Hello! Sam from Moz's Help Team here! So -  after being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. However, there are a lot of factors which can affect our ability to find and index links to your site. It's important to note that we are always adding new data to our index, but it may take some time for us to discover backlinks to your site based on factors like crawlability of the referring pages, quality of the links and the referring pages, and more. If you are not seeing links that you know you have, you may want to make sure that they can be indexed. It is also a good idea to check to see if we've indexed the page on which that link is found. If we haven't indexed the referring page yet, you won't see your link in our index. You can also add links to Link Tracking Lists. Once you add a link to your tracking lists we will add that page to be crawled. As long as it is accessible to our crawler, you should see the link in our index as soon as we can index those pages. Lastly, I have a great guide here with some things to check around why we may not have found your links yet: https://moz.com/help/link-explorer/link-building/moz-isnt-finding-your-links If you'd like any further information, please feel free to pop us an email over at help@moz.com. We do also have a great guide to Domain Authority just here: https://moz.com/learn/seo/domain-authority

Hi, No, MOZ does not have any option to disavow links and you should not be worried about disavowing links in Moz. Instead, disavow them from the Google Search Console because Google is the search engine that ranks your site according to proper linking.

Hi, Great question, Link Explorer and the Links tab of Moz Pro Campaigns are both tied to our Link index, which is constantly updating. After being found, newly discovered links have the ability to be populated into our index in about 3 days. When discovered or lost links are found, we'll update our database to reflect those changes in your scores and link counts. We prioritize the links we crawl based on a machine learning algorithm to mimic Google's index. This does not mean that DA and PA will change with every data update, though; it will only change if we find new link data for a respective site. I'm sorry I can't tell you exactly when your DA will update it depends on when we find new equity passing backlinks to your site. You can read more about our new Link Explorer tool and our index here. You can also read more about how our Link index compares with our competitors here https://backlinko.com/best-backlink-checker Feel free to reach out to help@moz.com with any further questions

Hi snjaoieiw, To get a detailed answer from Moz staff on what DA is, you might consider searching the Q&A forum. In short, though, it is a Moz metric (not a Google or Bing metric) that takes into consideration the number (and quality) of backlinks your website has. That said, have you been working on building up high quality backlinks? -Zack

  • Hi PhotoGazza, We pull Facebook Shares and Facebook Likes from Facebook's FQL. They define Shares as, "The number of times users have shared the page on Facebook." and Likes as, "The number of times Facebook users have 'Liked' the page, or liked any comments or re-shares of this page." In this context, a page is defined as a URL on the web (ie not a Facebook page). So, I believe that a share is a count of the total number of times that Facebook knows a URL has been shared on Facebook in general (whether through a status update, comment, etc, public and private) but to be perfectly honest, Facebook doesn't make it 100% clear. You can check out their documentation here: http://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/fql/link_stat/ Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks! Miranda

  • The live keyword analysis tool has always been good, but you really shouldn't be worried about keyword density. Just make sure your keywords occur once in the document and spend the rest of your time writing good, relevant content... http://www.live-keyword-analysis.com/

  • Hello, I don't know if you coded your site, but I would suggest a "no javascript" version with regular url varialbes the crawlers can follow. In your site maps you then list "no javascript" urls.

  • Just to add to this.... I'm not sure why you are so concerned with PA and DA metrics. Whilst useful, you should not be getting to obsessed with influencing these metrics. Surely your overall goal should be to outrank your competitors in search engines rather than beating their PA and DA scores? Of course, with a successfully implemented SEO strategy you should find these will naturally improve along with your rankings. Concentrate more on your overall SEO strategy rather than trying to improve just your PA and DA.

  • I've asked squarespace for help and they basically said they wont alter any of the httaccess file for me, asked around in the squarespace community and they started saying that this was SEOmoz's crawlers which are completely different to Google and as long as two url's weren't showing up in Google (which they aren't...just two different PA's on the SEOmoz toolbar)...then to not worry about it.  They said that Google is smart enough to decide between the two and that from now on I should just focus on one URL for link building. Feeling a bit deflated....maybe I shouldn't worry about it though.  Wish squarespace wasn't so limiting on controls TBH. Christine

  • OSE being down was actually not related to the delay in the index. It was related to the severe weather in Virginia that took out some of Amazon's cloud servers (the same reason Instagram, Netflix, Pinterest, Raven Tools, and a bunch of other sites were down last night). We did update our Twitter feed as soon as we were aware of the outage, though I see we didn't update the known issues page (which has a link from the SEOmoz pro dashboard). I'll mention that to the team as we do our evaluation of this downtime. Typically we keep Twitter updated when we're having any type of outage, maintenance, or see anything wonky possibly going on.

  • We've had to delay the update until next week. We've just published a post with the details at https://seomoz.zendesk.com/entries/21655043-mozscape-index-update-temporarily-delayed-until-july-6th.

