the main priority of the site is user experience and the advertising comes second. i am not experienced in advertising and this is why i am asking for advice as i am not sure how to layout the page or where to put adverts for google adsense. can you explain more about the right side bar and why it would add value to the user experience please. could you also show me an example of a good page layout for adsense adverts so i can get this right please.

Google + is great for increasing brand awareness and increasing traffic,  but you will need to  build up your network circles and update the page with fresh and regular content posts. Set up a google page for business embed  a + 1 button on your website for people to provide your site content, article video etc. with a  citation  the more you get the better Google registers these as how popular your content / brand is which  has an impact on your SEO.. is there a tool that will allow you to enter all the ping sites that are availabe and then enter the details like pingomatic and enter the url that you want to ping which will then ping all the ping site that you want.

Just checking that you have approval from the radio programme to redistribute this audio to YouTube. They are known to take down material that infringes copyright, would hate to see you spend a lot of time only to have it taken down.

No problem, my advice further to this is also to try and get your site included into Google news as this is going to be one of your best traffic sources for local news.

I have looked at Firstserv but there are no prices. 1 and 1 has been recommended to me Keri, but the trouble with 1 & 1 is, a lot of joomla people do not seem to like them although the tech guy does, but when i researched them, they got a lot of negative feedback. On a cost point of view there dedicated servers are a good price but because i am not technical when it comes to sorting out databases it would cost me more in the long run. I have also looked at 123 reg, Tsohost, go daddy, and united offer less memory etc for much more than i am paying at the moment. The sites have been put there for the time being so they can be worked on in the near future, none of the sites will be similar, they are just there at the moment, waiting to be worked on. I am seriously thinking because i cannot find a suitable hosting company to spend a few thousand pounds on having my own server at our office and then employ someone so many hours a week as this seems the better option.

I am reading this and tried it but i must be missing something If your object is in a folder within your bucket, then the folder must also be included in the URL. For example, if image.jpg was located in your bucket's Images folder, then the URL would be: http://d604721fxaaqy9.cloudfront.net/images/image.jpg. i have my domain name d22wnjaygrh83y.cloudfront.net and then my image is jenniferanistonlarge.jpg so i put it together like it says which is d22wnjaygrh83y.cloudfront.net/jenniferanistonlarge.jpg   but nothing comes up if i double click on an image that i was looking at only a few minutes ago in my bucket, i get this <error>AccessDenied<message>Access Denied</message><requestid>311AC6250EC638CC</requestid><hostid>J0dwp7GCiRcxFd1nrQg6fXnCQxt8/6PgrlGEgXpeBaBFXDm7I8f3bYwd6D0Ciifu</hostid></error> not sure why because i have loaded the image to my bucket and i doubled clicked it a few minutes ago and it shown it but now brings the above message up.

what i was looking at, was for our readers to be able to read local news while on our site, i think i will give it a miss then.

Could be a few things. 1. The scoring is different between the two tools. I looked and couldn't find any specifics on their API's, but they could place weight on different factors. In the second tool, it looks like the first tab is from Google's page speed tool since the second is Yahoo's. The scores between the two were different. 2. The location where the test is done can impact speed. The closer the testing server is to the server that the website is hosted on, the faster the load time will be. 3. Could be a difference in caching? If your site has flushed its cache, the load time can be slower while the server re-caches things, then it will be faster later. This usually isn't the case, but I've seen it happen. As for your second question, I'm not sure of a definite way. If your caching is working properly, it should just happen... Hope that helps.

the hosting company is in the US, it is important for me to make the site load fast, the last thing i want to do is for the readers to get fed up of slowly loaded pages. I have to get the site up to scratch so i can start making money from it which it is not doing at the moment. google analaystics, says under site speed 0.00 so i am a bit confused by this
