Hello! Sam from Moz's Help Team here! So -  after being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. However, there are a lot of factors which can affect our ability to find and index links to your site. It's important to note that we are always adding new data to our index, but it may take some time for us to discover backlinks to your site based on factors like crawlability of the referring pages, quality of the links and the referring pages, and more. If you are not seeing links that you know you have, you may want to make sure that they can be indexed. It is also a good idea to check to see if we've indexed the page on which that link is found. If we haven't indexed the referring page yet, you won't see your link in our index. You can also add links to Link Tracking Lists. Once you add a link to your tracking lists we will add that page to be crawled. As long as it is accessible to our crawler, you should see the link in our index as soon as we can index those pages. Lastly, I have a great guide here with some things to check around why we may not have found your links yet: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/moz-isnt-finding-your-links If you'd like any further information, please feel free to pop us an email over at help@moz.com. We do also have a great guide to Domain Authority just here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority

Hi, No, MOZ does not have any option to disavow links and you should not be worried about disavowing links in Moz. Instead, disavow them from the Google Search Console because Google is the search engine that ranks your site according to proper linking.

Hi, Great question, Link Explorer and the Links tab of Moz Pro Campaigns are both tied to our Link index, which is constantly updating. After being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. When discovered or lost links are found, we'll update our database to reflect those changes in your scores and link counts. We prioritize the links we crawl based on a machine learning algorithm to mimic Google's index. This does not mean that DA and PA will change with every data update, though; it will only change if we find new link data for a respective site. I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly when your DA will update it depends on when we find new equity passing backlinks to your site. You can read more about our new Link Explorer tool and our index here. You can also read more about how our Link index compares with our competitors here https://backlinko.com/best-backlink-checker Feel free to reach out to help@moz.com with any further questions

Hi snjaoieiw, To get a detailed answer from Moz staff on what DA is, you might consider searching the Q&A forum. In short, though, it is a Moz metric (not a Google or Bing metric) that takes into consideration the number (and quality) of backlinks your website has. That said, have you been working on building up high quality backlinks? -Zack

  • Thank you Chiaryn If you could open a support ticket that'd be great. Cheers

  • My apologies. I missed your prior reply where you shared the link. I found a link to the page on the site: http://www.articlesezines.com/getting-new-cushions-heres-how-to-measure-your-furniture-properly/ anchor text is "measure your furniture" I used the site's Search box and looked for "measure your furniture" with the quotation marks. Only one result appeared and it has the link to your site.

  • Hello Parvesh, I apologize that your important question didn't receive a speedier response from me. For some reason, our system failed to notify me. So sorry about that. Your question is an excellent one, and one that has come up many times over the years since the dawn of Local. Basically, there is no keyword tool from which you can get reliable geo data. Even if you are in a major metro city (like New York City) and tools show you some data reflecting use of your city name in searches, that data is not really reliable. Because of this, I (and just about every other Local SEO I know) follow this method in performing research. Brainstorm your core terms and plug them into your keyword tool of choice, without any geo terms. So, for you, that might be terms like hair salon, spa, salon, makeovers or whatever it is that your business offers. Open a spreadsheet and document the findings of your keyword research, based on what data you've been given about your brainstormed terms as well as any others that the tool shows you that you may not have thought of on your own. Very often, people search for things in surprising ways you might not have previously considered. Now, go back and add in your geo terms. These would include city names, county names, regional names, state names, neighborhood names and postal codes. For every service/product term, you now have geo terms with which to pair it. So, if you've got a hair salon in Bathurst, one section of your spreadsheet might be: haircuts bathurst haircuts bathurst, NSW haircuts in bathrust cheapest haircuts in bathurst best haircuts in bathurst haircuts postal code etc. So, essentially, do your KW research without geo terms and then add them back in, based on your locale. As of this moment, there is no accepted better method. Good luck! Miriam

  • My UK rankings are also all over the place.  I cannot use SEOmoz reports for clients at the moment, it is very annoying.  I had this problem a few months ago and then it was resolved, but the last two months reports have been incorrect for quite a few keywords.

  • Hey Thomas, Unfortunately, the issue is that the crawl tests are actually completing but we aren't able to access the reports at this time. Our engineers are working to fix the issue as soon as possible, but I'm afraid we don't have an ETA for when these reports will become available. I'm really sorry about that! I have sent the information for your crawl tests to our engineers so they can look into your account specifically and I am going to create a support ticket for the issue so that I can update you once we have a resolution for this issue. You will receive an email when the ticket is created and you should be able to access the ticket through a link in the email. So sorry for the inconvenience! -Chiaryn

  • Marty, thanks for mentioning Screaming Frog. I actually love it. I usually have it running pretty much every day, doing something or the other. It however does not give an easy way to identify the outgoing links for the website I am crawling. Is there a specific setting I am unaware of ?

  • Roger only crawls by links. When you are using forum software or a CMS it is very common for numerous links to be created by the software without your knowledge. If you examine your crawl reports, they will show you the URL of the page which provides the link which is generating the 404 error.

  • Hi Dan, I'd need to know the URLs to give a definitive answer, but I'll take a stab at it now. In Open Site Explorer the Facebook and twitter metrics are specific to the URL. For an example, if you run www.seomoz.org through Open Site Explorer it says we have a paltry 135 Facebook likes.  But, we have 44,163 Facebook likes for our Facebook page. I hope that helps clear that up. Let me know if you need anything else. Cheers, Joel.

  • Hi Jason, What you can do is set a Disallow directive for that particular subdomain with the user agent RogerBot. That should prevent that subdomain from being crawled in your reports. Cheers, Joel.

  • Kind of answered my own question to a point The encoding of a = sign converts to %3D (no idea why SEOMOZ is picking this up on its crawl, the 301 is being done by my htaccess because its an upper case D the 301 it 301's  the upper case to lower case then to a 404 page which is not good, i have fixed this but still wonder why SEOMOZ is seeing the %3D instead of an = sign
