Hello! Sam from Moz's Help Team here! So -  after being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. However, there are a lot of factors which can affect our ability to find and index links to your site. It's important to note that we are always adding new data to our index, but it may take some time for us to discover backlinks to your site based on factors like crawlability of the referring pages, quality of the links and the referring pages, and more. If you are not seeing links that you know you have, you may want to make sure that they can be indexed. It is also a good idea to check to see if we've indexed the page on which that link is found. If we haven't indexed the referring page yet, you won't see your link in our index. You can also add links to Link Tracking Lists. Once you add a link to your tracking lists we will add that page to be crawled. As long as it is accessible to our crawler, you should see the link in our index as soon as we can index those pages. Lastly, I have a great guide here with some things to check around why we may not have found your links yet: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/moz-isnt-finding-your-links If you'd like any further information, please feel free to pop us an email over at help@moz.com. We do also have a great guide to Domain Authority just here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority

Hi, No, MOZ does not have any option to disavow links and you should not be worried about disavowing links in Moz. Instead, disavow them from the Google Search Console because Google is the search engine that ranks your site according to proper linking.

Hi, Great question, Link Explorer and the Links tab of Moz Pro Campaigns are both tied to our Link index, which is constantly updating. After being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. When discovered or lost links are found, we'll update our database to reflect those changes in your scores and link counts. We prioritize the links we crawl based on a machine learning algorithm to mimic Google's index. This does not mean that DA and PA will change with every data update, though; it will only change if we find new link data for a respective site. I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly when your DA will update it depends on when we find new equity passing backlinks to your site. You can read more about our new Link Explorer tool and our index here. You can also read more about how our Link index compares with our competitors here https://backlinko.com/best-backlink-checker Feel free to reach out to help@moz.com with any further questions

Hi snjaoieiw, To get a detailed answer from Moz staff on what DA is, you might consider searching the Q&A forum. In short, though, it is a Moz metric (not a Google or Bing metric) that takes into consideration the number (and quality) of backlinks your website has. That said, have you been working on building up high quality backlinks? -Zack

  • Hello Matthew, this absolutely sounds like a bug. Can you send this to help@moz.com so we can collaborate with our engineers and get this fixed for you? Sorry for the difference in data, this looks too far off to be normal.

  • According to my experience, it also doesn't add the likes from bitly or other URL shorteners.

  • The best way to test if there's a redirect is to go to the site itself and see if it redirects, or to use a server header checker. OSE will often give you an alert if we detect a redirect, too.

  • Hi Veronica! Here's a few things you can do with your Moz Subscription that might be worth checking out: Moz Analytics provides crawl data -- We crawl your site and look for issues with how the site is set up that may impact a search engine's ability to crawl your site's content. You can use this to make sure that all the pages on your site can be found and ranked on search engines. On-page data -- If you go into GA and look at the keywords already sending your site traffic, you can track all of those in Moz Analytics. The next week, we'll automatically grade each top ranking page for the keywords you added (A means the page's content is really well optimized for the keyword, F means not so much). If you click into a grade report, we provide recommendations on how to better optimize for that keyword. Link Data - As you mentioned, we provide information about the highest quality links you're receiving (one of the biggest factors behind where you rank in a search engine), links your competitors are getting, and places where a site mentions your brand name, but doesn't link to you (link opportunities). Brand & Mentions - You can use this section of Moz Analytics to track where certain terms are being mentioned throughout the web. This is useful because you can track your own brand so you can get involved in those conversations. You can see who is talking about your competitors / industry and find content outreach opportunities or other places to get involved in the conversation. It may also give you ideas for new content to write. Research Tools - By having a paid Moz Subscription, you can also use all of our research tools. Open Site Explorer is great for link research. Rank Tracker and Keyword Difficulty are good supplements to keyword research. Followerwonk provides some really interesting tools for growing your social network size and influence. The Moz Toolbar makes it really easy to do research on the fly while you browse the web. Let me know which of these areas sounds like it might be of most interest to you and if you have any other questions I'd be happy to answer them! Thanks, Miranda Rensch - Product Manager

  • The drop in DA came before the the upload of the new website. Also the bank links according to Moz seem to have disappeared prior to the new upload. Thanks

  • Yesterday another crawl failed. Moz's Help team told me on the 15th of November: 'Our engineers are looking at this now and I should have news for you today. Sorry for the delay, I'm sure we can figure this one out.' Since that day I haven't received one message from the Help team, very disappointing. I'm missing the data of one month now and this is not acceptable. Marcel

  • It appears that your site hasn't been crawled by Moz yet and that it may be new.  It will take time and considerable effort to build your domain's authority. Be sure to read through The SEO Guide From Moz for info on how to increase authority.

