Strange Links in OSE
Nigel, I'm so sorry I didn't catch this question earlier. There is a known bug in Linkscape where it is treating binary files as having links and is messing up the data. Please see this Q&A thread with an explanation from one of the Linkscape engineers. http://www.seomoz.org/q/competitive-edu-research-via-open-site-explorer

What percentage of total backlinks are shown by "Open site explorer" tool?
For one of my sites comparing to google webmaster tools on a page that has been established for over a year webmaster tools lists 30000 links and opensite explorer lists about 3333 links so about 11% though i doubt it will be 11% for all sites as there could be many factors involved in this effect. number of linking domains is about 90% of what it says in webmaster tools. hope this helps

Crawl Diagnostics Summary
In the crawl diagnostics screen of a campaign there are 3 charts (total errors found, total warnings found & total notices found) - I was wondering if it would be possible to get a long term view / data of how this has progressed?

Crawler reporting incorrect URLs, resulting in false errors...
Hey Frank! This definitely sounds like an issue with relative links on the page; if the crawler sees it, he'll follow it, and continue to do so indefinitely, causing a super-long URL with the same sub-page listed over and over in the URL. I actually see this bug a fair amount. I'd recommend you look at your page code, try to find relative link tags, and then fix them on that side of things. If you think it's a bug and nothing in your code, you can always send an email to us at help@seomoz.org - we'll be able to take a look and make sure it's not a bug on our side (make sure to send your PRO email address, the campaign with the issue, the URL with the issue, and any relevant screenshots/examples to help us diagnose). In my experience, though, this is always because of a relative link I find in the source. If you need help with how to fix that, you may want to start another thread here in the Q&A and post your page's source or URL. Hope this helps!

Why is my domain not being indexed by OSE?
We sure do... What's up with that? I know the web is all about equality but in this particular case, the paying customer should have preferential treatment.

Hello I am new to SEO. Does SEOMoz have a to do list or can you send me one.
I will definitively read this. Thanks

Can someone explain why I have been seeing an increase in the number of Linking Page URLs in OSE that link directly to downloads?
This is a known bug in the software. This response from a Linkscape engineer can help explain what's going on. http://www.seomoz.org/q/how-are-our-competitors-getting-these-inbound-linking-domains

How do you get Mozbot to crawl your website
Bribes or maybe just dinner and a few drinks Alas, you can't force Roger to crawl your site "**Q. I just fixed a ton of issues. Can I get a new crawl?**SEOmoz crawls your site once per week. The start date is based on the date you first set up your campaign. Unfortunately, there is no way to change this date or force an earlier crawl. However, you can use the SEOmoz Custom Crawl tool to crawl up to 3000 pages of your website. We’ll email you the resulting CSV file within 24 hours."

What is the difference between followed/no followed/ internal/ external links? And how do i improve them?
Followed links : Google finds the link and passes on a "vote" to the website linked to. No-Followed links: Google finds the link but does NOT pass on a "vote" to the website linked to. Internal Links: Links pointing to pages within your website External Links: Links pointing to other websites from within your website. I would advise you spend some time going through the beginners guide on SEOMOZ! GREG

Anyone having issues with OSE?
Hi Anthony, That's a case for the help desk. Please email them at help@seomoz.org and let them know the URL you're getting that on and what browser you're using. I haven't seen a rash of complaints coming in here or on Twitter the last few hours, so I think it may be an isolated issue. Thanks, and so sorry you're having problems.

To block with robots.txt or canonicalize?
I think the canonical idea is better than blocking the pages all together. Depending on how the site is laid out you may try and make the pages more specific to location being talked about. Maybe adding header tags with the location information as well as adding that info to the page title and meta-description. If it is not too time consuming, I'd try and make those pages more unique especially since you might be getting searches based on a location. Location specific pages may help in that regard.

301ing entire E-Com website - Using TopPages Report as a Guide
As much as we love OSE here, it is not a good bet for doing a complete inventory of your entire current site. I'd probably recommend a desktop crawler, like Xenu or Screaming Frog. See my comparison post here: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/crawler-faceoff-xenu-vs-screaming-frog I've got to believe that there's some logic that could connect the old and new URLs, though, even if it has to go through a database look-up. Creating 15,000 manual redirect rules isn't only going to be a huge pain, it may cause a huge processing bottleneck. I'd really push back on what "can't" means and why it can't be done. Too often, "can't" is code for "don't want to", in my experience.

New To SEOMOZ, 2 Questions...
Hi James, First, you don't need to delete your campaigns. You can archive a campaign that you are not wanting to actively check. If you should wish to make it active again, you will need an empty campaign slot, so can archive something else that you don't need and activate the old campaign again. To Archive, just go to the campaign in question, click the blue Campaign Settings link at the top. Scroll right to the bottom of the page and click the Archive button (next to delete). To make an archived campaign active again, go to Campaigns, choose Archived Campaigns, then click Activate for the campaign you wish to restore. On your other question I think the Social analysis you are referring to is that included in the Open Site Explorer tool. When you are logged into your SEOmoz Pro Account and use Open Site Explorer, you can see social data for your site. There is a button in the Open Site Explorer interface (right below where you type your URL) that allows you to load additional sites for comparison. The information that appears in the Competitive Analysis section of your campaign is drawn from Open Site Explorer, but the tool itself provides much more powerful options for analysis. Check out all of the different Filters and the Advanced Reports section while you are there. Hope that helps, Sha
