Can free article sites damage my reputation
Can free article sites damage my reputation In my opinion they are mainly a waste of time. I want to know if this is going to spoil my reputation If they have you sounding like an idiot on the web.. .then yes. i would like to know why people use these programmes when they do not even make sense. They think that they convert your article into their money.

Redirection help to retrieve broken links
Now i have worked out how to do this, can anyone let me know if this would be wasting my time. I am correct that it is good for seo to find all my lost pages that are generating good links and putting the content back on my site to gain that link juice.

Have I Set my joomla site map correctly as google not picking up articles
Seems to me you might be spending some time doing this: I think what you want to do is: Discover all the old urls that were bringing traffic 301 redirect them to the relevant new urls on the updated site using htaccess (assuming you're on apache) [optional: submit a sitemap to google with the old urls to encourage the crawler to see that they're now redirected] [if not doing step 3, might be worth doing this as the first step] create a sitemap for the new site (I have trouble with xmap so I don't use it, would love to though since it automates things - I know many people like it) try manually creating one with say xenu or integrity submit the new sitemap to bing and google sit back fingers crossed keep tracking 404 errors in gwt to identify urls you've missed that can be added to the 301 list there are posts on seomoz and elsewhere that cover how to do 301 redirects in htaccess, how to use xenu etc. good luck! -- EDIT: One other thing to remember, (particularly if you've suffered data loss in the past) is backup - search for akeeba backup for joomla, it's free and works brilliantly.

What keywords should i be using to promote my site
Along the lines of what Alan is saying, I think your site is a prime candidate to take advantage of many juicy long-tail keywords. I understand that you'd like to drive traffic to your home page, but keep in mind that the more likely scenario is you'll draw traffic through your articles which are easier to optimize than a frequently changing home page. This is a good thing, though, because people who enjoy your articles will click the home banner and read other articles from your home page. I've become a fan of many blogs this way. So how do you get more traffic to your site? Make sure you incorporate keywords into every article you write, especially in the titles. For instance, with the Michael Le Vell article, you can search for relevant keywords by simply using Google Autocomplete (see attached image). This will show you what people are frequently searching for related to Michael Le Vell. In this case, it's good that you included the word "arrested" in your Michael Le Vell article title, but it would be better for SEO purposes if the phrase was together. An alternate title might be "Michael Le Vell Arrested: On Coronation Street AND In Real Life!" There are a lot of related Coronation Street keywords you could use that can be found through the Google Keyword Tool. My advice: leverage the strength of your site to draw traffic to the entertaining articles and your readers will naturally go to your home page when they want to read more. I hope that helps! michael-le-vell.jpg

How to promote an article
Might be worth putting your article on MyBlogGuest.com. The quality of the websites on MyBlogGuest are pretty poor, but it still might be worth your time depending on how much time and money you invested into the article.

Linking within a website advice please
I am not sure what you are asking, but let me try ... Let's take your home page and the "target page." I would not use the page you specified above as that doesn't have the targeted content. Instead I would use http://www.in2town.co.uk/news/soap-gossip which could be developed as an excellent landing page for the terms you identified. On your home page, you might have a line that reads: Want the latest news about your favorite stars; check out our posts on <start link="">celebrity news <end link="">and soap gossip.</end></start> Elsewhere on your site I would link to the target page with similar content and links, only you might use 'soap gossip' as the anchor text. Some SEOs believe that the content around the link has 'juice" as well ... so you don't necessarily have to use the trageted terms as anchor text. Does that help?

Using Anchor Text to help with search engines
May I ask the reasoning you do not want the term displayed on your site? Some questions: Can it be displayed on another page on your site and then use anchor text? Can it be used in your page title? The title would not be visible on your site. Can it be used in ALT text? Can it not be used by you are the page's author, but then perhaps by users in comments or testimonials? I understand there are situations where a site owner does not want to refer to their product or service by a specific term which may have a negative view. For example an "Assisted living center" may not wish to be referred to as an "nursing home". The site owner may not like the negative view some seniors have towards the term. In those cases a site owner can offer a page on "Assisted Living" and use testimonials to help associate the page with the preferred keywords. "I never wanted to live in a nursing home. ABC Communities lives up to it's reputation as an Assisted Living Center by helping me with the things I require assistance with, and otherwise letting me live my life freely". User generated comments can also be used in this regard. If the sole reference to the term is anchor text from an external site, then as Alan suggests your page may be deemed relevant to the term but it is unlikely you will rank well for it if the term is at all competitive. I checked and the first page of results already has the site hypnoband.com listed a couple times, multiple listings from YouTube, other sites with hypnoband in the name, etc. You wont be realistically able to make the 1st page of results without using the term on your site.

Grading issues on my weekly report
Hi Diane, A few possibilities here. 1. Small changes can have a big impact. Even changing a single paragraph can cause your grade to go from an A to an F, or vice versa. Fortunately, the complete report will tell you exactly how it scored your page. If you drill down into the report, it will even tell you what areas you need to fix. You can see the full drill down by clicking on the keyword in the report overview. Here's a screenshot. 2. Check to make sure it's the same URL that is ranking. The On page report generates a report for the URL that is ranking for the current week, which can change from time to time. If a different URL is ranking this week from last, then the On-page grader will grade the new URL, which might have a completely different grade. 3. Unfortunately, without knowing the URL or keyword it's hard to tell you exactly what's going on. Feel free to ask a private question, or ping the help team if you want further help and you are not comfortable sharing this information in public. Good luck!

Is blogger could for building links
To be completely honest, I'd focus on the content on your site before building links to your site. I looked at a page about virtual gastric bands and the content did not appear natural or written for the user. The page I reviewed was quite long with the same phrases repeated over and over. It doesn't matter how many links you have to a site or how many visitors you get if the visitor gets to your site and leaves right away because the content just doesn't meet their needs. Focus your time and energy on just one main site for your practice, and make that site the best it can be. I fear you may be losing focus and trying to do too much, and letting some things slide (such as looking at the links page, you link out to sites that are hacked or no longer in existence or are under development; I don't know if they are all your sites, but I know at least some are).

Linkedin how to use it to promote your business
So a basic LinkedIn account is free. A paid account can do things like promote job openings, filled out more in a company page profile, see certain contact info, and see who's visiting your personal profile. But most people are just happy with the basic. Here are so reasons why people have LinkedIn / ways people use LinkedIn: You have a whole bunch of business contacts that want to connect on social media, but you want your Facebook only for family/friends. As a business owner, you want to advertise for jobs on another network. You're a B2B business. You want to be seen as an expert in your business field. LinkedIn has lots of groups and q&a which help build that type of reputation. Even if you're not B2B, you target people in a certain business field. You want to promote your company's growth business wise to a professional environment on a page. Of course, there are many more reasons. Hope this helps!
