This is a very typical question that has been answered many times. Go with subfolders. Unless for some security reasons, it's better to go with subfolders.

RE: Mass 301 redirect from a sub-domain - using Joomla or htaccess
Yes, this is the way I do it: Listing the URL's in .htaccess. You should be fine like that.
Here is an example:
Redirect 301 /oldpage.html http://www.domain.com/newpage.html
Notice that the domain is not in the 1st part http://www.domain.com/oldpage.html

RE: Diluting your authority - adding pages diluting rankings of other pages?
I wouldn't worry about it. Add the 400 pages and make sure it has good content on it. Don't submit thin content. If you don't add those 400 new product pages, then you will miss out on new opportunities. Make sure you are NOT just copying the description from the manufacturer for duplicate content reasons.

RE: Multi country targeting for listing site, ccTLD, sub domain or .com/folder?
I would pick subfolders. Here's why. IN GWT you can set country targeting for specific folders.
This video, by Susan Moskwa, is VALUABLE for any international SEO: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/62399?hl=en
At 4 min 22 secs she talks about using sub folders to geo target in GWT. It's a must watch for anyone who is thinking about international SEO.

RE: What language to use for URL's for Russian language?
Listen to Matt Cutts awesome answer here LOL!!!: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suTDT6-Q8NE
I think your special characters may depend on the search engine. Go to Russia's search engine and find out if your URLs display better there: http://www.yandex.com/
I believe Yandex is more popular there than Google is.

RE: Tool like Followerwonk for Facebook?
Good question. I don't know of any tools that are like Followerwonk but for Facebook. Even if there was a tool for what you are looking for, I don't think it would be effective because it's not like you can message the fans of the page.
If you are looking for tools to help your FB marketing, look at this post:

RE: ECommerce & Reviews when generated by 3rd Party uses Javascript
@Dinesh, I had been reading this thread and decided to get Shopper Approved for my clients. I talked to Brendan and he told me all about Shopper Approved. I was comparing ResellerRatings.com, TRUSTPILOT.com, ReviewCentre.co.uk, and Local.viewpoint.com.
Shipper Approved seems to have the most value. Tell Scott Brandley that you are landing him 2 subscribers. I see there is an affiliate link there. Your affiliate commission % is 25% lifetime of the customer.
PM me and I'll have my clients use your affiliate code. We are probably going to sign up next week.

RE: 301'ing away from an exact match domain.
I recommend to do two things. 1st follow your business objectives. If you really don't have any, then try writing it out. 2nd, and equally as important, optimize for your audience, not for Google. When I hear newbies talk about putting KWs in h1 tags and domains, they are thinking the wrong way. Don't be like me. I wasted time trying to optimize my website so much that it was over-optimized and unreadable.
I stand by my statement, KW in subdomains do not give a boost. If it did, all of us on MOZ would have done that years ago. It would have also created a lot of spam sites.
Do you have any comment on removing the keyword from the homepage content?
I don't know what your GA says. That's your call. If the keyword is not as relevant, then no. All the sites I have ever built had a home page that was about all the landing pages. Go to my site and study it (the shipping one).

RE: Do you only allow one URL (link) per Keyword?
I don't quite understand the question "**They fix 20 on-page links every month. " **Is your site that broken where you have 20 broken links per page?
It sounds like you are a beginner. Please read http://moz.com/beginners-guide-to-seo
There is a section, Chapter 7, in there about link popularity. It should help answer many questions. In fact I recommend to many people that they should print this out and go to a coffee shop.

RE: 301'ing away from an exact match domain.
Sub domains do not give a ranking boost. While I was a subscriber at SEObook, Aaron Wall put it like this:
creditcards.com = boost
creditcards.example.com = crap
cardscredit.com = crap
Don't worry about KW in the domain. If you can't rank any other way than to rely on the KW being in your domain, you don't deserve to rank. If I were your competitor, then all I would need to do is get some real FB URL Likes and a couple okay external links.
If you are going to 301, make sure you have your .htaccess ready to go ahead of time. Also re-submit your old sitemap in GWT 1st so it crawls your site and notices the 301s. Then submit your new sitemap.

RE: Pipe ("|") in my website's title is being replaced with ":" in Google results
In Adwords the | (pipe) is not allowed in ads anymore. Maybe this is the case for organic too. You can use a - (dash) though and you should be good to go.

RE: Tracking Goals In a Moz Campaign
I know this will sound kind of harsh (especially since I'm one of MOZ's authority members), but I feel the GA analytics integration is wack. Currently I use Conductor. If you choose Conductor's Searchlight, you'll need to pony up about $65,000 USD to use it. It's awesome, but expensive!

RE: PPC Landing Page Domain Question
I agree with Moosa!
Stick with only one domain. Do not make any redirects during the checkout. If you do, you can expect your conversion rates to drop. Also if you have any customer service issues, they will more likely do chargebacks to your merchant credit account.

RE: Has anyone dealt with an account being canceled and how to get campaigns back?
You should contact help@moz.com, They can help in technical side. I remember when my credit card expired and I wans't able to log into moz, but I didn't lose all my campaign information.

RE: HELP - Configuration Killing Me, Dying on Google, About To Give Up
I think WP is fine in most cases. I try to use as little plugin as possible. One I do use is Yoast's WP SEO plugin.
I did about 3 site migrations last month from HTML to WP and my rankings were not affected. I 301's from .html to trailing slash URLs and everything was fine.
Alan, honest question here. If WP isn't good, what would you recommend?

RE: HELP - Configuration Killing Me, Dying on Google, About To Give Up
"I decided to streamline my site,"
How do you mean that? Did you use a plug-in or some type of software? If I were to do that (condensing websites into one), I would have gone old school style and do it via mysql DB into the mainsite's DB. Then 301 from one website to the mainsite your are trying to promote. To do this, I would probably hire a programmer to help.
My question is "how" did you streamline?

RE: Custom Google Search & Joomla/Wordpress
I think this is a great approach. Use your web analytics software to record the internal site search for your website. This is easy to set up in GA admin. Adobe Analytics (sitecatalyst/omniture) has this feature too.

RE: Rank Tracker displaying grossly wrong ranking
Clear cache, clear history, log out of Google, depersonalize your search by entering &pws=0 at the end of the Google URL like this:
https://www.google.com/search?q=123&pws=0
If that doesn't work, try using a browser that you normally don't use. For me that browser would be Safari.

RE: Affiliate Links & SEO
Check the source code to see if it's a nofollow. If it is, then there is no need for concern. If it is a follow link, hopefully it's from a reputable website.
I probably wouldn't worry about it too much because all the affiliates are duplicate content and G probably would devalue those pages. Now if you were getting 1000s of links, I would be concerned. But 1st check the source code. All advertorials should have a nofollow. Watch this video o Matt Cutts talking about this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1SmlsfSqmOw

RE: Switching over to wordpress
With 250 URL, you can do this manually in a couple hours. Use a free crawler and download to excel. From there, create the new URLs you want to 301 to and throw them into the .htaccess.
