Hello! Sam from Moz's Help Team here! So -  after being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. However, there are a lot of factors which can affect our ability to find and index links to your site. It's important to note that we are always adding new data to our index, but it may take some time for us to discover backlinks to your site based on factors like crawlability of the referring pages, quality of the links and the referring pages, and more. If you are not seeing links that you know you have, you may want to make sure that they can be indexed. It is also a good idea to check to see if we've indexed the page on which that link is found. If we haven't indexed the referring page yet, you won't see your link in our index. You can also add links to Link Tracking Lists. Once you add a link to your tracking lists we will add that page to be crawled. As long as it is accessible to our crawler, you should see the link in our index as soon as we can index those pages. Lastly, I have a great guide here with some things to check around why we may not have found your links yet: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/moz-isnt-finding-your-links If you'd like any further information, please feel free to pop us an email over at help@moz.com. We do also have a great guide to Domain Authority just here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority

Hi, No, MOZ does not have any option to disavow links and you should not be worried about disavowing links in Moz. Instead, disavow them from the Google Search Console because Google is the search engine that ranks your site according to proper linking.

Hi, Great question, Link Explorer and the Links tab of Moz Pro Campaigns are both tied to our Link index, which is constantly updating. After being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. When discovered or lost links are found, we'll update our database to reflect those changes in your scores and link counts. We prioritize the links we crawl based on a machine learning algorithm to mimic Google's index. This does not mean that DA and PA will change with every data update, though; it will only change if we find new link data for a respective site. I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly when your DA will update it depends on when we find new equity passing backlinks to your site. You can read more about our new Link Explorer tool and our index here. You can also read more about how our Link index compares with our competitors here https://backlinko.com/best-backlink-checker Feel free to reach out to help@moz.com with any further questions

Hi snjaoieiw, To get a detailed answer from Moz staff on what DA is, you might consider searching the Q&A forum. In short, though, it is a Moz metric (not a Google or Bing metric) that takes into consideration the number (and quality) of backlinks your website has. That said, have you been working on building up high quality backlinks? -Zack

  • Stuart, I think this will depend on the context you are using when you say campaign? Assuming you are using a Twitter button and are wanting to get social metrics from it for the site overall, I would think you are better off with only one site wide. Also, of the plugins available, I am not aware of any that give you multiple options. That said, if you want to use your personal for a page and your business for a page (assuming you are not blogging where you could set the personal as an example to the blog portion and the business to the site pages portion) you are likely able to use two different plugins one for pages where in you are using personal and one for business.  On plugins that are site wide, you will likely need to have a blog for one and the site for the other. Hope this helps,

  • Hi Tarik, Unfortunately, no one tool can track all your links. Open Site Explorer is the best tool on the market (in my opinion) for backlink research, but Google Webmaster will almost always show you more. The problem with Webmaster tools is it often shows you "junk" links, links that pass no value, and it leaves out many of the links that count. It leaves a lot to be desired in terms of finding actionable insights into your incoming link profile. The advantages of Open Site Explorer are two-fold. 1. SEOmoz tends to show you the links that pass value, filtering out most of the "junk" that Google doesn't count anyway, and 2. SEOmoz attaches metrics to the URLs of the linking pages and domains (DomainAuthority, MozTrust, Etc) so you better understand the value of your backlinks and those of your competitors. That said, SEOmoz isn't the only game in town. Majestic does a fair job of reporting links, and you'll often find links there you can't find in other places. My tool of choice is SEOmoz, because of the accuracy of the Index and the associated metrics. In the end, you'll have to discover the solution that works best for you.

  • Hi willwatrous, Unfortunately, there is no way to custom sort the keywords on on-page optimization reports. One work-around it export to CSV, and sort in spreadsheet. Sorry for the inconvenience. I do think this is a great idea, and probably something we could do to make your life a little easier. We have a feature request forum that we use to plan new products and features. Please post your idea there so it can be properly logged! Thanks in advance! Cheers, Jackie

  • Hi Mark, Each crawl report takes approximately 1 week. The crawl commences each week on the day that you originally started your campaign. So if you set up your campaign on a Monday, each week your new crawl would also start on Monday. (The dates in the Campaign manager can be a little deceptive. Most dates refer to the date the crawl started, not the date it ended, so it make it look like the time between crawls is longer than it actually is.) So you should be getting your new report in a day or two. If it takes longer than that, feel free to contact the help team at help@seomoz.org. As a PRO member, you can also try the custom crawl for a 3000 page crawl. It usually takes about 24 hours and returns your results in a spreadsheet format.

