First i say thanks, also thanks lot.

But when click the appropriate link, the page has been opened without any issue also with trailing slash.

just check like follow,

www.tuscany-cooking-class.com/es

then select alojamiento link**,**

then select the villa pandolfini link

now page has open with trailing slash at the end.

I have the multiple site with file format url like contact-us.php, search.php, index.html

But now i am going to update my site using any framework such as yii, cakephp,

now i need the best suggestion, i wanted to create the seo friendly site, so what is the best format for ulr,

1. file format such as contact-us.php, index.html, about-us.html  [or]

2. path based url such as contact-us/ , about-my-company/  [or]

3. path based without slash like  contact-us, about-my-company

Please provide me the best solution for above

It might be show the 404 page, but follow this way,

www.tuscany-cooking-class.com/es

then select alojamiento link, then select first property name with villa-pandolfini,

Now you can view the page content, why it behave like this,

We are using joomla with customized.

Anyone help me to fix this issue

Hi Tom,

As said earlier, we have done a 301 redirection to those urls and we don't find any errors as of now. However, concerned about the long term issues. I have provided our website url below please let us know whether we have to keep a tab of anything to avoid the issues.

We have checked our website completely; we had given http://before all the internal links. For now we have thought of redirecting (301) the double urls to the single url for e.x. if we have http://www.example.com/www.example.com/services/  to http://www.example.com/services.

Could you please let me know whether we will have any issues if we use a 301 redirection for this issue.

Note: We have already used many 301 redirections in .htaccess (our website is a rental website with many pages)

Recently, we have changed our website to www.example.com/super-rentals/ (example) and we have done a 301 redirection to the new urls from the old one. We have noticed in Google webmaster tool that urls without trailing slash as 404 error. www.example.com/super-rentals. Please let us know how to fix this issue as soon as possible. Note: Our previous urls are not the urls without trailing slash. It is a different url (www.example.com/super-rentals.htm) we have rewritten in to www.example.com/super-rentals/ only. I would like to know why GWT pulls out the urls without trailing slash and shows in 404 error. Thanks for your time

Thanks for your quick reply.

Previously, we had our homepage as www.myhomepage.com/index.php and we had done some link building too. Due to some reasons we have changed it again to www.myhomepage.com.

Now the problem what I see is that when I pull the OSE report. I get a link with duplication i.e. Even though external backlink website links to my site with www.myhomepage.com in the OSE report it shows as backlinks for both www.myhomepage.com as well as www.myhomepage.com/index.php (sort of duplicated link count only for the home page)

Please let me know whether we have any issues with our homepage.

When I pulled backlinks report for my website from opensite explorer. I see the backlinks listing for my homepage is duplicated with index page. Ex. For a external website my homepage www.website.com as well as www.website.com/index.php shows as backlinks.

Note: I had given rel=canonical tag to my homepage and index.php is 301 redirection to the homepage. I find this error only to my homepage and I don't find this issue to my inner pages.

I would like to know whether this is an issue with opensiteexplorer or a problem with my homepage url.

Your answers are appreciated.
