Hello! Sam from Moz's Help Team here! So -  after being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. However, there are a lot of factors which can affect our ability to find and index links to your site. It's important to note that we are always adding new data to our index, but it may take some time for us to discover backlinks to your site based on factors like crawlability of the referring pages, quality of the links and the referring pages, and more. If you are not seeing links that you know you have, you may want to make sure that they can be indexed. It is also a good idea to check to see if we've indexed the page on which that link is found. If we haven't indexed the referring page yet, you won't see your link in our index. You can also add links to Link Tracking Lists. Once you add a link to your tracking lists we will add that page to be crawled. As long as it is accessible to our crawler, you should see the link in our index as soon as we can index those pages. Lastly, I have a great guide here with some things to check around why we may not have found your links yet: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/moz-isnt-finding-your-links If you'd like any further information, please feel free to pop us an email over at help@moz.com. We do also have a great guide to Domain Authority just here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority

Hi, No, MOZ does not have any option to disavow links and you should not be worried about disavowing links in Moz. Instead, disavow them from the Google Search Console because Google is the search engine that ranks your site according to proper linking.

Hi, Great question, Link Explorer and the Links tab of Moz Pro Campaigns are both tied to our Link index, which is constantly updating. After being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. When discovered or lost links are found, we'll update our database to reflect those changes in your scores and link counts. We prioritize the links we crawl based on a machine learning algorithm to mimic Google's index. This does not mean that DA and PA will change with every data update, though; it will only change if we find new link data for a respective site. I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly when your DA will update it depends on when we find new equity passing backlinks to your site. You can read more about our new Link Explorer tool and our index here. You can also read more about how our Link index compares with our competitors here https://backlinko.com/best-backlink-checker Feel free to reach out to help@moz.com with any further questions

Hi snjaoieiw, To get a detailed answer from Moz staff on what DA is, you might consider searching the Q&A forum. In short, though, it is a Moz metric (not a Google or Bing metric) that takes into consideration the number (and quality) of backlinks your website has. That said, have you been working on building up high quality backlinks? -Zack

  • Hi Kynduvme, I'll take a stab at this, and let others add their comment as well. Branded keywords are generally those of your brand, such as your company name or a product name. For example, my husband and I run a business called Strike Models where we sell model warships that shoot and sink each other. For us, "Strike Models" is a branded search. If I see that in my analytics, I know that someone is searching for me because they have heard of our company. If I see "model ship plans" or "rc battleships", that's not a branded search. I'm appearing for some of my keywords, and the people may not have heard of my particular brand before. It's usually easier to rank for your branded terms, and thus helps separate that out from your other keywords. Does that help? edit: here's the post we made when branded keywords were introduced: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/introducing-branded-keyword-rules-and-metrics

  • Answering my own question - eventually found another tool - it's amazing how many tools just piggyback off SEMoz OSE - and also discovered that I could find the site if I dropped the www. Thanks, Mark

  • Hi there, This is Megan from the SEOmoz help team.  Sorry that your rankings are looking off in your campaign. I'm not sure why you would be getting different results in the campaign rankings than you would be getting when you run the searches yourself; it could be a lot of things. The search engines - Google, Yahoo! & Bing - all maintain multiple indices that run across multiple datacenters. This means if you query different datacenters, you can get somewhat different ranking results. Other elements, such as personalization, geography and search history (even if you're logged out of your Google/search engine account) can also influence ranking positions. Hence, there can be a lot of variation in what different people, searching from different computers/locations might see in the rankings. Our solution has been to run searches from a variety of IP addresses and IP blocks using non-personalized, search history/location agnostic requests. In our experience, these have provided the most accurate results, showing what the "most" users see, though we know there's still quite a bit of room for fluctuation. If you have any other questions or would like us to look specifically at your campaign, feel free to send us a message at help@seomoz.org Cheers, Megan

  • Hi there, This is Megan from the SEOmoz help team.  Sorry for the delay in answering your question!  Local results do appear in the csv export, but unfortunately, they don't show up in the pdf export at this time.    I do think this is a great idea, though, that would be perfect to post on our feature request forum: http://seomoz.zendesk.com/forums/293194-seomoz-pro-feature-requests You can vote for features you'd like to see and suggest your own, both of which help us determine what to build next. Add your request there and hopefully we'll see it come to fruition sometime down the line. Cheers, Megan

  • (ha, who know the endorsement was limited to 3 lines of text?) As I was saying... Every time a parameter is added to the url, such as zoom=1, it technically becomes another URL. Canoncicals for the win Best of luck!

  • Hi Dotline, There might be a glitch in the metrics you're looking at. For whatever reason, I'm seeing your numbers light up across the board in Open Site Explorer for all metrics on the subdomain. Check it out. http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/comparisons?site=www.dotline.com.au%2F Here's what I think happened. Sometimes OSE will drop the "www" from a domain, especially when you click through from the toolbar. Since the "www" is the subdomain, dropping it could return 0's for the subdomain metrics. (does that make sense? technically www.dotline.com and dotline.com are 2 different subdomains. Here's a post by Rand that explains it better: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/understanding-root-domains-subdomains-vs-subfolders-microsites) Regardless, it looks like everything is good now. Let us know if you have any trouble. Best of luck with your SEO!

  • Kane, Pro members have unlimited questions in public Q&A, and one private Q&A question a month. That private question is not indexed and not viewable to anyone other than SEOmoz staff and associates, who are under NDAs. We have a known issue we're working on right now where occasionally people are not able to ask a question. Stephen is right that emailing the help desk is the best way to fix this and get the question credit. Marc, if your question is about the increase in errors on your campaign, that sounds like a help desk question anyway and not one where you need to use a private question credit (though I'd still ask for it in your email to help). The crawler did change how it's detecting some things, so it may just be that the change is the reason you are seeing more errors. Keri

  • Thanks again. Will try to email seomoz Actually i found the answer on the rankings-page help section. I use my competitors domainname without www. Adding the prefix fixed it!

  • Ahhh! Okay thanks Looking forward to the updated page Personally I think that as SEOMoz is all about best practice, it would be super-cool just to pull that line out... it's confusing & misleading! 2 things I don't normally associate with the Moz team! I am currently using the free API, but am considering the paid version... just trying to crunch some numbers and make sure we would get the ROI needed first in terms of saving time with manual checks Cheers Casey Mike.

  • Thanks for jumping in here Doug. It is a known problem, and we've made a post about it in ZenDesk at https://seomoz.zendesk.com/entries/21120163-google-adwords-not-displaying-in-keyword-difficulty where you can look for updates. We do have people working on this over the weekend, I know that much. Keri

  • Good responses all around. Nothing in SEO is guaranteed. Anyone guaranteeing you anything in SEO is lying or trying to sell you something. SEOmoz metrics are a measurement of best practices. You will do well to follow these but getting straight A's will guarantee you nothing. In extremely competitive niches, it is important to max out in all categories including on-page and all off page methods. In such a niche quantity AND quality must work in concert to get any kind of results and EVEN THEN, it is a gamble.

  • Yep! That's why I really like the csv files because you can sort stuff and filter things down to specifically what you want to see.
