Hello! Sam from Moz's Help Team here! So -  after being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. However, there are a lot of factors which can affect our ability to find and index links to your site. It's important to note that we are always adding new data to our index, but it may take some time for us to discover backlinks to your site based on factors like crawlability of the referring pages, quality of the links and the referring pages, and more. If you are not seeing links that you know you have, you may want to make sure that they can be indexed. It is also a good idea to check to see if we've indexed the page on which that link is found. If we haven't indexed the referring page yet, you won't see your link in our index. You can also add links to Link Tracking Lists. Once you add a link to your tracking lists we will add that page to be crawled. As long as it is accessible to our crawler, you should see the link in our index as soon as we can index those pages. Lastly, I have a great guide here with some things to check around why we may not have found your links yet: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/moz-isnt-finding-your-links If you'd like any further information, please feel free to pop us an email over at help@moz.com. We do also have a great guide to Domain Authority just here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority

Hi, No, MOZ does not have any option to disavow links and you should not be worried about disavowing links in Moz. Instead, disavow them from the Google Search Console because Google is the search engine that ranks your site according to proper linking.

Hi, Great question, Link Explorer and the Links tab of Moz Pro Campaigns are both tied to our Link index, which is constantly updating. After being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. When discovered or lost links are found, we'll update our database to reflect those changes in your scores and link counts. We prioritize the links we crawl based on a machine learning algorithm to mimic Google's index. This does not mean that DA and PA will change with every data update, though; it will only change if we find new link data for a respective site. I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly when your DA will update it depends on when we find new equity passing backlinks to your site. You can read more about our new Link Explorer tool and our index here. You can also read more about how our Link index compares with our competitors here https://backlinko.com/best-backlink-checker Feel free to reach out to help@moz.com with any further questions

Hi snjaoieiw, To get a detailed answer from Moz staff on what DA is, you might consider searching the Q&A forum. In short, though, it is a Moz metric (not a Google or Bing metric) that takes into consideration the number (and quality) of backlinks your website has. That said, have you been working on building up high quality backlinks? -Zack

  • Would a link to our site on the YouTube/Vimeo page allow it to get picked up by the rankings tracker?

  • Just because it's made for PPC doesn't mean it can't rank on it's own. If there are things you can to to the page that will not negatively affect your conversion rate then by all means fix them and index, follow the page. btw, you could probably noindex, follow instead of noindex, nofollow.

  • My Pleasure.  SEOmoz has a lot of great tools and each of them are valuable in their own ways.  I would take the time to go through all of them (whether you use them or not) to just get an idea of what each does specifically.  The Help Hub is a great section with short videos on each product and feature here.  If we don't have a tool on here you love then you can always look through PRO Change Log and see if any of the tools you want are in development or you can suggest new ones too.

  • Hi Andrew! This is Megan from SEOmoz. You can get rankings for your competitors by adding your competitors information in the campaign settings section (which you can find under the PRO Dashboard). It looks like you do have this set up for 1 campaign, but the rankings haven't updated yet.  I noticed that you've opened a ticket with us regarding your rankings not updating, so I'll make a note to also check on your competitors' rankings to make sure they update too. Sorry for the troubles!

  • Thanks for the response!  Unfortunately at this time we do not have a way to have Roger crawl at a specific IP, since Roger uses a dynamic set of IP to crawl sites to get the most unbiased results.  Creating a sub folder campaign at this moment is the only way to get an effective crawl for that site, unfortunately from this point on this is a web development question, which is something better left to the experts in our forum.  I left this post as an on-going discussion to other to chime in, you could also use your private question to ask our associates In the mean time, I would also recommend you go to our feature request forum to request this feature, once you finish it, others can vote this feature which lets our development team plan their next feature inclusion You can go there by using this link: https://seomoz.zendesk.com/categories/6327-known-issues-feature-requests Hope that helps! • Obviously, time is an issue here.  With the Mozscape updating once every 3 weeks (roughly), you might get some PA 1 pages that would be great to have a link on. By in large, I also wouldn't remove links solely on PA/DA.  If you're trying to identify spammy links, you may want to start at something that is PA >20 and DA>15 for example, but you'll need to look at a lot of other elements.  What is the websites link profile like? Is it in a bad neighbourhood? Is it indexed in Google? Is it over-optimised on site? How many outbound links are there? Where do they link to? Do they have dodgy blogrolls etc. PA/DA may start this process, but you do run the risk of missing other offending sites with a higher score.  Directories are often one of these, but you could get a decent DA/PA blog that has been deindexed, or is blatantly selling links. It's a decent metric for finding dodgy links, but by no means the be all and end all.  I'd recommend taking a look at the LinkDetox tool - you can pay for one complete scan with just a tweet.  It looks at your link profile and categorises what links may be toxic and suspicious, based on a number of metrics that they've put together.  Put in tandem with PA/DA, you'd be well on your way in identifying any bad links.

  • Thanks for the question Ryan! It looks like we haven't indexed your site yet which is why you aren't seeing any data in the Link Analysis section of your campaign.  We update our index on a monthly basis so there is a chance you'll see this data with the next refresh, but we can't guarantee you'll be indexed then.  On place you can check out for link data in the meantime is Majestic SEO (www.majesticseo.com).  I typed in your domain and got some data reported back.  Let me know if you have any other questions and sorry for the inconvenience! • To put it simply, Adwords difficulty is based on the competition level of other advertisers, whereas SEOMoz keyword difficulty is based on the top 10 organic search results. Adwords = Sponsored results Seomoz = Organic results In other words, don't bother with the adwords competition unless you're only interested in advertising on adwords.

  • Thanks for all your replies. We haven't changed anything on any of the sites. We use our own CMS which has not changed either. Webmaster tools doesn't show the same errors as SEOMoz. We appear to be in the same situation as Mike. We know that we have duplicate titles and content but we have taken care of our duplicate issues using canonical and no index tags, which drastically reduced our errors. For some reason SEOmoz doesn't seem to have paid heed to them on it's latest crawl. Thanks Mike. At least we are not on our own. Maybe I should see if this is rectified after the next SEOMoz crawl before I pursue this any further?

  • Hey Dave, Thanks for following up. I can't really give any SEO advice, since the Help Team is really here more for product support and I don't actually do any SEO. This is more of a question for the broader SEOmoz community. You may consider posting it as a separate question to get more of a response, since the actual product part of your question has been marked as answered. Let me know if you have any other questions. • We had an update to Mozscape last week, so everyone's numbers got updated. You'll see small changes like that when we update, it's nothing to worry about.

  • Hi Joshua, When were these links created? It can take a couple of crawls to be picked up, especially from smaller sites/pages. Some links take up to 60 days to appear in OSE data. Cheers
