  • Few rules about sitemaps; You should only include in them pages you also want crawled and indexed They should not contain URLs with 404s or blocked by robots.txt My guess is there are too many URLs in the sitemaps, since I'd guess the website is not over 2 million actual "real" pages, Also, I randomly clicked on a URL in one of the sitemaps and it 404'd; http://www.eumom.ie/forums/topic/oakhill-school-leopardstown-/ This is probably causing a lot of the errors you see. It's honestly not a 5 minute fix - but if it were my site, I would be using the Yoast SEO plugin and using the sitemap feature within Yoast. It makes it very easy to include / exclude certain pages and updated automatically etc. I think there must be a way to tell your plugin what to include / exclude from the sitemap but I don't have as much experience with it. But generally - only include pages you want crawled and indexed. Don't include pages that 404.

  • Fetch as Google is a good tool to use to index pages that have recently changed, or in certain special circumstances, but it's not intended to be the primary way to get your site in Google's index. A foundation of good content, proper site architecture, and a healthy dose of external links is the best course to proper indexation.

  • Thomas, I did not get something from him but got something from BaseCamp along the lines we spoke of earlier. As to Mr. Fried's comment, " ...if you would contemplate writing off the expenses for his business as this would be something he is doing for charity." Translated that is, "Why don't you guys pay us to provide it to them and write it off yourselves?" Frankly, If he will take on the CodeCamps and other STEM activities we do, I will do just that. So, I will handle this charity for him. All he has to agree to is taking on all that we do for charity. Now, where before I could take, "No," I today say why not take BaseCamp and place it .... I actually find that to be rude. His justification for not offering something to them is to act as if we are asking and we do not do things for various charitable causes. What an ass. Best

  • Hey Pascal, I took a look at your account and I don't see any messaging that notes you have hit your account limits. If you are still seeing the messaging on your account, can you please send us a screenshot to help@moz.com so we can investigate the issue further? Thanks! Chiaryn

  • I was thinking about your first opinion, however on that way, only home pages of the three regional versions will receive link juice from blog posts, and other pages won't I'm not sure if the link juice accumulated to the home page will be well passed to other pages on this way.

  • Hello Keri. Thank you so much for your reply. I thought I may have been asking too early in the day as I am in New York. Thanks so much your reply and just as you said the index had rolled out later that day and I habe seen the increases I expected. Looking forward to the next update.

  • Here is what we received from MOZ... Hey everyone, We're having an issue with the Mozscape API right now, which feeds data to the keyword difficulty tool. We'll be keeping Twitter and health.moz.com updated. Thanks for your patience, and sorry about this!

  • Also make sure that no one in WMT has checked the box to remove the site from Google's index. Doing so will usually result in a warning, so it's unlikely you wouldn't have seen it. The only thing you mentioned that I'd look into more would be the hosting change, but that impact should have been more or less immediate. Are you receiving any organic traffic from Google? A huge drop could mean a lot of things, but 0 traffic usually means a technical issue is to blame. If you've just lost most of your traffic, it's possible that it's a penalty or algorithm adjustment of some sort. There are a few directory links that I'd be concerned about, and I'd disavow any questionable sites with sitewide links (I saw at least one). It could also be a Panda or a "Payday" adjustment. Check the algorithm history and see if it aligns with your drop in traffic: http://moz.com/google-algorithm-change

  • This is an topic that Google is very familiar with. Matt Cutts did a video specifically about Ecommerce websites and multiple breadcrumb paths for the same product. That video is here: http://www.seroundtable.com/google-breadcrumbs-seo-18285.html

  • Hello, if you search the page URL (exact) in Google at the end of the Google search URL type "&as_qdr=y15" This can also be used with the inurl command on searches for a whole domain,  whilst not 100% its a start it also sometimes shows last cached version (don't forget there is a date filter on searches!) I also wanted to give a shout out to the wayback machine http://archive.org/web/web.php hope ti helps & good luck!

  • If you have the time I would highly suggest training your own writers to work as contractors.  It took me about 8 hours to train two writers, who are free to right for anyone they choose, and I get optimized content for .05 a word.  It also gives me the chance to actually sit down with them to discuss improvements. I use two ex journalists for mine, but you could easily find someone pursuing a writing degree that would be interested in doing it as a side gig. As for the original question, I wouldn't pay that.

  • Hi there, Thanks for reaching out! Once uploaded, validated, and purchased, we publish your listing data to all of our partners for processing—which takes anywhere from a couple of minutes eight weeks. The only time we won't push a listing through to one of our partners is if you have a paid account with them already. Otherwise, we update any existing listing that you have with them. We won't create any duplicate listings, so you'll be safe there. If we do find a potential duplicate, we list them out and direct you on where you need to go to fix them. Outside of that, you're welcome to use you Check Listing feature ( http://moz.com/local/search ) to see what areas could be improved for listings outside of our partnership network. Hope this helps and have a great day!
