sure their listing is setup as a local business page and has a couple of check-ins in order for the information to be available. Hope this helps!

  • Hi Neil Our Moz Local tool is largely a search tool so it will depend on Facebook and any other service to return the data we are querying for your business name. Here are the reasons we outline in our FAQ for not being able to find them on Facebook or Google: https://moz.com/help/guides/local/listing#frequently-asked-questions Facebook Must be a Facebook local business page. An easy way to see if your page is a place/local business is to see if it has the following: About, Address, Hours, Contact and Reviews. Make sure that your business’s name, address and phone number are listed exactly as you would like them to appear in your Moz Local listing Ensure that the page is publicly accessible (Check with incognito browser to see if the page is available prior to logging into Facebook. Also, possibly give a screenshot of a functionally configured Facebook page’s privacy settings.) Make sure to have at least 2 check-ins to verify the physical location of your business. Not sure what to do here? Head to Facebook's resources to see how to let people check in and how you can check in. Google+ Must be a Google+ local business page. Look for the ‘Review Summary’ section on the page. Some other things to look for: Verified check mark next to the page image, Address, Hours and Reviews. Here's an example of what the page looks like. Make sure that your business’s name, address and phone number are listed exactly as you would like them to appear in your Moz Local listing. Note that service-area businesses (SAB) without their full address listed will run into complications with Moz Local since not all of our partners support SAB's. Must be a listed as a “verified local business". Remember that check mark we mentioned earlier? That's what you need! Hope this helps

  • As you said, Miriam, the geography factor seems to be the big issue. Thanks for chiming in.

  • Duly noted! In the case of the Facebook page, it looks like it's not being included in your Moz Local listing because the name on the page isn't a match to the Google+ page which was used to validate your listing. If you were able to change the Facebook name from Detroit Deluxe to Detroit Deluxe Paint Body and Car Restoration, then you should see it included within your listing report. I'm sorry that you're feeling frustrated with the process. As far as the functionality of the system goes, the general timeframe for updating listings can occur in as little as a day or so, but some of our partners can take up to 8-12 weeks to be fully updated. This is talked about within this list of frequently asked questions on the topic of Moz Local: https://moz.com/local/faq

  • Hi Alastair Moz Local cannot be used to delete citations. Since the information only uses your business name and not the address or number. The person at the location might be the only one who can claim and request the listing service for removal or submit a close requests. I would recommend you reach out to the listing service directly as well to try and claim the listing for removal. The only thing you can do is make sure your information is as consistent and accurate as possible so the true results appear above the incorrect ones. Claim listings with services we do not submit to so you can increase your presence to further push the bad one off until you can have the listing removed. Hope this helps

  • Hi, If the campaign is archived it doesn't count as active campaign. Suppose you have a campaign limit of 5 in your subscription - with 5 active campaigns, archiving one of them liberates one "slot" that you can use for a new campaign. You're not really charged on campaign basis but are charged a fixed fee (with 5/10/25/100 allowed campaigns depending on your subscription)- so archiving one campaign wouldn't really change the monthly charge. Dirk
