About new google update (Pigeon)
Good afternoon! Given the recent release of this update, it's probably early days to be giving advice on how to overcome it, beyond the guess that as Pigeon appears to be favoring directories more on some queries, it's extremely important to have a strong presence on whichever directories Google is surfacing for your core keyword phrases. From what I can see, the dust hasn't yet settled on this update. Check out Linda Buquet's day-to-day documentation of results for a specific query (the results show numerous changes): http://localsearchforum.catalystemarketing.com/google-local-important/20630-major-google-local-algo-update-google-pigeon.html The one line I keep coming back to in this update is from Barry Schwartz' article (http://searchengineland.com/google-makes-significant-changes-local-search-ranking-algorithm-197778) Google told us that the new local search algorithm ties deeper into their web search capabilities, including the hundreds of ranking signals they use in web search along with search features such as Knowledge Graph, spelling correction, synonyms and more. I am still trying to consider what 'web search capabilities' might mean, in the larger picture of things and what this says about the organic influence on local SERPs, but because examples seem so varied, I just haven't drawn a conclusion on this. A small business website is unlikely to 'out-organic' a big directory like Yelp, so where does this leave SMBs? Right now, I have more questions than answers. I hope the community will continue to discuss!

Why does old "Free" site ranks better than new "Optimized" site?
Hi Kingof5 - I know, it is bizarre. We inherited the new site and are now tasked with the challenge of cleaning everything up. I don't know the background on why redirects weren't put in place but that's what I'm working toward now. Wish me luck.

Style Attribute of Anchor Text
You can hyperlink the artwork itself back to the source site. Again, if you're linking just for SEO purposes, and you're trying to hide links from the search engines, it's not the best course of action, and goes against multiple search engine guidelines.

How do you connect to a Google analytics campaign if the particular campaign isn't showing up in the campaign settings?
Do you have other campaigns using CloudBurst? If so all authorizations will appear in the drop down as Google only sees the account as a whole and not the campaigns separately. If you are authorizing the correct account and do not see the connections in the drop down, it will mean there are too many profiles in the account (more than 20) or the account does not have full administrative access. Others have been able to import the connections by moving profiles to other accounts. You may have to reach out to Google to verify you are under the token limit to allow more connections.

1,300,000 404s
Agree with that, one of our sites has 10 million 404 errors as we deal with a lot of changing content over tens of millions of pages. It doesn't look an increase in 404 errors caused any trouble.

Google "pigeon" update, is Google turning search over to all the directories?
Hello Miriam, It is the same. I understand from a local perspective a lot of people are giving this a thumb's up. I am not sure I would at this juncture and we have had a winner or two from it. With Real Estate, if you are a broker, it is a disaster in terms of terms like home(s) for sale, townhomes, real estate or these terms and a geo-locator like Houston. (Dr. Pete spoke to this around my comments on his post The Month Google Shook the SERPS.) You know I am not a "Google done me wrong" person; it's their web property and as EGOL said for a while they did not monetize it and people had a grand ole time. Today, they are going to monetize it just like we would. The issue is more that, IMO, user experience will suffer and I think they will begin to lose market share, but over time. I talk to enough users who are not in our field and they complain about not being able to find someone local when they are looking. For me as a searcher, I find it odd that if I want to find a specific breed of dog or a specific area for a home, etc. I am forced to use a "national" directory of some sort. Doesn't this remove the need for the search engine?? Best

Is there a tool to crawl website meta tags to locate any in an incorrect language?
+1 for Screaming Frog, that will give you a great crawl for your site and meta info. Screaming frog complements Moz and other SEO tools. Screaming Frog is a very popular and common industry tool - and for the price it is well worth getting a license.

Twitter and G+ MOZ not tracking
After peeking at your account, it looks like the Campaign settings for that second campaign do not have the Twitter and Google+ data stored. If you can enter those again into the settings, we should be able to track that data. The social data for the first campaign seems to be working well. If you are still having trouble, make sure to let us know by emailing help@Moz.com so we can dig into the issue with you. I hope we can help!
