Hello! Sam from Moz's Help Team here! So -  after being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. However, there are a lot of factors which can affect our ability to find and index links to your site. It's important to note that we are always adding new data to our index, but it may take some time for us to discover backlinks to your site based on factors like crawlability of the referring pages, quality of the links and the referring pages, and more. If you are not seeing links that you know you have, you may want to make sure that they can be indexed. It is also a good idea to check to see if we've indexed the page on which that link is found. If we haven't indexed the referring page yet, you won't see your link in our index. You can also add links to Link Tracking Lists. Once you add a link to your tracking lists we will add that page to be crawled. As long as it is accessible to our crawler, you should see the link in our index as soon as we can index those pages. Lastly, I have a great guide here with some things to check around why we may not have found your links yet: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/moz-isnt-finding-your-links If you'd like any further information, please feel free to pop us an email over at help@moz.com. We do also have a great guide to Domain Authority just here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority

Hi, No, MOZ does not have any option to disavow links and you should not be worried about disavowing links in Moz. Instead, disavow them from the Google Search Console because Google is the search engine that ranks your site according to proper linking.

Hi, Great question, Link Explorer and the Links tab of Moz Pro Campaigns are both tied to our Link index, which is constantly updating. After being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. When discovered or lost links are found, we'll update our database to reflect those changes in your scores and link counts. We prioritize the links we crawl based on a machine learning algorithm to mimic Google's index. This does not mean that DA and PA will change with every data update, though; it will only change if we find new link data for a respective site. I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly when your DA will update it depends on when we find new equity passing backlinks to your site. You can read more about our new Link Explorer tool and our index here. You can also read more about how our Link index compares with our competitors here https://backlinko.com/best-backlink-checker Feel free to reach out to help@moz.com with any further questions

Hi snjaoieiw, To get a detailed answer from Moz staff on what DA is, you might consider searching the Q&A forum. In short, though, it is a Moz metric (not a Google or Bing metric) that takes into consideration the number (and quality) of backlinks your website has. That said, have you been working on building up high quality backlinks? -Zack

  • We've seen no changes and experienced no less accurate results since Google's privacy change. I strongly suspect there's no impact from that cross-service tracking back to SERPs/link/crawl/etc. types of data, though over time, greater personalization is certainly a likely outcome and will make the "canonical" rankings gathered in a rank report less and less perfect (though probably still a reasonable benchmark for a while).

  • Hi Phillip, Let me try to address your questions one at a time. Q1: What does the KW Tool relevancy data mean, anyway? A. Google doesn't define relevance in regards to the keyword tool, but in a strict sense these are most "relevant" paid keywords queries Google suggests buying for a given domain, keyword-domain combo, or keyword query. A Google engineer briefly touched on the subject in an Adsense forum: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/AdWords/thread?tid=7b621aceb8c81ceb&hl=en The problem with Google's Adwords tool is that it's designed to return paid search suggestions for ad buys, which is not necessarily how Google sees your site. One way to understand what terms Google sees your site as relevant to is by looking in the "Queries" report of the SEO section in Google Analytics, or the similar report in Webmaster Tools. Unfortunately these metrics aren't' available through the Analytics API. Q2: is there another way to get it or is there another way to do this? You might try SemRush, they have an API, although it's a paid service. Q3: Is there a better approach I should take with the Google API team? Last fall, Google started cracking down on use of the Adwords API for uses other than paid search. This effected many applications including the SEOmoz Keyword Difficulty tool. Unfortunately, the only way to show compliance with the Adwords API is to actually use it for paid search. Richard Baxter of SEO Gadget talked about this in a webinar for SEOmoz (PRO-only). But the short answer is no. Q4: Are there other APIs and Excel plugins that can do this, including the SEOMoz APIs? Not with the functionality you're looking for. SEOmoz APIs don't include keyword data. Again, you might try SemRush.

  • Which means you should have a read of this SEOMoz article about redirection. In regards to your title... It all seems well and good, so it may be one of these other issues that are causing your problem

  • The error appear on a set of URLs that are not valid, and our CMS result an error (a bit like a 404 except that it is not a 404 but a url with bad parameters) So all these url goes to the same error/warning page dynamically generated by the CMS but there is not a redirect. Something that can happen for instance on access denied for protected content. My bet was to place this <meta < span="">name="robots" content="NOODP,NOINDEX,NOFOLLOW" /> on this page.</meta <> SEOmoz tools still report the error of duplicate content. I could of course also set a canonical but I have no idea of which URL to use for it. Exemple of link: http://www.nuxeo.com/en/about/events/jan2011training-boston/moreinfo

