Hello! Sam from Moz's Help Team here! So -  after being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. However, there are a lot of factors which can affect our ability to find and index links to your site. It's important to note that we are always adding new data to our index, but it may take some time for us to discover backlinks to your site based on factors like crawlability of the referring pages, quality of the links and the referring pages, and more. If you are not seeing links that you know you have, you may want to make sure that they can be indexed. It is also a good idea to check to see if we've indexed the page on which that link is found. If we haven't indexed the referring page yet, you won't see your link in our index. You can also add links to Link Tracking Lists. Once you add a link to your tracking lists we will add that page to be crawled. As long as it is accessible to our crawler, you should see the link in our index as soon as we can index those pages. Lastly, I have a great guide here with some things to check around why we may not have found your links yet: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/moz-isnt-finding-your-links If you'd like any further information, please feel free to pop us an email over at help@moz.com. We do also have a great guide to Domain Authority just here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority

Hi, No, MOZ does not have any option to disavow links and you should not be worried about disavowing links in Moz. Instead, disavow them from the Google Search Console because Google is the search engine that ranks your site according to proper linking.

Hi, Great question, Link Explorer and the Links tab of Moz Pro Campaigns are both tied to our Link index, which is constantly updating. After being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. When discovered or lost links are found, we'll update our database to reflect those changes in your scores and link counts. We prioritize the links we crawl based on a machine learning algorithm to mimic Google's index. This does not mean that DA and PA will change with every data update, though; it will only change if we find new link data for a respective site. I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly when your DA will update it depends on when we find new equity passing backlinks to your site. You can read more about our new Link Explorer tool and our index here. You can also read more about how our Link index compares with our competitors here https://backlinko.com/best-backlink-checker Feel free to reach out to help@moz.com with any further questions

Hi snjaoieiw, To get a detailed answer from Moz staff on what DA is, you might consider searching the Q&A forum. In short, though, it is a Moz metric (not a Google or Bing metric) that takes into consideration the number (and quality) of backlinks your website has. That said, have you been working on building up high quality backlinks? -Zack

  • Hi yacpro13, There have been questions on a similar note in the Q&A before if you have a look here and here. Basically the long and short of things is that yes, they are two completely different terms. There is evidence that adding a plural to something for example actually implies changes in what the searcher was looking for and therefore it's arguably appropriate that different content appear. While this is a huge pain, you want to make sure that you are targeting a term that you think is appropriate. Out of the tea cup, teacups and teacup, which one of these has the current SERP that is around what you're looking for? Have a think about what people would search for and focus on the big SERPs, not the little ones on the side.

  • Now that nofollow links are "evaporating" PageRank, to use Google's terminology, I think you have to count them as normal links. No-follow or follow link doesnt important you need to count all links. On-Page Report only count page link.

  • I do believe seoMoz engineers are working hard to achieve this. You can check what updates are done on seoMoz on the change-log page. It will offer you a better picture of what they work on and also you can suggest this info or other great ideas of what the tool could contain to our most loved Roger. Gr., Istvan P.S. Don't spam Roger please

  • One of the tragic downfalls of Facebook Pages, in my opinion, is what you just noticed. The 8 likes are referring to http://www.fibers.com Your 1500+ likes are referring to http://www.facebook.com/fibers At this time, there's no way to combine the two counts (which is just as stupid as it seems, because the likes for a domain homepage should absolutely be tied to the business page's likes, in my opinion). Unfortunately this is an inherent flaw in Facebook's open graph, and not something related to the SEOMoz tool. So, if you go to put a Like button on your homepage, you have to make the decision of whether you want that to count as a like for your homepage (which may help your SEO a little, but does little to nothing for your Facebook marketing) or count as a like for your fan page (which is great for adding fans, but does little to nothing for SEO). For what it's worth, I tend to use the Like button box using my facebook page URL throughout the site to make sure people are fans, then I'll use a page-specific like button on all of the subpages of my site so that people can like individual products, etc. This is also how SEOmoz approaches the issue if you take a look at one of their blog pages. On the sidebar you'll see the like box (pointed at their Facebook page), and on the bottom of the post you'll see a like button for that specific post.

