Hello! Sam from Moz's Help Team here! So -  after being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. However, there are a lot of factors which can affect our ability to find and index links to your site. It's important to note that we are always adding new data to our index, but it may take some time for us to discover backlinks to your site based on factors like crawlability of the referring pages, quality of the links and the referring pages, and more. If you are not seeing links that you know you have, you may want to make sure that they can be indexed. It is also a good idea to check to see if we've indexed the page on which that link is found. If we haven't indexed the referring page yet, you won't see your link in our index. You can also add links to Link Tracking Lists. Once you add a link to your tracking lists we will add that page to be crawled. As long as it is accessible to our crawler, you should see the link in our index as soon as we can index those pages. Lastly, I have a great guide here with some things to check around why we may not have found your links yet: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/moz-isnt-finding-your-links If you'd like any further information, please feel free to pop us an email over at help@moz.com. We do also have a great guide to Domain Authority just here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority

Hi, No, MOZ does not have any option to disavow links and you should not be worried about disavowing links in Moz. Instead, disavow them from the Google Search Console because Google is the search engine that ranks your site according to proper linking.

Hi, Great question, Link Explorer and the Links tab of Moz Pro Campaigns are both tied to our Link index, which is constantly updating. After being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. When discovered or lost links are found, we'll update our database to reflect those changes in your scores and link counts. We prioritize the links we crawl based on a machine learning algorithm to mimic Google's index. This does not mean that DA and PA will change with every data update, though; it will only change if we find new link data for a respective site. I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly when your DA will update it depends on when we find new equity passing backlinks to your site. You can read more about our new Link Explorer tool and our index here. You can also read more about how our Link index compares with our competitors here https://backlinko.com/best-backlink-checker Feel free to reach out to help@moz.com with any further questions

Hi snjaoieiw, To get a detailed answer from Moz staff on what DA is, you might consider searching the Q&A forum. In short, though, it is a Moz metric (not a Google or Bing metric) that takes into consideration the number (and quality) of backlinks your website has. That said, have you been working on building up high quality backlinks? -Zack

  • It could also be related to the size of our index. Since everything has dropped, I'd say it's likely. We're working on pushing out OSE updates faster, but to do so, we need to crawl fewer pages. The last couple of crawls have been smaller than what we had in late spring.

  • Sanket, Thanks for the good tools. I'll use them. Actually, the duplicate content is all on our own server. We upgraded our site a couple of times and didn't redirect old pages to new. I'm using Google and the command site:thewealthymind(dot)com to find duplicate content. Will that find it all?

  • It depends on what the errors and warnings are.  With that number you will probably find that there are a few common root causes. Fixing one cause will probably clear up a number of them in one go. Start with the most common critical ones.  If you need any help with specific errors just start a thread here.  You'll be surprised how quickly you can clean them up.

  • If you use Apache, reference the SEOmoz article cited above. If you use Nginx, reference this article. Another "fix" is to use a canonical tag to suggest to search engines which version to index. SEOmoz will still detect a problem, but you'll be fine from a search engine perspective.

  • "Links that link to: any page on subdomain" The remaining links point to another subdomain. Try selecting: "Any page on this root domain" and see what you get

  • If it link is a direct link to your site (view source and make sure its ), then only the top 3 points are taken into consideration if its nofollow or not. MozBar takes all 3 into consideration (tested it on a site I have noindex in robots.txt on, assuming it checks for the meta tag and definitely checks for nofollow attribute).

  • This does not really matter as much as it used to. I would not worry about having 120 links as long as they are there to help the user rather then manipulate the search engine. http://www.seomoz.org/blog/smarter-internal-linking-whiteboard-friday

  • @Streamline is right - as soon as the engines encounter both versions, they see it as two pages. It's no problem for human visitors, but it can create issues with duplicate URLs in the Google index. You can either 301-redirect the "index.asp" version back to the cleaner, root URL or use a canonical. ASP/.Net can be weird about 301s, so the canonical is probably easier. Generally, we suggest people canonical to the shorter/friendlier version, but the trouble here is that you're using the "/index.asp" version in your internal links. If you can change the internal links to the "/contact/" version, I'd prefer that, but if not, then set the canonical tag to the "/index.asp" version. The most important thing is consistency. If you link to one version but canonical to the other, Google could ignore your canonical tag. Put simply, your canonical URL isn't really canonical, in that case.

  • I ask if Webmaster tools is installed because of the warning message. "We've detected that some of the links pointing to your site are using techniques outside Google'sWebmaster Guidelines. We don't want to put any trust in links that are artificial or unnatural. We recommend removing any unnatural links to your site. However, we do realize that some links are outside of your control. As a result, for this specific incident we are taking very targeted action on the unnatural links instead of your site as a whole. If you are able to remove any of the links, please submit a reconsideration request, including the actions that you took. If you have any questions, please visit our Webmaster Help Forum." But you say you have not received the warning so OK. Now lets look at the other issues. OSE - OSE is not real time info so it takes a while for new info (anchor text) to show up. As for the 95 links are you checking patiopads.com  or www.patiopads.com? I see 2,069 links for www.patiopads.com Linking from your own site - http://pipefinepatiofurniture.com/  and  http://patiopads.com/ are both registered to the same owner. Linking back from 100's of pages using the same exact text link is not a good idea. Especially now that you have changed the Anchor Text. These are unnatural activities and are all red flags for Google. I think that it would be a good idea to rethink your link-building strategy. Use OSE to see what your top competitor's are doing. Remember with link-building it's not quantity it's quality.

  • Hi SEOscar, Your question sounds very much like a feature request that should be highlighted for SEOmoz staff. If you go to the Feature Request page and add it, staff will most likely see it more quickly and you can check back every now and then to see if there is any news. Hope that helps, Sha

  • Hi Nightwing, i didn't get the answer I wanted here but here's a response i got from Cole at http://authoritylabs.com/ - "For each country you track a keyword it counts as one unique keyword so 250 keywords across 25 countries is over 6,000 keywords and that would be on our 10k keyword plan with unlimited domains at $850/month. We also have our Partner API which is a completely separate platform and more cost efficient for larger data sets. You can pull raw search results from our system to yours and we return the top 120 raw results in a JSON file like this for each keyword you enter https://gist.github.com/1201614. Pricing is at $.66 per thousand keywords for data returned within 24 hours and it's $6.89 per thousand keywords for data returned within about a minute. Here are the docs for reference - http://authoritylabs.com/api/partner-api/. Best, Cole" I haven't tried it yet but it looks fairly cost effective if you can wait 24 hours for your data. Hope this helps you.