  • Thanks, but even though I mentioned links for that page, Gareth really helps with his comment regarding anchor text. That was a miss for me. This is out of order: As to site map I would resubmit just to make sure, but if you have internal links to the page it will get indexed either way. Removing the .php gives you a clean url. here is a good source and I have cut and pasted as well.  To remove the .php from StuntCoders Just use following snippet in order to remove “.php” extension from URL. | | ``` 1 RewriteEngine on 2 RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d 3 RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME}.php -f 4 RewriteRule ^([^/]+)/$ $1.php Best of luck. ``` |

  • This may be the video, Matt Cutts said, the #1 mistake people make in SEO is crawlability He states that crawability biggest step, then great content after thet marketing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6xxcQdAHbI Bing also suggests crawlability is important. Listening to Duane Forrester from Bing he often mentions trust in relation to SEO violations. The wrong use of redirects and canonical tags, errors and wrong dates in sitemaps, and other violations all lead to a loss of trust. This is becoming even more important with microdata. A simple html error can give completely different meaning to the snippets. Up until now the bots had to find the content and work out if it is visible to the user, but now with microdata content is arranged in objects and being able to find and crawl these objects mean that you need to be free of violations

  • Internal links do pass MozRank (and PageRank) and they do help you to rank, but they don't pass nearly the same amount of juice or ranking power as external links. To that end, PA does use internal linking in it's calculation, though it's not as big of a factor.

  • I looked at the directory maybe a month ago and a lot of the links were not working or were very expensive which may be why there was so many thumb downs. A cost column would be helpful

  • The ones saying it's long are including the site name. So in the WP plug-in, you're only typing in your title -- Best Blog Post Ever -- but how it's displayed is -- Best Blog Post Ever | Example.com -- and that's what the SEOmoz tool is picking up as your entire title tag.

  • I'm not a fan of trying to stuff with keywords, but I do try and make sure they are in the URL (not always possible), in the title, description and somewhere towards the top of the page - usually an H1 or title of some sort. If you really must try and hit a percentage, don't ever try and go for more than about 4-5% (an an absolute max). Google tell us that in the first part of the page they should get a feeling for what it is about... So... Above the line - descriptive content Below the line - supporting content Andy

  • Hi Echolls, You can view the Linkscape Update Calendar here: http://apiwiki.seomoz.org/w/page/25141119/Linkscape%20Schedule Generally, the index updates around every 4 weeks or so. It takes a couple weeks to crawl the web (yes, all the important parts) and another couple of weeks to process the data. So for very recent links, it could take up to 6 weeks for them to show, depending on where they fall in the schedule. Once the links are indexed, it's very likely your DA and mozTrust will be effected as well. Best of luck with your SEO!

  • Open Site Explorer is the tool you are looking for.  Generally, you want to seek out links from websites/pages that are relevant to your niche and have a strong Domain/Page Authority, which is a reflection of the strength and diversity of their inbound link profile.  The more authoritative the page or domain, the stronger the link. As for determining if a website is low quality (beyond SEOmoz authority metrics), you can use Open Site Explorer dive into the target website's backlinks.  You should also obviously view the website and see if it passes a quick human review - is the website well organized, filled with high quality content, and well designed?  If a website's strongest links appear spammy or their on-site tactics appear to be anything less than clean, you might want to consider moving on to the next opportunity. In general, though, don't fret too much about making sure that each and every link opportunity presented to you is 100% clean.  It is highly, highly unlikely that your website will ever be negatively impacted by an external link; even the most manipulative link tactics are usually just ignored by Google.  Focus on keeping your on-site tactics clean and making sure that any external links ON your website are to good neighborhoods.  Moreover, focus on building links with websites that have strong followings or large communities around them - don't forget, referral traffic can be every bit as powerful as organic search traffic. The Official Google Webmaster Blog published a great post last year about getting quality links to your site.  It may be worth the read.

  • My Mister G, I'm sorry for the confusion and issues with your traffic data. One thing to keep in mind is that traffic data is updated on a weekly basis and the week starts on Monday. Your traffic data will updated on Monday the 23rd and that's why it is currently a week off. Do keep in mind that even though it will update on Monday, it is not guaranteed what time it will actually update on Monday. Another thing is that all this data is imported directly from Google Analytics and sometimes there can be a problem with the connection. The best thing to do in that scenario is to go into your campaign settings and disconnect, then reconnect. All of you data will be updated. Hope that helps! Kenny

  • Yes "/" means the home page. How are you targeting your keywords. Do you have seperate pages for each of the keywords? It is my experience that it is very difficult to rank well on more than two keywords on a single page. Having five keywords calls for several landing pages. -Rasmus
