Hello! Sam from Moz's Help Team here! So -  after being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. However, there are a lot of factors which can affect our ability to find and index links to your site. It's important to note that we are always adding new data to our index, but it may take some time for us to discover backlinks to your site based on factors like crawlability of the referring pages, quality of the links and the referring pages, and more. If you are not seeing links that you know you have, you may want to make sure that they can be indexed. It is also a good idea to check to see if we've indexed the page on which that link is found. If we haven't indexed the referring page yet, you won't see your link in our index. You can also add links to Link Tracking Lists. Once you add a link to your tracking lists we will add that page to be crawled. As long as it is accessible to our crawler, you should see the link in our index as soon as we can index those pages. Lastly, I have a great guide here with some things to check around why we may not have found your links yet: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/moz-isnt-finding-your-links If you'd like any further information, please feel free to pop us an email over at help@moz.com. We do also have a great guide to Domain Authority just here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority

Hi, No, MOZ does not have any option to disavow links and you should not be worried about disavowing links in Moz. Instead, disavow them from the Google Search Console because Google is the search engine that ranks your site according to proper linking.

Hi, Great question, Link Explorer and the Links tab of Moz Pro Campaigns are both tied to our Link index, which is constantly updating. After being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. When discovered or lost links are found, we'll update our database to reflect those changes in your scores and link counts. We prioritize the links we crawl based on a machine learning algorithm to mimic Google's index. This does not mean that DA and PA will change with every data update, though; it will only change if we find new link data for a respective site. I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly when your DA will update it depends on when we find new equity passing backlinks to your site. You can read more about our new Link Explorer tool and our index here. You can also read more about how our Link index compares with our competitors here https://backlinko.com/best-backlink-checker Feel free to reach out to help@moz.com with any further questions

Hi snjaoieiw, To get a detailed answer from Moz staff on what DA is, you might consider searching the Q&A forum. In short, though, it is a Moz metric (not a Google or Bing metric) that takes into consideration the number (and quality) of backlinks your website has. That said, have you been working on building up high quality backlinks? -Zack

  • Hey As a general rule, you should have an optimized page for each keyword your trying to rank for. Its difficult to rank with a page for several different keywords. Just remember you're NOT trying to rank your homepage, your trying to rank the unique landing page for that keyword. Hope that helps, best of luck

  • Hi Julio, I wrote a blog post a while ago on how to optimise your site using Yoast SEO, check it out here. Also another one I wrote was on LSI keyword placement within content, check it out here. If you do solid keyword research, optimise your Wordpress site as per the first post and optimise your content as per the second, you should get great results.

  • Absolutely Michael! That is what this community is all about Yes if you read carefully in the Keyword Difficulty and SERP Analysis tool page, it states... "Enter keywords to see keyword difficulty and Bing search volume." Even though you have the "Google" selected in the drop down. This had me very confused for a while until I emailed Moz and they helped me understand better how they are gathering the data. It is limited due to the amount of information Google's API allows Moz to access. Unfortunately we can only blame Google for that! haa haa! Good luck and always keep learning!! Puit0Tc

  • Thank you Paddy It is very hard to get high quality links. For example I am also willing to write for other sites to get source link... but this is also hard to get in.

  • Derrick, "Domain authority" is pretty much a term that Moz coined back around 1995 as an alternative to Google's term "pagerank". Essentially the two describe the same thing and Moz's tools evolved since then as a means to quantify the factors that make up pagerank/authority.  Moz's  tools are a good place to start wrapping your arms around the strength of a competitor's site as compared to yours.

  • As the others have already said, it largely depends on the website and how much work you put into it. If you have a good PR team and are able to generate some buzz around the product/service you offer then there is more chance of you gaining a higher PA and DA. Don't get too hung up on PA and DA though, they aren't the be all and end all of the quality of the website. Good luck!

