Hello! Sam from Moz's Help Team here! So -  after being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. However, there are a lot of factors which can affect our ability to find and index links to your site. It's important to note that we are always adding new data to our index, but it may take some time for us to discover backlinks to your site based on factors like crawlability of the referring pages, quality of the links and the referring pages, and more. If you are not seeing links that you know you have, you may want to make sure that they can be indexed. It is also a good idea to check to see if we've indexed the page on which that link is found. If we haven't indexed the referring page yet, you won't see your link in our index. You can also add links to Link Tracking Lists. Once you add a link to your tracking lists we will add that page to be crawled. As long as it is accessible to our crawler, you should see the link in our index as soon as we can index those pages. Lastly, I have a great guide here with some things to check around why we may not have found your links yet: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/moz-isnt-finding-your-links If you'd like any further information, please feel free to pop us an email over at help@moz.com. We do also have a great guide to Domain Authority just here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority

Hi, No, MOZ does not have any option to disavow links and you should not be worried about disavowing links in Moz. Instead, disavow them from the Google Search Console because Google is the search engine that ranks your site according to proper linking.

Hi, Great question, Link Explorer and the Links tab of Moz Pro Campaigns are both tied to our Link index, which is constantly updating. After being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. When discovered or lost links are found, we'll update our database to reflect those changes in your scores and link counts. We prioritize the links we crawl based on a machine learning algorithm to mimic Google's index. This does not mean that DA and PA will change with every data update, though; it will only change if we find new link data for a respective site. I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly when your DA will update it depends on when we find new equity passing backlinks to your site. You can read more about our new Link Explorer tool and our index here. You can also read more about how our Link index compares with our competitors here https://backlinko.com/best-backlink-checker Feel free to reach out to help@moz.com with any further questions

Hi snjaoieiw, To get a detailed answer from Moz staff on what DA is, you might consider searching the Q&A forum. In short, though, it is a Moz metric (not a Google or Bing metric) that takes into consideration the number (and quality) of backlinks your website has. That said, have you been working on building up high quality backlinks? -Zack

  • CMC is correct - thats how I do it for larger sites. delete all columns except the URL column (col A) and the duplicate pages column (now Col B) in cell C2, enter this formula: =len(b2)  it will calculate the characters in dupe pages cell drag that cell down to last row select all three columns and sort col c by largest to smallest Obviously this isn't going to give you an exact number of dupe pages since URL text strings can vary in length, but it does give you a pretty good idea of the worst offenders....

  • Hi kadesmith! This is Megan from the SEOmoz Help Team.  If you want to remove a report that you're not interested in, you can click on the keyword and choose the option to 'stop running weekly'. Also, you can always manually generate reports for any URL and one of your keywords. Simply go to the Report Card tab in the On Page section, and cut and paste or type a new URL into the URL drop box. Then select your keyword from the drop down and select "Grade My Optimization." After that, you can tell the Web App to start tracking that combination in the future by selecting the option to 'run this report weekly', and you should start seeing weekly reports. I hope this helps!  If you have more questions about On-Page reports, you can check out this help resource here:  http://www.seomoz.org/help/on-page-reports Cheers!

  • Thanks for the two quick and thorough responses.  The site is about to be re-launched and that will address a lot of the issues regarding on page etc. It is interesting to read your thoughts (Robert - I think I understood yours a bit more than Donford, but both helpful).

  • Thanks Marcus. It is wordpress I am using and already have the Yoast WP plugin. I'll try nondexing the author and date taxonomies too. I have done so with the tags but they still show up on the SEOmoz report. Good idea about varying the categories - will give that a go and see if anything changes

  • Hi ccgdm! Thanks for writing in. Yes, adding social data to custom reports is something that we planned for. It's on our development backlog, and it's definitely a higher priority. I don't have a release date, but we're hoping to have it within the next 6 months. Sorry I couldn't be more help! Cheers, Jackie

  • Hi John, You'll want to enter the www.example.com in the campaign, so we crawl JUST the www subdomain. We don't often think of it this way, but www is a subdomain.

  • Hi! If you are a PRO Plus or PRO Elite customer, you can add your logo to PDF reports. It's covered in this help section at http://www.seomoz.org/help/campaign-setup and excerpted below: How do I add my logo or get white labeled reports? If you have our PRO Plus or PRO Elite, you can upload a logo from your campaign settings page. This will add your logo to the top of PDF reports downloaded from the web app. This is a great way to show off our excellent data with your awesome branding. Enjoy!

  • I have 2 free eBooks which got me to 9 on Google US for a secondary and 20 - 30 for my main primary keywords.  I'm new to SEO joined SEO moz abour 2 months ago. scribd dot com for example is Page and Domain Authority over 90, I've a link on there but I don't know if they give juice.  Free ebooks dot net have over 70 P and D authority. A free eBook you can use forever with no duplicate content issues becasue it's either downloaded or linked to your page to download (I might be wrong as the book description is the same).  Either way it gets me access to many places I would otherwise not get.  I've already been contacted by a charity (for children's literature) to use / link to one of them. While I was writing it I would never have dreamed to give it away for free so I put a lot of effort in at the time, it is 132 pages long (the guitar one).  If you're writing an eBook that you know will be free you have to make it good, like 50 pages, and good enough content that your link is merely informative.   Because I write books this suits me but if there's an area you are knowledgable about then it could be something to consider.

  • Hi David, OSE usually takes a few updates to include more recent links. Do not worry about the link not showing up in OSE, it doesn't mean you are not being considered by Google. OSE is just an FYI tool, and won't always be able to gather exactly all links.

  • Hello Sam. That doesn't sound like panda. If it was panda, you wouldn't be on page 1 for keywords, unless your keyword is the complete title and you are the only one with it. More likely is that your competitors have moved up and maybe some of the sites you dot links from have been destroyed or maybe they dropped their links that point to you, or maybe they made them nofollow. Dropping just a couple of positions would be a wonderful problem to have. If you haven't already done so, I suggest you work through the training, so you understand more, then use the tools in the "Research Tools" menu item at the top of the page.

  • There are some good points in the other answers, but honestly do the course. With all due respect a lot of what the other answers are covering is minor detail compared to the big picture stuff that you are missing.  You need to understand that stuff if you want your site to do better. Simply following check lists of technical issues will not get you the big jumps you probably want. The course will take you through the process.  It will help you understand how to identify the keywords that are going to bring you traffic, how to target those keywords effectively, how to spot the sort of issues that others are pointing out and how to build the authority you need to rank for those terms. I'm not knocking the points others have made. They're all good. However you really need to understand the basics properly and then come back and work through those sorts of points. The good news is though that if you are getting those traffic numbers from the site in it's current state it has potential. It should be well worth getting this stuff right.
