  • Hi there You can take a look at Delete a Page in Google My Business. However, if there is content your client posts and utilizes, then having a connected Google+ Brand Page would certainly help. That way, you have one more outlet to distribute content, and you also have a verified and linked profile on the platform. Just something to weigh out before deleting. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

  • Hello, Here it goes: Google has stated that microformats don’t directly affect SEO, but they’ve also implied that removing ambiguity about the meaning of certain content could improve the propensity of search engines to find, index and rank content. So, here the answer is YES Dublin Core is a kind of a duplicate of standard HTML meta tags and may be considered by Google as keyword stuffing and scamming. So, the Dublin Core is a kind of abortive SEO work. If you have HTML meta tags, don't bother with DC meta data. So, here the answer is NO Geo meta tags are used when you are targeting specific region for Search engine optimization. Geo meta tags shows specific location for targeting. So, here the answer is YES, specially if you do local SEO Hope this helps! Luis

  • Hi Lael, Depending on your clients budget and needs I would go for a self-build website / CMS or a Wordpress website with a highly customized WooCommerce section. Pros of Wordpress + WooCommerce Fairly cheap compared to a self-build website. Lots of extra functions that probably won’t get developed with a self-build website. Easy to manage CMS system. Very low design costs since you can buy a theme. Cons of Wordpress + WooCommerce Much harder to customize then a self-build website You’re working from a basis (the template) and your adding more functionalities. You won’t get every tiny thing the way you like it. The more plugins and customization you use the bigger the changes on conflicting plugins and security issues. You are depending on updates from third party theme and plugins authors. Pros of self-build All the possibilities to customize the website just the way you like. Cons of self-build It will cost you client a lot since (almost) every CMS function, SEO tweak, color or margin will need to be programmed. Locked in to the current provider since they are the one that knows how the website works. It’s a lot easier to switch provider with a Worpress website. This list isn’t all there is to know. I recommend you take these steps to make a final decision: Read some more about the pros and cons of Wordpress, WooCommerce and a self-build website (and other CMS systems). Map out all the functionalities that are required for your client (including any SEO needs). Check what functions you can find in Wordpress templates and plugins and divide your list in  functions that are offered by the Wordpress community and functions that aren’t. Determine the investment in development with Wordpress and with a self-build website. Compare costs with the earlier found pros and cons of both options and you should be able to make a decision. Last quick tip: when you work with a subscription you will need a integration with your bank or any way to upload all the automatic payments of that week / month. Make sure you understand this process before you make an price offer to your client. In case this research takes a lot of time, try to explain your client your time investment and try to let them pay for it so you can give an accurate offer. If the job goes through you can give them any discount based on your research costs. I hope this helps!

  • Hello Landon, I'm not a content curator professional but some of my employees use it everyday. I think they have recently done a great job by improving a lot their functionalities, and the paid version could be worthy. As far as I remember, you get some advantages versus the free version: Decide the subject where you want to archive content (the number of subjects depends on the version you have) Team curation Customize templates, newsletters... By the way, hehe I don't work at Scoop.it at all!!

  • Hey all, Joe here from the marketing team at Intercom. Unrelated: we're a Moz customer and I'm a huge Rand fan and Seattle native. Until today, it wasn't possible to use Intercom truly as a live chat tool for anonymous, logged out visitors to your website or app. You would need to have an existing account or login already to enable the chat-like functionality. But thankfully, no more. Voila: https://www.intercom.io/live-chat Intercom's vision is to build a central platform for all your customer communication. Having a CRM, email marketing tool, marketing automation system, live chat tool, helpdesk, etc. as separate entities provides lots of difficulties, notably in integration of them technically and functionally. We're hoping to change that. If anyone has questions about Intercom, I'd be happy to help or put you in touch with someone who knows more than me. I'm joe at intercom dot io.

  • The only tool that I have a personal experience with, is ProspectFinder from Enecto, Sweden. You can check it out here: http://www.enecto.com/products/prospectfinder/ It compares IP adresses with local business information, and they can integrate it with your CRM (SugarCRM, SalesForce etc.). You can get an automated email with a new list of prospects each week and a bunch of other stuff.

  • I agree with Hutch re-targeting/re-marketing does help, we tried adwords/facebook/adroll/criteo depending on your target CPA some maybe out of question, in my experience the cheapest is adwords, but it doesn't have the largest reach. Based on my little experience I am also very much skeptical about all those cart abandonment packaged solutions, the real improvement is negligeable. In my experience A/B testing like mad (ux, copy, discount, exit popup, etc...) is what really bring double digit improvements. But I do agree with Ryan, a professional CRO company (like http://www.conversion-rate-experts.com/ seems to be, but I never tried their services) would probably help identify what to test and shorten the time required to get results.

  • Yes, that's the one. I couldn't live without SEO Tools in Excel. It's a necessity for the way I work.

  • I would suggest doing some keyword research from the Keyword Tool in AdWords to find exact match terms that align with your product, then using the +broad +modified match type to gather volume around it. Run it on CPC with significantly lower bids on broad and higher bids on exact. I don't understand this portion though: you are a reseller of this product and other people have it as well OR you are a reseller of this product that is coming out but no one has it yet? Either way, does anyone know about the product's release? is this a hard sell? You might need to do some content network retargeting from your current traffic sources to show people who already know that you're a good company that you will have this product release. If you have very little traffic and are trying to get up and running then you might want to consider content network (aka Display advertising) to drum up some awareness. Brand building can be done with search advertising as well, keep your queries focused around your product but don't grab the short tail high volume keywords or they will eat your budget.

  • Here's the definition from their glossary: LTS: The link target score (LTS) is a measurement of a domain’s overall relevance to the queries you created at the “Find Prospects” stage. We calculate a domain’s LTS based on the number and position of its occurrences within the SERPs. A higher LTS indicates that a domain has a stronger search presence for your queries, and often but not always this indicates higher quality and higher likelihood of being a converting prospect. It’s ONLY useful for comparing domains within a single prospecting report, and not for comparing prospects from one report to another. Domain PR is a better metric for comparing one domain to another across reports. Based upon that, this is just a relevance score based upon how frequently that domain showed up in your report. Use it as an indicator, but you shouldn't abandon a prospect due to a low LTS score.

  • Hey Chris, one of the bigger two factors on page load speed are the number of http requests (meaning various files that have to be loaded, but each new domain slows things down even further). Essentially, every time they see a new subdomain or domain the browser has to go lookup DNS information for that URL. Because of that, prefetching DNS info for those 3rd party sites is valuable since it tells the browser "here is the full list of domains you need to get info on" right upfront. As Ryan mentioned, it's just one more thing that can get checked off the list. I think the value of implementing this is going to be strongest for high-traffic publishers which have tons of 3rd party data collection on their site from ad networks and other providers.
