Hello! Sam from Moz's Help Team here! So -  after being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. However, there are a lot of factors which can affect our ability to find and index links to your site. It's important to note that we are always adding new data to our index, but it may take some time for us to discover backlinks to your site based on factors like crawlability of the referring pages, quality of the links and the referring pages, and more. If you are not seeing links that you know you have, you may want to make sure that they can be indexed. It is also a good idea to check to see if we've indexed the page on which that link is found. If we haven't indexed the referring page yet, you won't see your link in our index. You can also add links to Link Tracking Lists. Once you add a link to your tracking lists we will add that page to be crawled. As long as it is accessible to our crawler, you should see the link in our index as soon as we can index those pages. Lastly, I have a great guide here with some things to check around why we may not have found your links yet: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/moz-isnt-finding-your-links If you'd like any further information, please feel free to pop us an email over at help@moz.com. Hi, No, MOZ does not have any option to disavow links and you should not be worried about disavowing links in Moz. Instead, disavow them from the Google Search Console because Google is the search engine that ranks your site according to proper linking.

Hi, Great question, Link Explorer and the Links tab of Moz Pro Campaigns are both tied to our Link index, which is constantly updating. After being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. When discovered or lost links are found, we'll update our database to reflect those changes in your scores and link counts. We prioritize the links we crawl based on a machine learning algorithm to mimic Google's index. This does not mean that DA and PA will change with every data update, though; it will only change if we find new link data for a respective site. I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly when your DA will update it depends on when we find new equity passing backlinks to your site. You can read more about our new Link Explorer tool and our index here. You can also read more about how our Link index compares with our competitors here https://backlinko.com/best-backlink-checker Feel free to reach out to help@moz.com with any further questions

Hi snjaoieiw, To get a detailed answer from Moz staff on what DA is, you might consider searching the Q&A forum. In short, though, it is a Moz metric (not a Google or Bing metric) that takes into consideration the number (and quality) of backlinks your website has. That said, have you been working on building up high quality backlinks? -Zack

  • Hi Carol, I went through your site and did see a number of pages that had a PA of 24 but I did also see a number that were all different PAs. It sounds like much of your page has the same or similar backlinks profile so it is possible to see them have the same PA. I hope that helps. Thanks! Joel.

  • Hi Kyu, Unfortunately, our crawler does not report if there are issues crawling your site due to JS or Flash, as it is actually unable to parse either of those languages so it does not process any information in those languages. Google's crawler is much more sophisticated than ours, as Host1 points out, so they may be able to parse your site and index it more thoroughly than we can. Please let me know if you have any other questions. -Chiaryn

  • Hello JPretz, What you are experiencing is a common phenomenon in which your former organic rankings get subsumed into your new blended/local rankings. These blended/local rankings are made up of many factors, including organic ones. It used to be common for strong businesses to dominate page 1 of the SERPs. They might have several organic rankings, a local ranking, citations from 3rd parties, video sources and etc., all on one page. Around the time of the Venice update in March (see: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/understand-and-rock-the-google-venice-update), I and many other Local SEOs noticed this had changed. For the most part, if a company had a local listing, they no longer had an organic one and vice versa. There has been some fluctuation in this display, but I still find this to be the way of things for most businesses, even in tiny niche verticals in rural locations. That being said, a couple of the Local SEOs I know have managed in the past to secure a double ranking since Venice. Linda Buquet of CatalysteMarketing is one who comes instantly to mind, as she published a post about getting a double ranking for a dentist: http://localsearchforum.catalystemarketing.com/local-search-general-discussions/719-lqqk-incredible-shrinking-local-serps-traffic-drops.html And here's a similar piece from Adam Steele: http://www.nightlitemedia.com/2012/05/organic-and-google-places-ranking-on-page-1/ Basically, the concept of double rankings revolves around the optimization of a secondary page. I've never engaged in this, and I believe Linda actually recently saw the double-ranked dentist results changes. She and I work together in her Local Search Forum, and I believe she mentioned this to me, so this may all have changed again. I know she was offering training on this in her Advanced Places Training course, but am not sure of the status of this tactic/training at this point. You might like to get in touch with her. At any rate, what you are experiencing is common and there is even discussion going on in the local sphere as to whether local inclusion causes traffic drops (making it preferable to remain organic). The thing is, this stuff changes almost daily, so the best we can typically due is keep up with the news and changes. Hope the articles I've linked to will be helpful.

  • On the Overview page in the Crawl Diagnostics box, click on Duplicate Page Title on the Y axis. It will send you to a page that lists the duplicate page titles.

  • Do you have the www in your campaign? We're looking for exact URL, so if you're ranking on www and you don't have www in your campaign that would be a reason why. If that doesn't answer the question, send a note to help@seomoz.org and we'll take a look at it for you.

  • Hi There, Thanks for writing in. You may be seeing this discrepancy because we only provide the option to check Google Belgium (which defaults to Dutch) in Rank Tracker, rather than breaking Google Belgium into language specific engines, as we do in the campaign. It seems that, in the campaign, you are are tracking the campaign under Google Belgium-French, which may mean that the system is pulling rankings from different datacenters and the results can be different between the two languages. It's also important to note that Rank Tracker is an older tool that works off of a completely different system than the campaign rankings, but we are working to align it with our campaign rankings collection and include more of the search engine options that you have with the full campaign. I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any further questions. -Chiaryn

  • I use Majestic in combination with OSE. The former is great for raw counts and fast discovery, the latter gives me generally more reliable data (in terms of links that still exist, come from relatively stable sources, etc) and better metrics/filters. I thought Eric Enge's comparison was quite good: http://www.stonetemple.com/majestic-seo-open-site-explorer-shootout/

  • Hi, and welcome to SEOmoz! I'd suggest reading our Beginner's Guide to SEO, especially the chapter on Link Building. SEOmoz is focused on tools to help make your own website better, and to help educate webmasters. We're less focused on tools to strictly build links, though you will find many blog posts on our site in the link building category that discuss how to build links. Regarding crawling on a daily basis, do you mean the crawl of your site? If so, you can do a crawl test of two sites a day, up to 3000 URLs each, at http://pro.seomoz.org/tools/crawl-test. If you mean Open Site Explorer, we don't have the processing power to update that every day.

  • You all get similar links? It's a good strategy to find links that competitors have and try to get the same ones because.. you know they work since your competitor is ranking (strong links) they are linking to sites very similar to yours so you would be a good fit (high relevance)

  • Thanks, I agree it can be good for the user, in our case it shows the high calibre of clients we work with, which in turn makes us look good and is completely relevant. We're a service company, so we don't write blogs at this point. But just having a page explaining projects we've worked on with links to the clients it what works I think. I will search for you post!

  • Did you know we have a feature request forum at https://seomoz.zendesk.com/forums/293194-seomoz-pro-feature-requests where you could submit that idea? Do keep in mind that we don't have access to Google's algorithm either, so it would be our idea of how it is influenced, not what Google thinks about it.

  • Hi Martin, Thanks for writing in and sorry for any confusion. I took a look at your campaigns and I do see that your On-Page reports seems to be working, so I'm afraid I'll need more information to look into the issue. Can you please let me know the keyword and URL combination that you are having issues with? If you would like to keep your campaign information confidential, please let me know and I will create a ticket in our email support system for you. I look forward to hearing back soon. -Chiaryn