  • Hello, I'm wondering if anything has changed with regards to Yandex.  I can find keyword data for volumes of search queries, but nothing on the level of competition.  Here is the Yandex keyword tool.  http://wordstat.yandex.ru/?cmd=words  But this tool doesn't provide anything in teh way of keyword competitiveness. Does anyone know anything about Yandex keyword competition? Thanks, Rob

  • Hi 1akal, Drilling further down into the GetListed.org page vzPRO linked to, you will find two sections that will help you: https://getlisted.org/static/resources/local-citations-by-city.html https://getlisted.org/static/resources/local-citations-by-category.html I also recommend that you check out the Local Search Ecosystem 2013 infographic to understand the relationship between data providers: http://moz.com/blog/2013-local-search-ecosystems Adam Steele wrote a very good post on US citations earlier this year: http://www.leanmarketing.ca/lean-top-50-best-local-citation-sources-in-the-usa/ However, if you are not located in a major city, you may not find a lot of preexisting lists of things like classified, local blogs, news sites, etc., for your city. You will likely need to do your research beyond the broad data provided by resources like the ones I've linked to, above. In that event, you will need to learn how to judge the quality of a citation. There is no standardized way to do so, but I really like Darren Shaw's article on this topic: http://www.whitespark.ca/blog/post/12-how-to-identify-quality-citation-sources Hope these resources help you!

  • I'm probably biased, but I find it hard to beat Domain Authority in the long run. Julie Joyce at Search Engine Land recently did a writeup of the various competing domain metrics, including Domain Authority: http://searchengineland.com/down-with-toolbar-pagerank-and-up-with-what-175886 A couple of things I should note: It's common for DA to fluctuate normally with each index The recent government shutdown included 1000s of subdomains across the Web, which had a ripple effect across many Moz metrics, including MozTrust, which feeds into Domain Authority DA is a relative metric, so when you see your DA rise or fall, you'll often see similar results in your competition. This makes DA ideal for a competitive metric. Hope this helps! Best of luck with your SEO.

  • Seems like a nice enough graphic to me. Perhaps the target audience is inclined to share socially and not necessary link. That's very normal. 9 linking root domains is decent and there are probably lower quality ones not being displayed by Open Site Explorer. Pinterest would generate links but you usually won't see this flooding the results in Open Site Explorer, probably due to crawl depth of OSE and similar factors - most of the shares just aren't important enough to index.

  • Your brain is going to be the biggest tool here. A tool can say you're missing meta descriptions for 5000 pages, but if the site only has 100 pages and URL parameters are being indexed and increasing the URL count to 5000 URLs, you need to know that you really only have 100 meta descriptions to worry about, not 5000, and that your far bigger problem is the URL parameters. Here are a few Moz blog posts about audits that you may find useful, in addition to the post written by Danny that's already been shared: http://moz.com/blog/how-to-perform-the-worlds-greatest-seo-audit http://moz.com/blog/site-audits-deliverables-followup-and-implementation http://moz.com/blog/how-to-do-a-site-audit http://moz.com/blog/seo-site-audits-getting-started http://moz.com/blog/find-your-sites-biggest-technical-flaws-in-60-minutes

  • Hello! Thanks for your patience, I had to chat with folks on our Design and Engineering Team before answering your question. Moz chose to use Highcharts for a few reasons. Here are some of the advantages we found: (in no particular order) Robust library (variety of charts, stability/bugs, etc.) Up-to-date design, our team loved the look and feel Good support/documentation Relatively inexpensive to implement and maintain Compatible with multiple browsers Familiarity, our Design and Engineering teams worked with Highcharts in the legacy product Overall, Highcharts solved for Engineering and Design requirements. I hope this is helpful! Let us know if you have any other questions. Cheers, Jackie
