Hello! Sam from Moz's Help Team here! So -  after being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. However, there are a lot of factors which can affect our ability to find and index links to your site. It's important to note that we are always adding new data to our index, but it may take some time for us to discover backlinks to your site based on factors like crawlability of the referring pages, quality of the links and the referring pages, and more. If you are not seeing links that you know you have, you may want to make sure that they can be indexed. It is also a good idea to check to see if we've indexed the page on which that link is found. If we haven't indexed the referring page yet, you won't see your link in our index. You can also add links to Link Tracking Lists. Once you add a link to your tracking lists we will add that page to be crawled. As long as it is accessible to our crawler, you should see the link in our index as soon as we can index those pages. Lastly, I have a great guide here with some things to check around why we may not have found your links yet: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/moz-isnt-finding-your-links If you'd like any further information, please feel free to pop us an email over at help@moz.com. We do also have a great guide to Domain Authority just here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority

Hi, No, MOZ does not have any option to disavow links and you should not be worried about disavowing links in Moz. Instead, disavow them from the Google Search Console because Google is the search engine that ranks your site according to proper linking.

Hi, Great question, Link Explorer and the Links tab of Moz Pro Campaigns are both tied to our Link index, which is constantly updating. After being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. When discovered or lost links are found, we'll update our database to reflect those changes in your scores and link counts. We prioritize the links we crawl based on a machine learning algorithm to mimic Google's index. This does not mean that DA and PA will change with every data update, though; it will only change if we find new link data for a respective site. I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly when your DA will update it depends on when we find new equity passing backlinks to your site. You can read more about our new Link Explorer tool and our index here. You can also read more about how our Link index compares with our competitors here https://backlinko.com/best-backlink-checker Feel free to reach out to help@moz.com with any further questions

Hi snjaoieiw, To get a detailed answer from Moz staff on what DA is, you might consider searching the Q&A forum. In short, though, it is a Moz metric (not a Google or Bing metric) that takes into consideration the number (and quality) of backlinks your website has. That said, have you been working on building up high quality backlinks? -Zack

  • Hey Chris, All of the data for both the Mozbar and OSE comes from the same index, so you shouldn't really be seeing different information between the two. Can you please let me know the URL that you are on when using the Mozbar and then the full OSE URL that the Mozbar directs you to when you click the link for the root domain stats? I am looking for the actuall opensiteexplorer.org URL, i.e. http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/links?site=www.seomoz.org. That information will help me investigate if you are experiencing a bug. I look forward to hearing from you soon. -Chiaryn

  • This is correct. Raven Tools had to jump through the same hoops to keep their Google API. That's why they had to dump their Rank Tracking.

  • From the horse's mouth: How is influence calculated? Influence is an amalgamation of follower count, tweets, age of the account, and influence of followers. This is a proprietary metric of Followerwonk that is much like a Klout score. http://www.seomoz.org/help/followerwonk  In addition: Influence Score The first metric is Followerwonk's calculation of influence. A high influence score means that the followers engage with the tweets sent by the bookmaker through favorites, replies and retweets. http://www.bettingexpert.com/blog/do-bookmakers-buy-fake-twitter-followers

  • Just a suggestion...Along with using the SEOMoz tool you can also use the Google Webmasters Tool > Optimization > Content Keywords > Click on the listed Content Keywords > Will show you the top pages that carries that Content Keyword within your website. Even though this does not show the ranking for that keyword it will give you a clear picture as to which pages are the top pages for those keywords within your website in Google's eyes. And, since Google Webmasters does not show the keyword combinations but only one keyword, you can always click on those two (or three) keywords separately and then combine them yourself to find out which pages are prominent in combining those keywords. Also, this will give you an idea as to which keywords need to be optimized more. So, using this in combination with the SEOMoz tool will give you a better picture.

  • Thanks for that. I've seen that, but assumed because the contents were empty, it was OK. I guess my problem is that it's part of the template, so not sure how to remove it. I'll keep digging.

  • Unfortunately, if your site is being indexed (and the duplicates are gone) but it isn't ranking at all, this may have nothing to do with the redirection. You could be looking at a more classic penalty, for various reasons. Have you run a header checker, like: http://tools.seobook.com/server-header-checker/ It's always good to make sure the redirects are doing what you think they're doing (they aren't multi-hop, 302s, etc.). Next step is to try very targeted searches - brand queries and long-tail queries in quotes. See if you can rank for anything - is it a total ban or just targeted? At this point, you've got to isolate the problem.

  • You never know, it could happen I've pinged our developers to see if there is good work around for this and will let you know if there is one.  That way you can continue getting good use out of the tools.  As far as other engines, we're only focusing on the big 3 right now but there's always a chance of us expanding to other engines in the future.  Another great one for the feature request forum! • As long as you force all pages to https and build links to the https version, it's nothing to worry about. From memory, Matt Cutts said either one is fine.

  • Hi Jazavide! This is Megan from SEOmoz. Sorry about the troubles finding your duplicate URLs! If you click into the duplicate content error, there's a section that says 'other URLs' with numbers that you can click on. Here's a screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/617gjHQFx34 Once you click on these numbers, you'll be able to see the URLs that are duplicates.  You can also find this information by exporting your crawl diagnostics to a CSV: http://screencast.com/t/dS0ptEPx We also have a great resource for learning more about the crawl diagnostics section of your campaign in our Help Hub: http://www.seomoz.org/help/crawl-diagnostics I hope this helps!

  • Hi Alexandros, Unfortunately, we do not currently have an update on this issue. It is a very complicated process to correct the formatting in the web app, so it is taking us some time to resolve the problem. I'm very sorry about that. We will update the entry in our Known Issues form when we have any further information: https://seomoz.zendesk.com/entries/21080226-encoding-issues-with-non-latin-characters -Chiaryn

  • Hi there, Thanks for zen like patience working with me during the holidays.  Let's dig in!  I am glad that you were more satisfied with my recent answer, I am sorry that wasn't more of a expert of JS to help you alleviate the problem. JS has been historically a hard language to parse and crawl, so these are some of Roger's growing pains and I can understand that it can be a frustrating experience.  Like I mentioned, some of the reasons that your site only returned the minimum amount of links was due to embedded JS links inside the I-Box, which our crawler will not crawl in that environment because it sees the links as images rather than standard html links.  Usually if you want a view of how Roger crawls your site, I recommend turning off JS to see what your site actually looks like Limitations like this one is why we offer a month long trial so if customers run into problems we can have time to alleviate it before it actually bills.  Hope that helps! • I just wanted to follow up with you in this thread too, per your request in your help team ticket. Unfortunately, universal results still aren't working. We tried to fix this about 1.5 weeks ago, but ran into some other problems.  I've just checked with our engineers, though, and we hope to have this fix in place by the end of the week.  I'll update this thread again as soon as we know more! Cheers!

  • Hi Jon, Sorry for any confusion. The most common cause of discrepancies like this is when you are looking at two different metrics. It could be LRD for the URL vs SubDomain or Root Domain or any combination of those. If you can provide me an example I can take a closer look and confirm what's happening for you. If you aren't comfortable sharing publicly, you're always welcome to email in at help [at] seomoz.org. Thanks! Joel.

  • Hi there, Thanks for reaching out. Chris is pretty much correct. The limit is due to the bandwidth issues of running those reports for each keyword. While you may only be interested in the percentage, the report itself uses the SERP and the metrics for each of those pages to generate that percentage. Unfortunately that's a processor intense function so doing so many at once would take a long time and would likely time out. I hope that answers your question. Cheers, Joel.
