Hello! Sam from Moz's Help Team here! So -  after being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. However, there are a lot of factors which can affect our ability to find and index links to your site. It's important to note that we are always adding new data to our index, but it may take some time for us to discover backlinks to your site based on factors like crawlability of the referring pages, quality of the links and the referring pages, and more. If you are not seeing links that you know you have, you may want to make sure that they can be indexed. It is also a good idea to check to see if we've indexed the page on which that link is found. If we haven't indexed the referring page yet, you won't see your link in our index. You can also add links to Link Tracking Lists. Once you add a link to your tracking lists we will add that page to be crawled. As long as it is accessible to our crawler, you should see the link in our index as soon as we can index those pages. Lastly, I have a great guide here with some things to check around why we may not have found your links yet: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/moz-isnt-finding-your-links If you'd like any further information, please feel free to pop us an email over at help@moz.com. We do also have a great guide to Domain Authority just here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority

Hi, No, MOZ does not have any option to disavow links and you should not be worried about disavowing links in Moz. Instead, disavow them from the Google Search Console because Google is the search engine that ranks your site according to proper linking.

Hi, Great question, Link Explorer and the Links tab of Moz Pro Campaigns are both tied to our Link index, which is constantly updating. After being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. When discovered or lost links are found, we'll update our database to reflect those changes in your scores and link counts. We prioritize the links we crawl based on a machine learning algorithm to mimic Google's index. This does not mean that DA and PA will change with every data update, though; it will only change if we find new link data for a respective site. I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly when your DA will update it depends on when we find new equity passing backlinks to your site. You can read more about our new Link Explorer tool and our index here. You can also read more about how our Link index compares with our competitors here https://backlinko.com/best-backlink-checker Feel free to reach out to help@moz.com with any further questions

Hi snjaoieiw, To get a detailed answer from Moz staff on what DA is, you might consider searching the Q&A forum. In short, though, it is a Moz metric (not a Google or Bing metric) that takes into consideration the number (and quality) of backlinks your website has. That said, have you been working on building up high quality backlinks? -Zack

  • Ha! I had a drink with Todd in Brazil last year during a conference. Unfortunately, not a grad of his program.

  • FYI: Opensite explorer (mozbar) is reading the PA wrong for Twitter pages. Unless my personal twitter page has a Domain Auth of 98 So don't pay too much attention to the PA score on Twitter pages plus it's no follow any way. To answer the "not showing in site explorer" question, for a start OSE does not crawl every page on the web, it does a good job of trying but SEOmoz don't have the horse power of Google. The more links you have pointing at your Twitter page the more likely Roger will pick it up, but I really would not worry about it. Also remember that the SEOmoz index only gets updated once a month, so if your page is new that might be why it's not showing yet... Hope that helps

  • Hi... Thank you so much for your reply.. I was implementing  the changeswhich may work.. but they didn't. I recently came to know about updates to seomoz api which are like, SEOmoz Free API: 1 request for every 10 seconds Free Extended and PRO Members: 1 request every 5 seconds SEOmoz Site Intelligence API: 1 request every 2 seconds I think this will help me a lot .. thank you ..

  • Your competitor has 1000 different websites linking to them.  It could be from any page on their site to any page on your site. It's not necessarily their home page.

  • I'd say that standard link building strategy for a content site is split between: Proactive: doing webmaster outreach by email and asking for people to share the content Passive: encourage people to share the content on their own (social sharing buttons being the easiest way to do that) Depending on the value of the content (you'll have to be honest with yourself as to whether it's amazing content, or just decent content) you can have great results from proactive outreach to other site owners. Think of who would find the site valuable and start looking for sites like that. The best place to get started is by reading up on link building / outreach posts here on SEOMoz: http://www.seomoz.org/pages/search_results?q=outreach - Pay attention to email templates and how you might be able to use them for your own situation. Competitive analysis is a great place to start, and there's nothing wrong with spending a little time on directories if it's a one and done thing. I wouldn't spend days on it but there are plenty of high quality directories, especially for specific niches. Don't be scared off without researching each directory first, here's a good article on testing their relative value: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/using-blekkos-seo-data-to-evaluate-web-directories-14678

  • Duncan, Questions are not dumb unless they are not asked. (my bit of Zen for the morning;). It is interesting and I have seen it before. Not sure that I can answer why OSE would show it. It would be interesting to see the site/link if you could supply. As to not findig a link to the page, are you saying it was not a SERP result on Baidu? It was in some other way on the page? Using mozbar, click on page analyses while on Baidu page and open box. When it opens in top right you will see several icons and the second is a white pen. Click or hover over and you will see a dropdown with different colors for highlighting. Click on followed and it will highlight in green all followed links. (assumption is it would be a followed link since it is a serp.) Let us know what you find. Best,

  • Hey Rachel, Sorry your still receiving some reports from your archived campaign. Since this is more of a Help question, I am going to migrate this over to ZenDesk and answer you there. You should receive an email notice when the help ticket is created with a link to the ticket itself. The Q&A forum is usually reserved for SEO questions, not questions about trouble shooting our software. That's what the Help Team's for! :] Thanks, Chiaryn

  • Hi Remco, I think your instinct is correct here. You could set up a campaign for each language subfolder, which would allow you to choose keywords, track rankings, and optimize content for each language individually. This would also create targeted crawls for each language directory.