  • Hey Peter, Sorry about the confusing crawl diagnostics. Since this is more of a Help question, I am going to migrate this over to ZenDesk and answer you there. The Q&A forum is usually reserved for SEO questions, not questions about trouble shooting our software. That's why the Help Team is here! :] Thanks, Chiaryn

  • For checking rankings, I've found SEMRush to be very useful. Not sure about automation, but it has fairly easy access to data and it allows you to export to Excel or CSV.

  • Hi Robert, Thank you very much for the response. Some of what you say makes complete sense. Let me explain further. This site was built in or around 2007, it is my uncles store, which is a bricks and mortar store as well. From 07 to Sept 2011, they basically didn't know how to run a website, and were burnt several times by SEO firms and also by the people who built the site and continue to do the updates we request for it. Its a very limited site and needs updating fast, as the features just are not there to help us grow. Take H1 for example, I have no control over this, the company that done this site is a multi million pound firm, owned by a national newspaper in the UK. When I came in in Sept 11, I changed a few things and do it for free. As they have been stung for so much on the past, so they are already playing catch up on their budget and on their competitors, who have had all that time from 07-11 to build themselves up. £500 is a going rate in the UK, and I would happily pay it. But the problem is that I don't think the budget is there to pay it without getting results. A company who have redesigned the competitions 2 sites and done a full SEO package for them, we looked at, almost went with but decided to try me to just start getting more visits and sales first. To see us through past Xmas. Our competitor are now dropping that SEO firm, who are a big company, becuas ethey are not getting them any results and are paying them a fortune, well over £500 a month. Since I took over in Sept 11, our visits have gone up some 40%, our sales from Sept - Dec are up 40% on the same time last year. But for Jan and Feb, we seem to be dropping back down in sales. Our Twitter account has gone from 50 to 850 followers, we now have a FB page and on over 250 Likes. We have just set up a blog and a YouTube channel also. So we are progressing and growing. The problem I see is we have a week were sales are great, then we die off for 4-6 days, then it picks up, then it might go dead for a week, then another bust. When I first took over, I did the www. thing in Google, I have selected the www version. I have told the web design firm to 301 to that. So I am not sure why its web5, I will pick this up with them. They are a nightmare to work with and considering that site cost £15,000, yes £15,000 its an absolute joke for what they got in return. It feels like basic OsCommerce to me. Terrible stuff. The title tags I am in the middle of changing, I know they are too long. When I first started I did them to just get stuff online, as the products didn't even have a title and were overloaded with keywords (like 30 words). So I am slowly but surely changing titles to fit into the 70ish characters. The descriptions, I do try to mix them up. With so many products and all similar bar the colour, it becomes hard to get this. eg. 10 t-shirts, same make, model and style, yet only colour is different. By the 5-6th one, your struggling to something totally unique. The Like 2 Fight ad was put up for a friend, as we have big customers from the professional boxing, MMA, UFC etc... come in store. It will be gone soon. Thats another thing with those images, I have no control to say pop up in new window. I agree totally about that point, I hate that myself. We get decent traffic through the Creative Recreation Trainers and various style keywords, same with Cruyff Trainers, certain style we rank well for. I guess I am trying to do too much too fast. As I say, we are willing to pay but the company is on a tight budget, it can't afford another failure at this, 4 years of failure has left them lagging online. The store does very well but online, things need to change. So I would rather learn this stuff myself and help for free at this moment, than risk them signing up a £3000 campaign that could see them go under. If I drew up a list of tasks such as -shorten titles -try harder on descriptions -get rid of like 2 fight ad -sort out the www problem -get the H1 shorted, what would your advise be on this? Throw the H1 on a keyword phrase? Anything else? Thanks again for the response. If anyone else has any pointers, I welcome them. Thanks Will

  • It would be nice to see the weekly search impressions a keyword gets. It's good to know if you are ranking and how many hits you get from that keyword but what would also be nice would be the search impressions on a keyword. At first glance, a 100 clicks on a keyword in a week could seem good but if you had 10,000 impressions then you can get more easy traffic by upping the ctr

  • Different IPs, especially from different networks, is one way that engines determine how related the linker is to the linkee. It's not a foolproof thing (especially in this day and age of cloud hosting, where you could have sites around the globe easily and cheaply). Still, it's better than nothing so SEOMOZ kindly tells you your IP diversity.
