Hello! Sam from Moz's Help Team here! So -  after being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. However, there are a lot of factors which can affect our ability to find and index links to your site. It's important to note that we are always adding new data to our index, but it may take some time for us to discover backlinks to your site based on factors like crawlability of the referring pages, quality of the links and the referring pages, and more. If you are not seeing links that you know you have, you may want to make sure that they can be indexed. It is also a good idea to check to see if we've indexed the page on which that link is found. If we haven't indexed the referring page yet, you won't see your link in our index. You can also add links to Link Tracking Lists. Once you add a link to your tracking lists we will add that page to be crawled. As long as it is accessible to our crawler, you should see the link in our index as soon as we can index those pages. Lastly, I have a great guide here with some things to check around why we may not have found your links yet: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/moz-isnt-finding-your-links If you'd like any further information, please feel free to pop us an email over at help@moz.com. We do also have a great guide to Domain Authority just here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority

Hi, No, MOZ does not have any option to disavow links and you should not be worried about disavowing links in Moz. Instead, disavow them from the Google Search Console because Google is the search engine that ranks your site according to proper linking.

Hi, Great question, Link Explorer and the Links tab of Moz Pro Campaigns are both tied to our Link index, which is constantly updating. After being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. When discovered or lost links are found, we'll update our database to reflect those changes in your scores and link counts. We prioritize the links we crawl based on a machine learning algorithm to mimic Google's index. This does not mean that DA and PA will change with every data update, though; it will only change if we find new link data for a respective site. I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly when your DA will update it depends on when we find new equity passing backlinks to your site. You can read more about our new Link Explorer tool and our index here. You can also read more about how our Link index compares with our competitors here https://backlinko.com/best-backlink-checker Feel free to reach out to help@moz.com with any further questions

Hi snjaoieiw, To get a detailed answer from Moz staff on what DA is, you might consider searching the Q&A forum. In short, though, it is a Moz metric (not a Google or Bing metric) that takes into consideration the number (and quality) of backlinks your website has. That said, have you been working on building up high quality backlinks? -Zack

  • Read up on localseoguide.com and use getlisted.org. But first, do some research. Type in your terms, either by using implicit or explicit searches. Example: Implicit search = "web design" (and using the auto geo/IP detection from Google and settings on your page) Explicit search = "web design san diego", "web design san diego, ca" If no local results are shown, still go thru getlisted.org - but you will focus more on SEO, or "hybrid" SEO, not pure Local SEO pack optimization. Didn't see any local pack results for web design in san diego for example. Local citations are important, for example (links). But, so are reviews and other factors. Learn about the local ranking and optimization factors from the annual survey reports: http://www.davidmihm.com/blog/ and what to focus on. Watch the 50 minute local seo training video on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7hJzQd-ZdA Enjoy!

  • Since you don't care whether your sign-in page ever ranks well, and since the member content behind the paywall will never index/rank anyway, I don't think is a big issue, Jonathan. If you wanted to, you could "nofollow" the links to the paid content pages and you could set the signup page to "no-index". That would at least signal to the crawlers that the page isn't intended to be a viable content page of the site. Paul

  • Hi Scott, You can absolutely rely on the tools. It is 100% accurate. The problem was that you are tracking a specific subdomain and your ranking for that keyword is not in that subdomain. You could resetup the campaign as a root domain campaign as a catch all. That will get you anything off of that domain regardless of whether it's www, blog, store, or whatever. I know it's frustrating and seeing your ranking suddenly drop off can be worrisome to say the least. What you can do in the immediate is to set a 301 redirect from http://ssihvac.com to http://www.ssihvac.com and once Google catches up with that, you'll likely see your ranking position returned to the www without having to archive your campaign or anything like that. You really don't want the www and non-www to resolve independently anyway, so that's something I recommend in general anyway. I hope that helps. Cheers, Joel.

  • Hi Jenny, Thanks for writing in. There isn't a way to sort by date in OSE because the index is updated to a new, current index with each update (usually about once a month) and it isn't compared against previous indexes, so each link in the current index has been discovered again that month, even if it has been in previous indexes. Technically, the way our index is created means that all of the links in the current index are "discovered" or "rediscovered" within the past 3-4 weeks. We don't retain historical link data in the index because we think it is important to show the most current data that we can so our index doesn't necessarily show you what are considered new link, just what would be considered current links. We do show historical link metrics regarding the number of links and linking root domains in the link analysis section of the campaign web app, but I'm afraid that they don't show specific links in the historical section. Let me know if you have any other questions about OSE. -Chiaryn

  • That's not unusual. We outrank people with higher DA & PR for thousands of keywords. I would consider things on a page by page basis. Authority for a domain and page are not the same thing; this applies to PR as well. If you have a super high PR on your homepage, you might want to flow it around to pages which need it, for example. Your call. If I was to post a response on answers at yahoo with a link back to my site and there was nofollow, it would not mean that DA:100 would be a determinant factor. It's the PAGE itself which is relevant - there are several pages in that site with PA of 1 (i.e. 1/100).

  • Hi Jake, This is Megan from the SEOmoz Help Team.  We definitely plan on adding Google+ to the campaign social section in the near future (sorry, I don't have an exact eta).  As for other social networks, we're hoping to at least start including some kind of integration with our tools.  You can follow this thread from our feature request forum for updates:  https://seomoz.zendesk.com/entries/20901363-g-linkedin-youtube-integration Cheers!

  • I'm going to look into our canonical tags first - I think this is the best place to start. Once this is done, I'll wait a week and see if the next scan yields fewer errors. I'll keep you posted. Thanks.