  • Hi Daniel, you're getting a lot of good advice in this thread and I know it's a lot to take in at first. I've never worked in beauty so don't know off the top of my head but the beginners guide does have a section on keyword research. And here's a timely post on simplifying keyword research which gives a brief introduction to some of the tools you have at your disposal from SEOmoz.

  • Thank you both! These are great answers and probably true in this case but I guess that would lead me to a secondary question. I have seen questions in here about pages not being crawled with the SEOMOZ Campaign tool. So I hate to now post the question, "why are my pages not being crawled?" But that is the mystery. As soon as I made the new allow all robots text file and submitted it, I checked and instantly my pages were being crawled again. Now nothing again, it just sits at N/A. As well as the traffic dropped off... Confusing. But I am just going to give it awhile to look for overall patterns or maybe it is a glitch with the SEOMOZ tool that just happens to be corresponding with the traffic dips. LOL, I know strange things like this do occur in this business. Thanks and if anyone has anymore ideas I am happy to hear them.  I was worried I had some sort of malware or whatever the hackers do to your site????!!!!

  • Hi Fraser, Hopefully I could help you out, if click in your campaign overview on the settings link of your campaign. You'll get something like this screenshot. The button to disconnect could be found in the right bottom of your screen. When clicking to 'Disconnect from GA' you'll get an extra javascript alert to make sure you want to disconnect. Hope this helps!

  • Vijay, I would start with this from Danny Dover's blog on SEOmoz: The Beginner's Checklist for Small Business SEO I would also have the SEOMoz Web Developer's SEO Cheat Sheet also from Danny Dover Note: Near the bottom just above the Tweet button is a downloadable PDF icon. And here is the link for all the juicy SEOmoz information on SEO These are all great tools. Best

  • Yes and no. The number of outbound links on a page is an important factor, but it can be outweighed by a huge number of other factors, such as the position of the link on a page, how "editorial" it is, and other considerations. My favorite article on the subject. http://www.seomoz.org/blog/10-illustrations-on-search-engines-valuation-of-links Even though OSE doesn't report these, they are still important considerations to look at. For the most part, you'll have to use your best human judgement when evaluating link targets and ask questions like: Am I likely to get a link high on the page? Is the link likely to last, or get pushed to the archives of another URL? Will relevant text surrond the link, or will it appear simply as an item in a long list of links? Etc, etc. MozRank, PageAuthority, DomainAuthority and MozTrust are all great metrics for determining the value of a link, but they are not the final word. In aggregate, I would say they are more important than looking at the number of outbound links, but in the end each link target must be judged on its own merits.

  • AIGB, First we need to know which page? IF you redirected www.example.com/old-page to www.example.com/new-page and you did so in the .htaccess file, then when using OSE, there are a couple of things to consider: First OSE crawls roughly once a month. The next is scheduled for Valentine's Day. So nothing will show up different prior to that.  Next, once you make the change, it will not be instantaneous. We do this fairly often with redesigns on sites where we are taking over the site and doing the SEO. We just made the switch on one roughly two weeks ago and did a url to url switch (actually to a similar site/ same product). Today I notice that we are up slightly in PA and there are two new links on the new site. Typically, it will take two to three months to see the majority of the juice on the new url. A law firm we changed in late August shows that all has moved to the new site and the site has higher DA and home page PA than the original. While the old site shows slightly reduced DA and PA (which it will lose over time).  In OSE if you do the search on the old url, it will tell you that hey this redirects to new url. Do you want this or the old one? You can then look at either. If you did this and it is showing a PA of 1 there is something not correct. I would need to see the two urls to be aware of what is happening. but you should not be seeing any change prior to the update unless the 301 was placed prior to the last one. Best.

  • Looks like we had a minor bug and it got fixed last night - you should be able to see the duplicates now. I checked out a couple, and we're crawling a few tracking parameters in URLs, such as: utm_source=enews&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=enews20120117 Looks like these might be links in an e-mail newsletter? The good news is that Google is pretty good about ignoring these, and it looks like your canonical tag is properly configured. I think we may be reporting these too aggressively. As far as I can tell, you should be ok.
