Hello! Sam from Moz's Help Team here! So -  after being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. However, there are a lot of factors which can affect our ability to find and index links to your site. It's important to note that we are always adding new data to our index, but it may take some time for us to discover backlinks to your site based on factors like crawlability of the referring pages, quality of the links and the referring pages, and more. If you are not seeing links that you know you have, you may want to make sure that they can be indexed. It is also a good idea to check to see if we've indexed the page on which that link is found. If we haven't indexed the referring page yet, you won't see your link in our index. You can also add links to Link Tracking Lists. Once you add a link to your tracking lists we will add that page to be crawled. As long as it is accessible to our crawler, you should see the link in our index as soon as we can index those pages. Lastly, I have a great guide here with some things to check around why we may not have found your links yet: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/moz-isnt-finding-your-links If you'd like any further information, please feel free to pop us an email over at help@moz.com. We do also have a great guide to Domain Authority just here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority

Hi, No, MOZ does not have any option to disavow links and you should not be worried about disavowing links in Moz. Instead, disavow them from the Google Search Console because Google is the search engine that ranks your site according to proper linking.

Hi, Great question, Link Explorer and the Links tab of Moz Pro Campaigns are both tied to our Link index, which is constantly updating. After being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. When discovered or lost links are found, we'll update our database to reflect those changes in your scores and link counts. We prioritize the links we crawl based on a machine learning algorithm to mimic Google's index. This does not mean that DA and PA will change with every data update, though; it will only change if we find new link data for a respective site. I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly when your DA will update it depends on when we find new equity passing backlinks to your site. You can read more about our new Link Explorer tool and our index here. You can also read more about how our Link index compares with our competitors here https://backlinko.com/best-backlink-checker Feel free to reach out to help@moz.com with any further questions

Hi snjaoieiw, To get a detailed answer from Moz staff on what DA is, you might consider searching the Q&A forum. In short, though, it is a Moz metric (not a Google or Bing metric) that takes into consideration the number (and quality) of backlinks your website has. That said, have you been working on building up high quality backlinks? -Zack

  • Yes, you can certainly shut down your computer. It's running on our servers. Sorry for the confusion!

  • Ah so that would make sense. Anything with a zero next to it can be assumed to be an internal link and can therefore (in the circumstance I am looking at) be discounted. @Mozstaff - Maybe an update to this report to add internal / external filters + various other anchor text filters would be good?

  • I would think that if you are aiming for authoritative websites then the data will be fairly accurate, however, if you were looking at getting links from lower DA/PA sites then I think making comparisons could be slightly more difficult as I suspect these sites may be more likely to attract links from outside of Mozscapes index (The number of sites and pages crawled is not infinite and less popular sites may not be included). If you haven't already it may be worth reading Rand's post on the latest Mozscape update: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/july-mozscape-update  Can you look at the keywords some of these sites are targeting and see how well they rank as another indicator?

  • It looks to me that the site could be recently created. I've had new websites created which took months to be picked up by OSE (although contacting the SEOMoz help team and notify them accelerated the inclusion quite a lot)

  • I believe we had a couple of blips earlier with our crawler. Your best bet for support is to go to http://www.seomoz.org/help and use the red "contact our help team" button -- the help team will get back to you on Monday and help you work out what's going on and find a fix.

  • HI Doug Posted twice on this subject and the other 2 are here http://www.seomoz.org/q/301-redirect-how-long-until-the-juice-passes-through-to-new-site I have checked server logs and response headers and everything looks absolutely correct, not used screaming frog but have used Xeno I have been complaining for now 10 weeks that i have no traffic since i did the 301, and as i said im only reporting on the new site now which n theory should be 301 clean, except the canonical element part I am now convinced there is a issue as otherwise the crawl from SEOmoz would not pick up those redirects,

  • Many thanks for the in-depth response Marcus!! Yes another UK body! Along with my reading I shall definitely take this on board and hopefully reflect it in my work. In regards to the attachment showing the Link Analysis, any ideas why it seems to show nothing?

  • I asked the same question to our SEO company and they came up with this answer: "In regards to your question, Google has explained that using paginated content, i.e. the rel="next" and rel="prev" tags, tells them that the two pages are part of a sequence. Therefore there is no need to have different titles or to noindex page 2. You won't receive any penalty for it." Which makes more sense to me, and this means that the SEOmoz reports are wrong to be flagging this up as a duplicate title?

  • I've never heard of that happening before. If you've had it happen, the best thing to do is contact the help desk at seomoz.org/help. What can happen is that if you're doing a bunch of complex searches, or in  a location with many people on the same IP, Google can throw up the captcha at you and prevent you from searching for a bit. I've had this happen when I was going lengthy queries with several advanced operators, and have seen it often at search conferences.

  • This probably isn't the answer you're looking for, but my response is that if a directory is relevant, industry-specific, reliable, etc, it's probably worth completing a profile there. On the other hand, if it's a general biz directory, looks like it exists for the purpose of SEO, doesn't appear highly for relevant searches, etc, it's probably not worth the time. Grouping sites under the umbrella of "directory" it's pretty vague. After all, http://house.gov/ is just a directory. But it probably isn't what you think of as a directory when you think of internet directories. Will submitting to directories hurt you? In most cases I would say probably not. Unless you're hitting the real bottom of the barrel. It's more of a matter of resource allocation. Hope this helps.

  • Hi Justin, Thanks for your quick reply. Previously, we had our homepage as www.myhomepage.com/index.php and we had done some link building too. Due to some reasons we have changed it again to www.myhomepage.com. Now the problem what I see is that when I pull the OSE report. I get a link with duplication i.e. Even though external backlink website links to my site with www.myhomepage.com in the OSE report it shows as backlinks for both www.myhomepage.com as well as www.myhomepage.com/index.php (sort of duplicated link count only for the home page) Please let me know whether we have any issues with our homepage. Thanks in advance