  • First of all, you can run multiple reports for the same URL using different keywords. You can run as many keyword/url reports as you wish, but they will all return a separate grade. More information on running custom reports: http://www.seomoz.org/help/on-page-reports Obviously, there's a limit to how many keywords you can score an "A" with on the same page. If not, Wikipedia could just build a single page that ranked for every keyword in the world (not really, I'm exaggerating Conceptually, Google treats "Miami SEO" and "SEO Miami" as very close. But there are mulitple ways to optimize the same page for both keywords. Vary the keyword in your URL Variations of the keyword in your h1, h2, h3 headers Variations of the keyword in your body text Variations of partial match anchor text in links pointing to the page Links from external websites that themselves are about "miami seo" etc. Instead of creating a page for every possible variation (which the Panda algorythm was designed to target and punish) try creating in-depth content that explores "Miami SEO" completely. You'll rank better for long tail terms, and improve your relevance for the short tail terms as well. As far as high importance factors, there has traditionally been a strong correlation between the keyword position at the front of the title tag and higher rankings. This correlation isn't as strong today, but still exist. http://www.seomoz.org/learn-seo/title-tag Hope this helps. Best of luck with your SEO!

  • Insite- Sucks but that is the limitation. You can post your request to increase this to more words at this link.... https://seomoz.zendesk.com/forums/293194-seomoz-pro-feature-requests Not sure if you knwo this, but seomoz just raised some vc money. Now that rand raised some big dough I have to believe that they are working on a bunch of revisions to the tools.  SEOMOZ is already worth every penny, so anything they add will be gravy.....good luck.... • Hey Julian It is frustrating if your competitors are buying links and you are trying to earn them but Google's current focus is on removing the value and in some cases penalizing those sites that take things to far. With regards to on-page optimisation, your homepage seems fine for the NLP phrase but your title tag could be made a little more natural to win more clicks and maybe a little more descriptive. Currently you have: NLP in Köln | München | Frankfurt | Berlin | Hamburg | NLP Well, maybe I would lose the NLP from the end straight away and possibly go for something a little more natural like NLP - Neuro-linguistic programming | nlp-deutschland.de Get your brand on there and don't spam those city names into the page title as the homepage is probably trying to do too much. If you want to advertise NLP at these locations, then have individual pages for each location going after those individual terms far more effectively. For example, the page for Köln could be titled: NLP Köln - Neuro-Linguistic Programming | nlp-deutschland.de Someone then searching for 'NLP Köln' would then have a very specific and accurate landing page that was inline with their exact search query and you would start to have a broader keyword strategy than just laser concentrating on 'NLP'. So, some advice, quickly summed up. 1. Stop thinking about search engines, think about people and how they are searching and what they would be more likely to click on. 2. Target a wider range of keywords so you are not reliant on just one main and very general term (NLP). 3. Create new pages and optimise them for your keywords and test the optimisation with the keyword optimiser tool if this is not a strong area: http://pro.seomoz.org/tools/on-page-keyword-optimization 4. Think about content you can use to generate links - this seems like a complex subject so maybe an infograhic or some other piece of premium content could be used to generate links and interest. Once you create a premium piece of content like this it can be a linkable asset but also re-purposed for lead generation, to encourage social / viral sharing of your site giving your brand more visibility etc. This will build the kind of links that your competitors can't buy and improve your lot for these big terms and will help you generate more business in the process 5. Consider some link building activities via guest blogging or some such - again, this is a complex topic so I can only imagine that the opportunities for content on site and 6. Identify any gaps in the search results for user queries and create authoritative content to fill those gaps - hard answers make for easy links! Then, again, use this content to visit places where such questions are being asked and point people in the right direction. It may not be SEO as such but this will generate more exposure by having all rivers running to a single point (your site). That, should be enough to keep you busy for a while. Hope it helps! Marcus

  • Have you checked to make sure your analytics is installed correctly and functioning? I do see 20 pages indexed in Google for your site, and it's ranking for at least your domain name. I'd think you'd get at least one visitor from Google searching for your domain name in the past few months, if nothing else.

  • You can do an on-demand crawl test of up to 3000 URLs at http://pro.seomoz.org/tools/crawl-test, which might help.

  • The search engines - Google, Yahoo! & Bing - all maintain multiple indices that run across multiple datacenters. This means if you query different datacenters, you can get somewhat different ranking results. Other elements, such as personalization, geography and search history (even if you're logged out of your Google/search engine account) can also influence ranking positions. Hence, there can be a lot of variation in what different people, searching from different computers/locations might see in the rankings. Our solution has been to run searches from a variety of IP addresses and IP blocks using non-personalized, search history/location agnostic requests. In our experience, these have provided the most accurate results, showing what the "most" users see, though we know there's still quite a bit of room for fluctuation. If you have suggestions about how we might improve the technical process of fetching rankings data to get better data, please let us know and we'll pass it on to our engineering team. We're always looking for ways to get you better data. We also do not count universal results towards this ranking. Instead, these universal results are handled differently. To learn more about rankings and universal results check out www.seomoz.org/help/rankings Let me know if you have any addition questions or concerns. Kenny

  • For what you want to do - link assistant is not the answer.  Keep in mind, just a few good links will go much further than the spam that many auto-linking software programs generate. There was a really good article in YouMoz the other day about how to create interesting / buzzworthy content for boring industries (like copier services!) - take a look, and think about how you can apply it to what you're doing: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/the-guide-to-developing-a-content-strategy-for-boring-industries

  • Hello Anthony, Saw this still open. If your index.html "Rewrite" code is accurate, could the issue be WWW, i.e. http://www.domain.com vs. http://domain.com? RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^domain.com RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.domain.com/$1 [R=permanent,L]
