Facbook ads
David, Because you can only have one ad account on Facebook this is common practice. Giving access to the add account to the client could compromise the ad campaigns that they are running for other clients. The client should be able to see the results of the ads from within their Facebook page under publishing tools. and under insights. However they will not be able to see the cost of each ad. The company should provide the invoices generated by facebook. These can be distributed by client if necessary.

Adwords coupons
Agreed. Also: PPC is often used as a substitute for an overall SEO/Marketing strategy...instead of a component of an overall strategy. It's best to turn down potential clients who think PPC can do it all, IMHO and experience.

Moz Ranking report help
Hi David, There is no direct view of that information in the interface right now, but we're going to work on surfacing that information in a better way in the upcoming months. We'll be adding monthly timeframe before the year's end (if all goes well) and that should give you a 12 month history view of your keyword distribution and for each tracked keyword. We're also working on adding the keyword ranking history CSV to the rankings section so that you can have your history 2 years back. We hope to have that added end of October / early November. Thanks, and please let us know if you have any other questions! Miranda Rensch - Product Manager

Legal issues with trademark?
Depending on how it is done, then yes. The specifics are a bit dependent on where the client is based and where the trademark of the brand is registered. However everywhere has some form of trademark protection and something a passing off law.

Community question- Penguin 2.0 link types?
Hi David, I hope in the little time I have I can acquire enough high-quality information that this will be of use to you. http://moz.com/blog/postpenguin-anchor-text-case-study http://www.searchenginejournal.com/25-ways-to-get-penalized-in-2012/47245/ https://ahrefs.com/digest/ ( Take with more than a grain of salt but hopeful and possible http://www.webmasterworld.com/google/4461573.htm ) http://www.searchenginejournal.com/the-definitive-guide-to-penguin-friendly-seo/57196/ I have some bits of news for you I've collected from trusted sources regarding what is new in what we should be expecting regarding panda 2.0 I will start off with one this is Matt Cutts speaking to gentleman I will link to below "Links Must Be Citations" http://searchenginewatch.com/article/2259674/Penguin-2.0-Forewarning-The-Google-Perspective-on-Links First and foremost, I don't work for Google. This article represents my opinions, but my company has worked on helping large numbers of sites get Google penalties removed. The hardest part of these projects is always to get the client to understand what constitutes a bad link. This starts at the very core of how they think about online marketing and search engine optimization (SEO). There are many who argue that this problem is of Google's own making. They created a world in which abuse wasn't only possible, but that was even very easy to abuse in the beginning. As some would say, they were talking the talk, but not walking the walk. Some people even got mad. They would yell at Google that they couldn't follow their guidelines because it put them in a situation that was like bringing a knife to a gunfight. But, as Greg Boser said on stage at SMX Advanced in 2012, Google is now not just talking the talk, but they are walking the walk as well. Penguin and their various attacks on unnatural links have dramatically reshaped their ability to detect and act on link building practices they consider detrimental to their algorithms. note how they arty link themselves at the bottom _http://www.linkresearchtools.com/case-studies/penguin-2-0-penalty-home24-de/_ Here’s what we will learn Penguin 2.0 hit not such a surprise? Seo industry for seasonal items
Nobody ever knows for sure what their competitors are doing.... so take this comment as a "suspicion" rather than a fact....... I have a site that sells items that are really popular at Christmas. It usually ranks really well from about February through October... then the same few competitors jump above me for the Christmas season then drop several places in the SERPs shortly after New Year. I believe that they buy a big load of temporary links that are displayed starting about September 1 and are taken down at the end of December. This gives them the big boost in the SERPs for Christmas but does not have those links in their profile all year long which could flag them for manipulation. Just sayin' what I think.

Banner Ads help seo?
We use OpenX on our site as a way to track and add banners that are only for our site and not advertising. Is there anyway to get SEO benefits from it or even add SWFObject to the flash ads?

What tactics are working well for seo these days?
"I believe people come to the place they get their answers and tell others" Yep, I second that. It's always pretty satisfying when you pick up the phone for a new enquiry and instead of launching into the old sales routine the person has read something on your blog and is already pretty sure they want to work with you. It's also a damn site easier to promote high quality content articles than it is to promote a brochure of services. I think where people fall down on this approach is when they stick a few blog posts up and then don't get suddenly bombarded with links. It takes time, some articles stick, others, sometimes ones you think are great don't.

Zemanta For link building -Is it Worth the money?
In our case it wasn't worth the money at all. All we received was very poor links from unrelated or 0 authority sites with no traffic. It's risky so you should first ask for a free trial. (if they offer it)

Anyone else get spammed by this?
It was a widespread problem. Here's a help desk post with how to hide your email address. We are not at all related with them, do not condone this, etc. etc. etc. http://seomoz.zendesk.com/entries/20926987-watch-out-for-email-of-interest-to-fellow-mozzer

Do you take Seo and ppc management on competitor sites?
Do what your client requested. First, because you owe him that as a client. Second, because he is right about the analytics (and rather astute it seems), but lastly, and most importantly in my opinion, Because it will ultimately gain you respect with both clients over time. For me, I would hate to lose that business, but I would tell the one who wants the SEO that you have to honor your commitment, but that you also believe there are other good SEO firms. Give him three that you think are good (don't give one as that could be a bit of a rub with your client) and let him speak with them. Or give him some good rule of thumb on how to find a good firm. You will ultimately benefit.

Do you use your own Blog networks?
Boy you have to be careful with that approach. I've seen it done successfully but the amount of work it takes to do it right is outrageous. I do keep a list of link building contacts around to do the same sort of thing. If you can build a solid relationship with blog owners, many will eventually just give you the wordpress login and let you publish on your own. If you deliver really solid content as guest posts, a see bloggers open up to more guest posts often. At this point, I'm pretty confident I could get a hundred or so links up no problem using these contacts. I guess this is how I make the same sort of approach white-hat. In the end, if you're constructing a link network for your own clients, it's far too easy to make a mistake. Maybe too many of the same sites are on the same host, or even use the same Adwords login. Google can pretty easily tell if the same person has involvement in a large number of sites linking to one site. If they catch on, you're pretty likely to get a penalty. Mike
