Hello! Sam from Moz's Help Team here! So -  after being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. However, there are a lot of factors which can affect our ability to find and index links to your site. It's important to note that we are always adding new data to our index, but it may take some time for us to discover backlinks to your site based on factors like crawlability of the referring pages, quality of the links and the referring pages, and more. If you are not seeing links that you know you have, you may want to make sure that they can be indexed. It is also a good idea to check to see if we've indexed the page on which that link is found. If we haven't indexed the referring page yet, you won't see your link in our index. You can also add links to Link Tracking Lists. Once you add a link to your tracking lists we will add that page to be crawled. As long as it is accessible to our crawler, you should see the link in our index as soon as we can index those pages. Lastly, I have a great guide here with some things to check around why we may not have found your links yet: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/moz-isnt-finding-your-links If you'd like any further information, please feel free to pop us an email over at help@moz.com. We do also have a great guide to Domain Authority just here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority

Hi, No, MOZ does not have any option to disavow links and you should not be worried about disavowing links in Moz. Instead, disavow them from the Google Search Console because Google is the search engine that ranks your site according to proper linking.

Hi, Great question, Link Explorer and the Links tab of Moz Pro Campaigns are both tied to our Link index, which is constantly updating. After being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. When discovered or lost links are found, we'll update our database to reflect those changes in your scores and link counts. We prioritize the links we crawl based on a machine learning algorithm to mimic Google's index. This does not mean that DA and PA will change with every data update, though; it will only change if we find new link data for a respective site. I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly when your DA will update it depends on when we find new equity passing backlinks to your site. You can read more about our new Link Explorer tool and our index here. You can also read more about how our Link index compares with our competitors here https://backlinko.com/best-backlink-checker Feel free to reach out to help@moz.com with any further questions

Hi snjaoieiw, To get a detailed answer from Moz staff on what DA is, you might consider searching the Q&A forum. In short, though, it is a Moz metric (not a Google or Bing metric) that takes into consideration the number (and quality) of backlinks your website has. That said, have you been working on building up high quality backlinks? -Zack

  • Would this explain why my rankings report says my competitors are not in the Top 50, but are actually ranked ahead of me?

  • Yes. If you do not want the archived pages to be indexed you can use the noindex directive. This will alert Google to not index those pages and also tell the SEOMoz crawler to not report errors or warnings on those pages. Mike

  • Correct. When you setup to campaign a subfolder, you will only get crawl diagnostics and reports for that particular subfolder. SEOMoz Help states, "The PRO Web App crawls, grades and checks rankings only for pages found on that domain or subfolder. When tracking a subfolder, we will only crawl pages that exist in that specific folder. We will not crawl links that go to other folders." If you were to create 2 campaigns: subdomain.example.com/USA subdomain.example.com/Canada And both pages are in English, you will get different crawl diagnostics and other metrics for these campaigns. Does that make sense? Mike

  • OK.  Here's what I can tell you.  I use two different accounts in chrome.  In both of them I have cleared my cache and cookies.  In one account it works just fine.  In the other, I get the problem. So, when I go to this current page, http://www.seomoz.org/q/q-a-performance-improvements, and click on "reply" I get a brand new page on which to enter my reply.  The url of the new page is http://www.seomoz.org/q/reply/122471/replies/new. On that page, the javascript error console gives me this: http://imgur.com/8aLFmfG Hope that helps.

  • SEOmoz, or any other tool on the web, won't be available to tell you if the canonical URLs are set up correctly or not. Instead they can give you a notification that the specific page has a canonical URL. An advice in your case, do not use automatic canonical generation for ecommerce websites, because you might end up with two different urls with the same content having the canonical urls pointing to themselves. Page A will tell Search Engines that Page A is the original version of the page, while Page B will tell Search Engines that Page B is the original version. If you would be the Search Engine, would you be confused? I usually use the notifications that I get from SEOmoz to check and try to avoid situations as described above. I hope it helped, Istvan

  • Hey Juana, First start with your company name, then any uniquely branded item OR service you sell EG/ Apple would add Apple, iPad, iPhone, iPod etc EG/ SEOMoz would add SEOMoz, Open Site Explorer, maybe PRO Dashboard (although this is getting to be too broad) etc I would also add things like Models numbers if this is a defining part of you business (EG/ a TV OR car manufacturer) and home page URL's (EG/ www.apple.com) as it is part of your brand... Hope this helps, Dan

  • Thanks Takeshi. I am using Open Site Explorer, and notice a drop there too, but realized different results with the addition or exclusion of "www". I have used the other tools you mentioned. I just wanted to make sure that Google wasn't trying to mask or restrict our access to seeing website's backlinks. That could really hurt our abilities to build backlinks. Thanks for your input.

  • Thanks, Miranda! That is helpful. I have another question. Is there any way to get rankings for a keyword term retroactively? For example, if I added a keyword term to my campaign on March 1, but I want to know where we ranked for that term beginning on Feb. 15, is it possible to get that data? I'm guessing no, but just wanted to check in case I am missing something. Thanks!

  • Thank you, Abraham. That will be great moving forward. But then this indicates that it won't be possible for me to view my reports between the time of my joining SEOmoz in October, 2012 and today. Is that correct? I admit to being bummed if it is.... Makes me want to suggest that the SEOmoz team include some language/instructions/warnings about that for users when they are initially setting up their campaigns so they don't assume that reports will always be available and so they know they have to take this action to make them available. I really wish I had known to do this. We do have Google Analytics properly set up but I love the SEOmoz report structure. Thanks again!