  • so you're aware the permalink link is a WordPress term for URL or link however it does have its unique abilities to WordPress it is a WordPress URL. http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks Regarding your plug-in settings and doing what it tells you. create your own titles based on information found in Moz SEO by the sea, distilled and many other authoritative places which will actually give you the ability to write your own titles regardless of what your plug-in tells you a must-read is right here http://www.seobythesea.com/2014/12/direct-answers-taken-authority-websites/ care about what tools like deep crawl and screaming frog have to say you can use screaming frog to check if they're the right size. of any title or pretty much anything on the page. Same thing with deep crawl http://www.screamingfrog.co.uk/page-title-meta-description-lengths-by-pixel-width/ I do not think that plug-ins have come that far in all honesty all of them talk about keyword density almost every single one of them. Never take a plug-in's information as more important than what you might read here in the Moz guides http://moz.com/learn/seo or in http://distilled.net/u & http://www.feedthebot.com/ they are suggestions based on what the plug-in can detect about your site. do not get me wrong I think plug-ins are extremely important for the ability to put in titles and canonical's other important elements that must be installed for the site to work properly. But there are very few plug-ins I would listen to describe content is good but is expensive and they are right there is no magic keyword percentage however you can always have too many or too few but it should be written for the end-user. Titles should be created for the end user as well. Think about what would drive you to the site if you were to read it. Never use keywords in the title or URL unless they serve a purpose That benefits the end-user not what people think Google will want. With all that said obviously if you do not put keywords or key phrases that are relevant to what you're speaking about and quality content on your site you will not rank for it. when it comes to creating titles for your site I strongly recommend reading this prior http://moz.com/learn/seo/title-tag for a guide to content excellence check out distilled.net/content-guide/ hope this helps, Tom

  • Algorithm updates last year made exact keyword matching a thing of the past - I have clients for whom I do content marketing as a means of link-building and my advice is always to produce content which makes sense when you read it. If it sounds like a keyword is being forced into a sentence, chances are it will be reviewed negatively. Link-building is one of those nose-to-the-grindstone jobs that requires dedication, focus and the ability to take a bit of criticism. It also requires a lot of outreach and pounding the pavement with authority sources in your market niche. I like content marketing because it covers most of the bases you want to cover without you sounding too "sales-y". For example, instead of focusing on on-site factors such as your keyword targeting and URL (on-site only involves about 30% of ranking weight), perhaps spend some time creating unique content relevant to your market niche that you think potential customers would be interested in reading/watching. Then take that content and market it to authorities in your market - you might have to spend some time developing relationships since webmasters are bombarded with link requests on a regular basis. It will take some patience and time, but the overall affects are worth it. http://moz.com/blog/category/link-building This link has a ton of resources on up-to-date link building practices that will help you get out on the right track. http://moz.com/blog/local-event-marketing http://moz.com/blog/future-of-link-building http://moz.com/blog/anchor-text-rich-links-without-spam-or-manipulation-whiteboard-friday These 3 in particular might be of interest to you. Hope this helps! Rob

  • We experienced a similar thing when we implemented a live chat solution. Our TTTFB increased siginificantly, not only did this impact the serps but also reduced the customers experience due to having to wait longer. See if your live chat solution can provide you with a gzip compressed version that you can also load in asyncronously. This may help give your site a speed boost whilst at the same time maintaining an excellent UX element.

  • You've answered a question I've been searching for today so thanks Bryan. Whilst I fully understand why Google does not allow Moz to access those figures, I cannot see the value in understanding solely Bing stats - I'll end up optimising our website for Bing and it's Google we need stats for. Is the Google Keyword Planner the same as Moz's keyword difficulty tool? What's the difference and benefits? Thanks Jason

  • There's no good reason to measure your content purely by quantity, simply because there's no inherent reason to have 10 pages on a site versus 10 million. The "right" amount of content for any particular website will be entirely driven by your business model, you marketplace, and the actions of your audience. If you're looking for a way to measure the value of each page of content you're producing against your actual revenue and business goals, then to do what you're asking, you need to have a website set up to perfectly track multi-touch attribution across the entire customer lifecycle, and that's a hard task for most business models. For us mortals, GA is the simplest way to get closer to this. By assigning e-commerce revenue or goal values, GA will assign values to pages, allowing you to see the total sum value of that page. The content groups features of GA will allow you to analyze content in bucketed groups as well, rather than page by page. Using GA is limited by the goals you are tracking - if you don't attach a dollar value to a newsletter signup, then GA will never assign more value to a page that generates tons of newsletter signups. Marketing automation/analytics tools like Hubspot, Mixpanel, and Kissmetrics have similar features allowing you to track the value of a piece of content. So, setting up the right analytics environment is the best way to justify your efforts on a per page basis.
