Hello! Sam from Moz's Help Team here! So -  after being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. However, there are a lot of factors which can affect our ability to find and index links to your site. It's important to note that we are always adding new data to our index, but it may take some time for us to discover backlinks to your site based on factors like crawlability of the referring pages, quality of the links and the referring pages, and more. If you are not seeing links that you know you have, you may want to make sure that they can be indexed. It is also a good idea to check to see if we've indexed the page on which that link is found. If we haven't indexed the referring page yet, you won't see your link in our index. You can also add links to Link Tracking Lists. Once you add a link to your tracking lists we will add that page to be crawled. As long as it is accessible to our crawler, you should see the link in our index as soon as we can index those pages. Lastly, I have a great guide here with some things to check around why we may not have found your links yet: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/moz-isnt-finding-your-links If you'd like any further information, please feel free to pop us an email over at help@moz.com. We do also have a great guide to Domain Authority just here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority

Hi, No, MOZ does not have any option to disavow links and you should not be worried about disavowing links in Moz. Instead, disavow them from the Google Search Console because Google is the search engine that ranks your site according to proper linking.

Hi, Great question, Link Explorer and the Links tab of Moz Pro Campaigns are both tied to our Link index, which is constantly updating. After being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. When discovered or lost links are found, we'll update our database to reflect those changes in your scores and link counts. We prioritize the links we crawl based on a machine learning algorithm to mimic Google's index. This does not mean that DA and PA will change with every data update, though; it will only change if we find new link data for a respective site. I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly when your DA will update it depends on when we find new equity passing backlinks to your site. You can read more about our new Link Explorer tool and our index here. You can also read more about how our Link index compares with our competitors here https://backlinko.com/best-backlink-checker Feel free to reach out to help@moz.com with any further questions

Hi snjaoieiw, To get a detailed answer from Moz staff on what DA is, you might consider searching the Q&A forum. In short, though, it is a Moz metric (not a Google or Bing metric) that takes into consideration the number (and quality) of backlinks your website has. That said, have you been working on building up high quality backlinks? -Zack

  • The Title Element Too Long is just a warning that your title is likely to be cut-off when displayed in the SERPS. If you've got your website (or company name) at the front of the title then you're going to be pushing your more valuable unique page keywords further to the right. If your title is cut off then you could lose some important words from your title when it is displayed. There's a view that keywords nearer the start of your title are likely to carry more SEO value. Do you need to have your website name in the title? Are people searching for your website + your keywords? Why is it there? What are you selling? Are you selling your website or is the website selling your goods/services? What's more important - promoting the website name or getting visitors to the site? Remember that your page title and meta-description is likely to be the first part of your website that someone is going to see. As well as trying to get your pages to rank as highly as you can in the search results you also need to think about click through. There's no point being #1 if nobody clicks on your SERPS. You need to think about making your Title and Description as relevant, appealing and compelling as possible to the searcher. Think about the search terms and try to match the searchers intent. You want them to feel that they're going to find what they are looking for in you click on your SERP entry. There's some studies that suggest a shorter title tends to be more appealing. Google will highlight the searchers keywords in bold - this helps people gauge how relevant your page is likely to be to their search query. If your valuable keywords are being cut-off they won't get these signals. IF you have a big, reputable brand, then adding this name to your titles is probably a good idea as you'll benefit from the trust in the brand. If you're not a well known brand then I'd put the brand name at the end of the title if anywhere. Hope this helps.

  • SEOmoz is having a known problem right now with Google Analytics connections, and we're so sorry. Can you please send an email to help@seomoz.org and let them know which campaign(s) you're having connection problems with? Thanks!

  • I think there's no way to get a real answer. Think of this. Let's say Microsoft.com wants to rank for Debt Consolidation as a keyword which has a keyword difficulty of let's say 75. Another keyword they want to rank for is Software, which lets say is 95. Considering their domain content niche, the nature and relevancy of the links pointing to Microsoft, which would essentially be related to Software, it would be very easy for that domain to rank for Software then Debt Consolidation even though Debt Consolidation might be a lot easier in terms of keyword difficulty. I would read the keyword difficulty in terms of what kind of keywords you currently rank for, the keywords you want to rank for, search volume and the niche of your website to figure out which keywords you should be targeting. I hope that makes sense.

  • Would you be kind enough to add that to our Feature Request forum on Zendesk at https://seomoz.zendesk.com/forums/293194-seomoz-pro-feature-requests? That way other people can vote on it, and it'll let the developers know people would like this. Thanks!

  • One of the main reasons they stopped looking at them is because it was easy to spam and stuff the tags.  Any site can easily stuff the meta tags, so it's an unreliable ranking factor. A few years back it was beneficial for when directories/info sites would scrape your site.  When they list your site they would use those keywords for categories, and possibly even anchor text.  You don't see it as much anymore, especially since that scraped information is just junk content. The way I see it, it can hurt your site to have the KWs.  Your competitors can easily see what keywords you are going after (which they probably can anyway by looking at a given page).  Giving them one spot to check on every page though will make it much easier for them to benefit from your keyword research. Some people like to use meta tags as product tags on their site.  So if you search for "black cats" on a cat website, anything with the meta tag black cats would come up first.  It also works for when you want to make a black cat page that features every single black cat related item on your site.  Of course, you can just do internal tagging for this, and don't need to use the meta tags. Moral of the story: not much use for them.

  • Well, First I figured the internal links were simply not indexed. This would mean Open Site Explorer would not show info for pages low in your hierarchy. When I checked, it did, so I was initially wrong. However I also noticed a lot of external links from etoyszone.co.uk so I checked that site, only to find myself redirected to your current site. I think this problem will solve itself over time, since I expect that the deeper pages will not be crawled very often. Therefore I would advise to always double check and use crawler software (like Xenu) to map your internal link structure. cheers!

  • Hi Erik, In the campaign setup you have 3 different possibilities: 1. Subdomain (Examples: www.seomoz.org, guides.seomoz.org, pro.seomoz.org) 2. Root Domain - Track at root domain level. Track all the different subdomains within this root domain. 3. Subfolder (Examples: www.seomoz.org/tools, guides.seomoz.org/beginners-guide-to-search-engine-optimization) Now, if you want to track the www. version of you site, go and use the first possibility and track www.yourdomainnamehere.com Hope this was helpful! • Hi Markus, Just like Tom, when I ran the tool myself using the given keyword/URL combination, the page also scored a "B" Here's a screenshot: https://skitch.com/cyrusshepard/8g7qf/on-page-report-card-seomoz-pro The report also show the exact keyword usage in both the page title and text. If you have any problems replicating these results, feel free to contact the help team at help@seomoz.org Best of luck!
