Hello! Sam from Moz's Help Team here! So -  after being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. However, there are a lot of factors which can affect our ability to find and index links to your site. It's important to note that we are always adding new data to our index, but it may take some time for us to discover backlinks to your site based on factors like crawlability of the referring pages, quality of the links and the referring pages, and more. If you are not seeing links that you know you have, you may want to make sure that they can be indexed. It is also a good idea to check to see if we've indexed the page on which that link is found. If we haven't indexed the referring page yet, you won't see your link in our index. You can also add links to Link Tracking Lists. Once you add a link to your tracking lists we will add that page to be crawled. As long as it is accessible to our crawler, you should see the link in our index as soon as we can index those pages. Lastly, I have a great guide here with some things to check around why we may not have found your links yet: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/moz-isnt-finding-your-links If you'd like any further information, please feel free to pop us an email over at help@moz.com. We do also have a great guide to Domain Authority just here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority

Hi, No, MOZ does not have any option to disavow links and you should not be worried about disavowing links in Moz. Instead, disavow them from the Google Search Console because Google is the search engine that ranks your site according to proper linking.

Hi, Great question, Link Explorer and the Links tab of Moz Pro Campaigns are both tied to our Link index, which is constantly updating. After being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. When discovered or lost links are found, we'll update our database to reflect those changes in your scores and link counts. We prioritize the links we crawl based on a machine learning algorithm to mimic Google's index. This does not mean that DA and PA will change with every data update, though; it will only change if we find new link data for a respective site. I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly when your DA will update it depends on when we find new equity passing backlinks to your site. You can read more about our new Link Explorer tool and our index here. You can also read more about how our Link index compares with our competitors here https://backlinko.com/best-backlink-checker Feel free to reach out to help@moz.com with any further questions

Hi snjaoieiw, To get a detailed answer from Moz staff on what DA is, you might consider searching the Q&A forum. In short, though, it is a Moz metric (not a Google or Bing metric) that takes into consideration the number (and quality) of backlinks your website has. That said, have you been working on building up high quality backlinks? -Zack

  • In Open site explorer, you can put in a URL for a specific page, and it defaults to showing backlinks for just that particular page, not the whole domain.

  • A link checker such as Xenu or Screaming frog may provide you the list of outbound but won't analyse them. You may need to import them into excel and do that manually.

  • Hi Yudhis, With every update of our metrics, which is almost monthly, we adjust them to try and match what we are seeing in the SERPs.  As always there are other factors that we might not be aware of that could effect things in the SERP you are looking at but we do readjust things with every update. • Using the keyword 4 times instead of 2 in your body content will probably do nothing. If you simply add to your existing content and include the keyword 2 times in the new content you are adding, then yes, you could get some benefit there. But if all you do with your existing content is swap phrases, you won't change much with Google. They already know what your page is about. So the only way you could help would be to add more targeted, keyword rich content to what is already there.

  • Hey mdoegel, You're right - we are still counting that page despite the tag. Sorry about that. We don't crawl it further, but it is included in the totals and analyzed for duplicate content. We are planning on removing pages blocked by robots.txt from the total, so perhaps we should also exclude those noindex pages from issue calculation as well. That's in the next couple of months, though... I'm not an expert SEO so I don't know if this would be helpful, but for now, maybe you can use canonicalization to keep those pages from being counted as duplicates? I hope this helps! I'm really sorry for the inconvenience of these errors. Let me know if there's anything else I can do to help. Also, please send me an email at help@seomoz.org with examples and such so our help team can try to fix the bug. Thanks!

  • I see, i wonder what those metrics are. I have seen some pages with a page authority of 50 with only 3 backlinks. So I'm sure their is a correlation with quality of backlinks along with the amount.

  • | Francesco | less than 1 hour ago | [image: pencil.png?1302115723] Edit | Hey Francesco! So, I think I figured out why this is happening. Unfortunately, this website is based on the uk.com domain, which looks and acts like a ccTLD. However, the ccTLD uk.com isn't actually a ccTLD at all, which is why we are treating your site like a subdomain in Linkscape/OSE/Link Analysis in the Web App (Link Analysis is based on domain data instead of subdomain). All of the sites on .uk.com are actually subdomains of the root domain http://uk.com, so when you run your OSE searches, keep that in mind. If you look at your root domain, you'll actually be looking at http://uk.com. I hope this information helps! Sorry for the OSE/Link Analysis confusion. Let me know if I can explain this better!

  • Hey Preet, That's a good question, with a lot of information involved, actually! I'm so sorry that you still haven't been able to see your links in Linkscape. Most new sites and links will be indexed by our spiders and available in Linkscape and Open Site Explorer within 60 days, but some take even longer for a plethora of reasons, including crawl-ability of sites, the amount of inbound links to them, and the depth of pages in subdirectories. Just so you know, here's how we do our index: we take the last index, take the 10 billion URLs with the highest mozrank (with a fixed limit on some of the larger domains), and start crawling from the top-down until we've crawled 40,000,000,000 pages (which is about 1/4 of the amount in Google's index). Therefore, if the site is not linked to by one of these seed URLs (or one of the URLs linked to by them in the next update) then it won't show up in our index We update our Linkscape Index every 3 to 5 weeks. Crawling the whole internet to look for links takes 2-3 weeks. And then we've got 1-2 weeks of processing to do on those links to determine which are the most important links etc. You can see a schedule of how often we update, and planned updates here: http://seomoz.zendesk.com/entries/345964-linkscape-update-schedule Linkscape focuses on a breadth-first approach, and thus we nearly always have content from the homepage of websites, externally linked-to pages and pages higher up in a site's information hierarchy. However, deep pages that are buried beneath many layers of navigation are sometimes missed and it may be several index updates before we catch all of these. If our crawlers or data sources are blocked from reaching those URLs, they may not be included in our index (though links that points to those pages will still be available). Finally, the URLs seen by Linkscape must be linked-to by other documents on the web or our index will not include them. For now, the best thing you can do to help your domain become indexed is to work on link building for links from sites with high mozrank. If you need help with that, you may want to ask the PRO Q&A community here! I hope this information helps! While the site and links may not be indexed yet, give it some time - maybe we'll see it in OSE next month. Best of luck, Aaron
