Hello! Sam from Moz's Help Team here! So -  after being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. However, there are a lot of factors which can affect our ability to find and index links to your site. It's important to note that we are always adding new data to our index, but it may take some time for us to discover backlinks to your site based on factors like crawlability of the referring pages, quality of the links and the referring pages, and more. If you are not seeing links that you know you have, you may want to make sure that they can be indexed. It is also a good idea to check to see if we've indexed the page on which that link is found. If we haven't indexed the referring page yet, you won't see your link in our index. You can also add links to Link Tracking Lists. Once you add a link to your tracking lists we will add that page to be crawled. As long as it is accessible to our crawler, you should see the link in our index as soon as we can index those pages. Lastly, I have a great guide here with some things to check around why we may not have found your links yet: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/moz-isnt-finding-your-links If you'd like any further information, please feel free to pop us an email over at help@moz.com. We do also have a great guide to Domain Authority just here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority

Hi, No, MOZ does not have any option to disavow links and you should not be worried about disavowing links in Moz. Instead, disavow them from the Google Search Console because Google is the search engine that ranks your site according to proper linking.

Hi, Great question, Link Explorer and the Links tab of Moz Pro Campaigns are both tied to our Link index, which is constantly updating. After being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. When discovered or lost links are found, we'll update our database to reflect those changes in your scores and link counts. We prioritize the links we crawl based on a machine learning algorithm to mimic Google's index. This does not mean that DA and PA will change with every data update, though; it will only change if we find new link data for a respective site. I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly when your DA will update it depends on when we find new equity passing backlinks to your site. You can read more about our new Link Explorer tool and our index here. You can also read more about how our Link index compares with our competitors here https://backlinko.com/best-backlink-checker Feel free to reach out to help@moz.com with any further questions

Hi snjaoieiw, To get a detailed answer from Moz staff on what DA is, you might consider searching the Q&A forum. In short, though, it is a Moz metric (not a Google or Bing metric) that takes into consideration the number (and quality) of backlinks your website has. That said, have you been working on building up high quality backlinks? -Zack

  • You can exclude those by placing them in a robot.txt file. They crawler will obey that and not follow. Learn about Crawl Diagnostics here. Best of luck in your work! Brandon

  • Unfortunately, there has been a delay. We've posted information on the SEOmoz blog about it at http://www.seomoz.org/blog/linkscape-index-delay-explained.

  • At the time it was indexed it may have been a nofollow link? It is hard to say since our index is so massive. If it shows up as a nofollow link in the next index you may want to reach out to them to verify though.

  • Dr. Pete wrote a good post about "too many links" at http://www.seomoz.org/blog/how-many-links-is-too-many. It's understandable that there are times you need more than 100 links on a page. Do keep in mind that the html sitemap is not the same as an xml sitemap that you would use for the search engines, but the html sitemap is to help orient your visitors.

  • Hi Charlene- It sounds like the pages that are delivering the 404 errors are not something you want to be crawled or indexed. Consider placing these pages in your robots.txt file or using rel noindex on them. Be careful listening to my advice at the moment. I haven't seen your content on the discussed pages, so you need to be 100% sure about what you are doing before changing anything.

  • Check your sitemap. Might have been auto created by a plug in. Might be a redirect and when it was redirected the original url data was left in.... Good luck.

  • Yeah - it should be just temporary (think it was just a few hours this AM when our API servers through Amazon's cloud went wacky). We're working on ways to make them stable, even if/when Amazon's having issues.

  • Hi Denis, Welcome to SEOmoz! Glad to have you on board. There's is a lot to learn, and it's a very much go-at-your-own-pace kind of learning (with a lot of Google searches thrown in with a few years of trial and error) but that's why we're here. 1. Yes, you have a duplicate content issue with your homepage. Probably the easiest way to fix this is with a canonical tag (or secondly, a 301 redirect) You can learn more about these here: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/canonical-url-tag-the-most-important-advancement-in-seo-practices-since-sitemaps http://www.seomoz.org/blog/duplicate-content-block-redirect-or-canonical http://www.seomoz.org/blog/duplicate-content-in-a-post-panda-world 2. On-page reports. Yep, your intuition is correct - you need to click through the blue link to see the report. After this, you'll see a rich report with all sorts of specifics. Here's a tutorial and video on the on-page report. https://seomoz.zendesk.com/entries/20878127-on-page-analysis-for-campaigns Hope this helps! Best of luck with your SEO!

  • Hi! The problem is actually on our end right now, as Linkscape is down. Keep an eye on our Twitter feed @seomoz. We're keeping that updated with status reports. If you have a problem still after Linkscape is working again, sending an email to help@seomoz.org will get you the best support for that. Thanks, and so sorry about the problem.

  • OSE generally updates every month, so it can take up to two months for a link to show up (if the link was added right after a crawl). Sadly, we won't be having an update today, and instead it is scheduled for April 27th. We have a blog post at http://www.seomoz.org/blog/linkscape-index-delay-explained that details why the date slipped. As a side note, at this moment (8:00 am Seattle time) Linkscape is having problems and OSE is down. We're working on it, and you can look to the SEOmoz twitter feed for updates.

  • Hi John! OSE usually updates once a month. The last update was February 27th, and we've had a delay in releasing the next update (it'll be about a month late). For some detailed information about the updates and this delay, please read the blog post at http://www.seomoz.org/blog/linkscape-index-delay-explained

  • Keyword density today is somewhat of a myth. If it is natural, then Google is very forgiving of keyword stuffing, and they have pretty good algorithms to determine what is natural or not. With that in mind, the SEOmoz On page tools should be considered more of a guide than an absolute rule. I could go on, but these two videos say it better than I could: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/advanced-onpage-optimization-whiteboard-friday http://www.seomoz.org/blog/the-new-onpage-optimization-whiteboard-friday

  • SirMax, Domains don't rank. Only pages rank. The front page of a site is not a domain, it is a page and it ranks on its merits.. If the domain is strong, (the combination of many strong pages), its pages will benefit from the domain strength, so if you add new pages, those pages will benefit, if if no other sites link to it. There are caveats - you could have a strong domain, but there could be problems that prevent the pages from ranking - panda and other duplication are such problems.

  • It seems like you're the only person to have had such a bad experience with customer care, could it be that your tone on the phone was similar to the one you are having here? Having said that the rank tracker tool is glitchy but it clearly says above it to simply create a campaign for more accurate results
