hi james. I use digg a lot and cannot understand why after using digg for a few years now that no links are showing in the report. I also do press releases but i think i need to look at better press release sites

Diane, That was a nice bit of assistance from Ennovation so I thumbed it up. One note here is that for some reason, someone has made all of this too difficult for you with your CMS. We use Joomla, our clients do not have these problems. (We have one client with 6 Joomla sites who can hardly turn on his computer) Somehow you are having to deal with code when you should not be. Even if today you decided to put in a new logo image, change page titles, create new meta descriptions and change content, you should be able to do that without the need for the developer. As it is, you are on Joomla 1.5 when 1.7 is out. You are using a program that cleans up urls when 1.6 took care of any issues. You are a publisher and you should be worried about publishing. Even in my firm, my people stay after me to do what I do - no, not SEO which is what got me here - clients and strategy which is what builds a company. I only do SEO about half as much as I did even a year ago. Publishers publish. Talk with your developer and find out why you are having so many issues. If you cannot get it worked out in a few days (yes, I am serious), find a different developer. There are a lot of good developers on SEOmoz that actually reside in the U.K. (remember they do talk a bit funny). Read the ones that sound great and PM them. hi keith, i have changed this page here http://www.cheapflightsgatwick.com/news/leeds-airport/leeds-airport-celebrity-cheap-flights-airline-new-route i have moved a google adsense to the left of the content and it looks better but not put any on the top bar because after reading what was suggested on here. i found that people are complaining about having adsense at the top of the page. do the links count as part of the three ads allowed on the page or is this seperate and also would it be worthwhile having a google search on my site

chris just been reading your info on the link your provided. can you tell me more as what i do not understand is, do you post all the content from a page. so if i had a page on my site about losing weight with smoothies, would i post the whole article or just part of it and then have a link back to my site for people to read the rest of it.

Totally agree!!! Well said! Especially with the move to the "social web" it is more important than ever before to create reasons to visit a website. Create something truly useful and unique that makes people want to come and tell there friends about it. Saying that this is hard these days but still do-able. Ask yourself: Why should people visit my site? What's in it for them? Why am I different?

You can try SEMrush to get possible competitors keywords, although I hear you shouldn't trust the data 100% but it could give you some ideas. You can also run the domain through Google AdWords tool and see what words it suggests. -Dan PS - Look at their meta keywords tag. The tag does nothing, but most people don't realize that and put their keywords in there anyway.

I have left a space between the logo and the main page, would this be a good place to write an introduction, maybe a paragraph to the site and maybe write a paragraph there or each section so when you go to a different menu section on the site, have the info there. or should i have it somewhere else on the site. at the moment i have no introduction on the site for the search engines to understand what the site is about

You have to find the right balance for your site and what works for both users and rankings. When thinking about text for your website header to explain who you are, you'll want to think of it as a short blurb. I wouldn't write more than 150 words and be very precise in what you want to rank and tell your users. Less text means less of a big block and might ease a lot of your aesthetic concerns. As Mark Twain said, if I had more time I would have written a shorter letter.

Don't forget Google only allows three ads per page. It looks as if you may have more than that.

Can I just make a generic comment. Webmasters 'can't understand" it when a site goes from from, say 1st to 5th and consider that something must be wrong. Yet are not surprised when a site goes from 5th to 1st. I don't get it!

Given that graph, Google is certainly visiting your site. It's just not always accurate when judging when something was published. We've published posts on SEOmoz, five minutes later I look in the SERPs, and Google says "nine hours ago".

Does not take from your site. This type of feed, to some degree was presumed to bring freshness or keep a site current. Most are in sidebars and I think are likely devalued or irrelevant. (See Alan's comment - there is a reason he does it that way.) If you want to add something to your site for your visitors and you believe it is relevant to them, do it. Set it where it always opens to a new tab or page so that if they close the feed page they landed on before returning, your page is still on their screen. As to looking at a site to try to understand it, I can't. I see sites everyday that i have to believe have a purpose...I will never know what it is. Best

There is a field in the Dashboard of Word Press where you can place the URLs of services you want to ping and it will automatically do so when you update. However, if you would like to do so manually and hit a list of different services, try Ping-o-Matic.
